      I most often use round or Ergonomix implants.

    Which one would you suggest for a MtF trans woman?

    • @harleyclinic
      @harleyclinic  Год назад

      There is no one shape fits all sort of approach. A detailed consultation is what you need. See my video on consults. In general those without a breast shape will want a more shaped implant like anatomical or Ergonomix.

    Would you recommend ergonomix for someone who needs more upper pole?

    • @harleyclinic
      @harleyclinic  Год назад +2

      A fuller upper pole would be best served by a round implant or fat grafting in addition to ergonomix.

      I had lack of volume in both upper and lower pole. I wanted ergonomix but was advised round which i've just had done :)

    Do we have to change the implants every 10 years ,thank you .

    • @harleyclinic
      @harleyclinic  2 года назад +2

      You don't have to. If there is a problem see your surgeon. But I advise a checkup at that point as you may want them changed for any number of reasons - like change of size, shape, etc. The longer the implants remain, the higher the risk of rupture.

    Isn’t textured implants bad? Will cause BII 😳🫣🤔

    • @harleyclinic
      @harleyclinic  2 года назад +2

      Textured implants are not linked to BII (not that we know of) but to BI-ALCL. Smooth implants also have their problems with a higher capsular contracture rate - around 20% at 10 years vs 10% at 10 years for most textured varieties. The nano-textured implant is an attempt at a sweet spot between the two - no history (yet) of BI-ALCL and very low capsular contracture rates.
