Thanks for demonstrating the proper way to use this tool. Recently I purchased a 3/4 oak plywood sheet from my local Home Destruction box store. I had them rip it down to smaller pieces for my project. The store operator forced the blade across the sheet way to fast, then failed to stop the blade at the end of the cut. Then didn't separate the 2 pieces before returning the saw to the top position. Resulting in the worst cut I've ever seen. The tear out was horrendous! That Oak plywood is the most expensive piece of plywood they sell at $60+ per sheet. I complained to the store manager and received a heavy discount on the sheet. Which was ok because I was going to resize the sheet as needed once I returned home to my work shop. But it's the principal the the operator clearly did not care about the quality of his work! I enjoy your videos, great job!

Same experiences. It’s sad they have little regard for proper and safe use at HD. Always have it cut oversized (unfortunately) and clean it up at home.
It’s still nice though that they will break down these large and heavy sheets.

Most home woodworkers don't have the room nor the budget for a panel saw. You are at the Uni using their equipment right? Good information but most of us won't have this type of equipment in our home shops.

Great point. Yes, we are at our college makerspace, a panel saw probably wouldnt fit in a dorm room haha! :) This video is from actually before we became a youtube channel and were just trying to make videos for other college makerspaces to use, so it definitely presents accessibility differently than we would now. Thanks for the note! Anything done on a panel saw can also be done on a circ saw, maybe we should do that next....

I built a basic panel saw using v-track and 4x2s for about $150. It takes up little space in my garage and is perfect for resizing sheets to fit my laser cutter.
It allows me to buy plywood by the pallet and save money. It’s more than paid for itself.

Thank you taking time to share the info. I don't know if you're going for emphasis on the beauty or the bolt, but from this video, I'd say beauty. I was distracted by your outfit, one which you'd never find being worn by any professional woodworking woman. You say to wear goggles and have your sleeves rolled up, but what about your belly and back being covered? In this video you are dressed like you're going out, not going to work in the construction industry...right off the bat, regardless of your skill or experience level, I've discounted your information based solely on your attire. I don't mean to be rude or over critical, but I am a woman who owns a landscaping company and would never expect anyone to hire me based on my skills if I dressed in cute tops that don't cover my middle parts. So, if you're focusing on the beauty and the bolt is a secondary piece of your act, then you're on target.
I checked out your Facebook page, and your business concept is awesome and your goal to bring otherwise unreachable tasks and information to the minorities who might not have access is brilliant. I just believe a womman can be dressed for any part appropriately, and still be feminine without having to show off their bodies. Just one person's opinion, not meant to harm or take away from your big picture. I wish you all the best in your endeavors and I truly hope you make a difference in our ever-still male dominated world.
