My wired shutter trigger gave out last week, I took it apart and thought I fixed it. Not. Ordered another of the same cheap model on Amazon. But, there are times when I need to be further from my EM-1 Mark ii with the Oly 9-16 lens. I saw you with the AD600 flash in one of your shots here across the room from the camera.
I have used the Olympus phone app to remotely trigger the camera, but when I am using the camera setting up shots from the back screen, it's a lot faster than fussing with the phone app, and connecting via wifi to the phone just to take a remote flash shot takes way too long. Please share your setup?
I have a wireless Godox flash trigger on my camera hot shoe (it does not have an additional hot shoe like the one your recommend above). You have a recommended remote shutter above in the Description. Does that have a trigger with a cable that plugs into the side of the camera (where I'm plugging in my wired shutter release now), or do you stack the smaller unit on your flash trigger's hotshoe, without a cable to the side of the camera?

Yes. I use a cable that goes in side of camera and I mount it on the hot shoe of the Godot trigger. Its just for mounting, hot shoe does nothing for activating remote shutter. That's what the cable is for. And yes, I stopped using the app because it was taking too long.
@@joefoto Thanks for your reply! So I am guessing I can just hang the small shutter trigger on the tripod with the wire going into the side, or mount it on a Smallrig frame non-hotshoe mount. The model from Amazon you note in your Description - it comes with several different cables. The E3 plug end with three sections looks like the plug on my wired trigger. Is that the correct one for the EM-1 Mark II ? Thank you again for your help!
Yes, it is the same as the canon connector I believe. yes, you can also just hang the receiver off the side of camera but even better would be to get some kind of mount like you mentioned.@@prestigepropertymedia007
