- In this video I dive into my process for editing HDR real estate photos incredibly fast. I'm going to show you my exact step-by-step guide on how I am able to edit Real Estate photos for multiple homes using only Photomatix Pro & Adobe Photoshop. This technique does not work with Real Estate flash or flambient photography.

*Very much worth the 30 min. watch! I like that you pointed out how we tend to be far more critical of our work than is necessary for the MLS. When running a business, efficiency has to be taken into consideration. I would like to see a real-time video of you editing a house.*
I'm getting old and have the energy to do two jobs at most during the day out in the field, and I'm doing just fine with my ingrained technique - but really, this was a very interesting video that I wish I could have seen many, many years ago. Good and elaborate technique, so thanks for sharing this.
I appreciate the comment
Damn bro.
I am just starting out doing HDR realestate and this was just what my workflow is, and now I have stumbled across your vid. So cool. Thanks for the additional tips with photoshop.
Great vid! I spend way too much time editing and this looks like the cure. I will try your style. Thank you!
Great video 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 thanks a lot ❤️
Perfect Amigo! Really helpfull :) love to speed up the workflow. I'll try to speed Your's even more - You can set default presets for camera RAW that will recognize your camera and lens and IF then it will apply preset that You want with for example lens correction, boosting shadows a bit, auto geometry - things that You are doing always. This way once You open Your photos they all will be auto corrected by your settings by default. Best Regards!
Thanks for the tips.
Great tutorial. I learned a lot. What do you do when you have reflections? For example, shiny floors reflecting furniture. Or glossy cabinets reflecting furniture and/or the exterior windows?
Great video! It helped me a lot .
I love this job, however I dont want to proceed the post-production on my own. After sending them out for editing, I have enough time to shoot 3 houses per day. edithere if anyone needs it. I don't want to advertise but they are very good at post-production.
what do you recommend if you cant avoid your camera in the mirror?
Appreciate it homie
You just changed my life! Thank you
Why not create HDR photos from the raw files? Don't you dump some of the data when using jpgs?
Hi, you say you charge $150-$200 per home. Do you charge extra for community amenity photos? If so, how much?
@@Senzuberry depends on the size of the clubhouse and if they just want aerials of it or interior shots too. I may charge an extra $50-$100
I need to get my wide angle lens and start finding clients. Been itching to get into Real Estate Photography for a while now. You think someone new into RE photography would be at a disadvantage right away by not having a drone?
Yeah I would say most of my clients want aerial photos but you can still get some work without a drone.
sir, do you apply sharpening?
You can sharpen the jpg in camera before hdr
how can we make this work for homes with heavy tungsten lighting? everytime i try to merge it makes things so Dark that you cant recover it back.
Shooting in auto white balance (white priority) helps a lot with tungsten lights but also doing a quick yellow desaturation also helps. Honestly I send all my stuff out to India now for editing and it turns out perfect.
@@HomeandYacht i did a shoot that took me way to long to edit because everything was so yellow and I had to manually go in and desaturate the white walls it took for ever!
@@HomeandYacht This vid rocked. What company in India are you using? I'd love to send some photos away as a test. Is the photo turn around delivery back to you quick enough? Thx in advance.
Thanks. I got a guy named Dinesh that I use who works via whatsapp +91 88387 02780.@@FitnessSheriff
Very Nice 👍 Thanks 🙏
Nice technique, do you think it was the Photomatix that made this fast editing easier or it was Photoshop ?
Being able to bulk edit in the photoshop raw editor is what makes this process much faster.
How’s your workflow these days bro? Still working the same techniques?
Hey, my volume has increased significantly, so I just outsource my photos nowadays.
Flash shot at 1/200 second is still the best results for window pulls and lights. HDR too much of a hazzle. If you got a flash use it.
Great video. I tweaked your techniques a little more to my liking but the amount of time that I have saved is enormous. Thank you for sharing this.
What did you different?
You're very welcome!
great infos, and perfect explanation, thanks
but did you mention that you shoot that kind of home for 150-200 bucks only ?!
Thanks and yes florida realtors are cheap lol. $150 for interior exterior photos but it takes me no more than 30 minutes and I do an average of 4-5 homes a day.
that's insanely cheap...@@HomeandYacht
Great video verry helpfull thanks a lot may i ask you how long it takes to Edit 30 pics ? 25 ground en 5 drone pictures ?
I usually take a 1-2 hours editing each property. You just saved me countless hours thank you for sharing this
No problem
Why are you not shooting in Raw other than the obvious that it takes up too much storage? Can this be done in Raw?
HDR batch is faster with small jpeg.
This is the way
Cool video and I like the workflow. I just have a few questions. Are you in manual or aperture priority? What is your f stop? How is your 5 bracket set up? One stop apart? Two stops a part? What is your white balance set in your Canon camera? AWB? Custom WB? I'd really appreciate your answers. I just need to get this all clear. Thanks!
Shooting Mode: I am in aperture priority mode.
F-stop: My f-stop is set at 8.
Bracketing Setup: I have a 5 bracket setup, and they are 2 stops apart. The sequence is as follows:
0 (Base Exposure)
-2 (Underexposed by 2 stops)
-4 (Underexposed by 4 stops)
+2 (Overexposed by 2 stops)
+4 (Overexposed by 4 stops)
White Balance: I have set the white balance to auto white balance (AWB) with white priority.
@@HomeandYacht Thank you so much for sharing. It will definitely help us all! I will get working on it!
so you are essentially using the raw editor as a lightroom alternative. Interesting. That said I would like to see how you handle a place with REALLY bad color casts. Having hardwood dealing with hard wood floors changing colors, really bad interior lighting (I have done a few).
I usually take a 1-2 hours editing each property. You just saved me countless hours thank you for sharing this
Great video, thanks! Question: Can you do the batch adjustments you did in Luminar Ai in Luminar Neo? It seems there are more batch adjustment features in the lower prices Ai vs Neo? TIA 👌👍💪🙂
Thank you! Just exploring the idea of better photography & editing.
If you primarily operate in Lightroom, do you think the LR HDR batch plugin would be sufficient? It has the same presets. Also, do you find it does a good job balancing windows, or do you find yourself having to go into photoshop to hand-blend windows in?
I am assuming luminar neo is just as good?
Great Video
This is one of the best tutorials I’ve seen. I don’t charge a ton so I just don’t have time to deal with flash and window pulls. I’ve never thought of applying different presets to ext vs int shots that’s a great idea. I also really like your camera raw workflow I’m gonna try that later instead of LR.
Glad I could help.
This must be the most satisfying video i've ever seen in search for an answer to a question. Also, I always though i needed to process the raws for best result. You are a true genius. Thanks !
Glad I could help!
Great video man!
Do you have an insta/portfolio we can see online?
Yessir @bobbymilleette.tv
Wtf.. If I turned this I wouldn't have any more customers xD
I get where you're coming from but I have been shooting for over 3 years (3-5 properties a day) and I get maybe a 1% complaint rate. MLS photography has much lower standards than something like interior design photography. Work smart not hard.
@@HomeandYacht what is the procedure when a client complains? Do they ask for a refund/ discount, or how do you handle those 1% situations? Thank you bro!
Been watching scores of flambient tutorials. You got me rethinking HDR here... Thanks for the tips!
I personally think flambient is overhyped and not worth the extra time. I shoot 3-5 properties a day so flambient would slow me down too much plus you can get very similar results outsourcing your hdr photos.
Just out of curiosity can I ask what size lens you were using on this shoot?
Literally the best video out there. Thank you.
Thank you
Bro, I’m about to save over 15k this year. I don’t need to send it to an editor anymore.
One thing I did that helped in homes that are not well exposed is auto bracket with 1 flash shot it helped me get the correct colors when I merged it in Photomatix
Great idea! The speed of brackets and the color correction from flash. Will need to try. The issue may be the time to reset the camera. Maybe use the Custom Settings (three on my camera) to switch from brackets to single flash shot). Worth testing!
@@dataventurer9998 true, for my camera my flash only goes off on the first bracket when I either shoot 3, 5 or 7 brackets. It’s just as fast as I shoot without a flash.
