    Technically excellent and dramatically well conceived and executed. In the tradition of the best Backrooms art, you let the environment create the ambience of unease and lurking terror, without silly tricks or monsters. Small suggestion: It would make a neat jump scare if the sales pitch over the PA were delayed and cut in sometime after we'd entered the supermarket. Keep up the great work.

    • @youtuber-official

      @eriamjr, well, just wondering, why do you need jumpscares when you already have an interesting, indeterminately large liminal space that's really exciting without any of them? Also, those jumpscares are not part of the original concept of "The Backrooms", so the content we see in this video was done exactly the right way.
      Besides, in this video, the wanderer already was ambushed by an entity, so why wouldn't that be enough of the horror you need? At least for me, it is completely sufficient. After all, videos like this one are really meant to be _The Backrooms content_, not the horror movies.
      So if you want to see jumpscares, I suggest you go watch some horror movies. The Backrooms content is really not meant to be like that.

    • @eriamjr
      @eriamjr 11 месяцев назад +1

      Fair points, I agree you don’t need jump scares. Your comment prompted me to watch the video again, and I was reminded how superb it is - my comment didn’t imply any criticism. Personally I don’t think entities add anything to ‘The Backrooms content’ either, although I quite like the barely-seen, ratlike one in this video.
      I would just add that there are jump scares and jump scares. Having the sales pitch cut in once the explorer was in the supermarket would jangle the explorer’s (and viewer’s) already stressed-out nerves. Once the initial shock wore off, its main effect would be to reinforce the horror of being in a space that superficially resembles the familiar world but where inscrutable forces are at work and where the occurrence of seemingly familiar things (framed prints, shopping trolleys, sales announcements) only remind you that absolutely nothing makes sense.
      And therein for me lies a large part of the appeal of the Backrooms, insofar as they reflect our darkest fears that maybe nothing in our world makes sense either.

    It's good to see actual high quality backrooms content instead of hazmat guys having no regard for their safety while traversing a children's ball pit full of giant spiders or some other ridiculous entity/character in the backrooms. I don't want to gatekeep an internet copypasta, some of those videos are entertaining for sure. But it's good to see backrooms content that takes itself seriously. The realistic found footage tapes and the pseudoscience that some channels put out to try and make sense of the backrooms. I like that type of stuff. This is great work I subscribed!

    The narrowing corridors, the exaggerated inclined walkways/slopes (bizarre architecture) with little touches like the realistic light switch and bannisters/couches which feel bizarrely normal. All flowing into a supermarket devoid of stock, with its incessant (but believable) PA address/music, emptiness and unnerving familiarity. Best I've seen for a long time - thanks for posting. Criminally underrated. Very well done, looks incredibly real and I love the environments. Just the tiny detail of the character actually casting a shadow was nice. The house area was awesome with crazy shapes and stuff I love that so much the spaces look great. I don't have any criticism it is one of the best I've seen so far 10/10 subbed.

    I appreciate your Backrooms videos so much! As previously stated by another viewer, you know how to hit the proverbial nostalgic nerve. There are people like me who watch your videos who are older than your intended millennial or Z-gen audience. One good example is the display of the old TVs and the ads playing on the loudspeaker. That's how I remember those things as a now-aging Gen X'er. As always, incredibly impressed with all your creations. Thanks!

    Very nice.
    There's something extremely unnerving about 1920s to the 1950s music and audio.
    Mixed with what looks like a 80s, 90s or early 2000s super market this implies a few things.

    Outstanding work! Another masterpiece! The atmosphere was SPOT on! Loved how the music in correlation to the supermarket environment started playing, just before our Wanderer made his way up the ladder to that incredibly designed supermarket! Loved the randomly placed trolleys, and then when the lights went off we saw all those random TV's playing old cartoons etc. That thing/ entity that ran passed when the camera fell to the floor was honestly TERRIFYING! 10/10! Will there be more footage coming soon? :)

    I think all the food, if there is any left, in the Backrooms mall should all have generic names, like “COLA” in place of Coca-Cola or Pepsi in a generic plain font or something like that, and I also think that the radio should occasionally play lostwave song snippets from time to time, like that Everyone Knows That one.

    Stellar design weirdness for this version of backrooms. Probably my favorite so far. Got heavy Naissance game world vibes with small sections here large sections there wintin the same spaces. Very very cool stuff.

    Very good level design and execution. My only, hopefuly construvtive, critisism is that the Wanderer getting caught has become too cliché at this time. Leaving it more open ended Is, in my humble opinión, the more interesting option these days.
