VCS is much better than expected. Astrosmash looks so good. Retro astrosmash and then showed the new updated astrosmash 4 in television fans it looks awesome . I played Moon Patrol and it was really good as well. I'm in.
Exactly the same amount of confidence as before, I'd say. Building an Android/Linux-box is not rocket science, figured they'd manage _something_ this year and it's about what you'd expect from the spec mockup they had. Any potential logistics issues aside I'd say they will definitely push to deliver units at least Q4 this year, crunch and patch up Cyberpunk 2077-style if they have to -- the fanbase can take it.
Look at the laptop on the floor. I thing it's all running off of that. This would explain the lag. This would mean the only thing working on the "console" is the light
I work as a PM and when I use the phrase "98% complete" we are essentially done with the exception of some lingering paperwork. Being 98% complete with only a 20% chance it ships in four months is a contradiction.
If the last 10% of the engineering work takes 90% of the time, being 98% done means that there's still 18% of the work to be done. Considering they've been at it for the last 3 years, it should be available between 6 months and never.
I looked at some comments to a few of the Astrosmash vids. The fans are convinced that Pat & Ian are eating crow now, even though Tommy Tallarico was the one who didn't want to do the video.
Tommy: “I can’t just show you the console booting. There’s too much proprietary stuff going on and I don’t want people stealing my secrets. You’ll need to come in person and sign an NDA” Tommy 6 months later: finally shows the console booting, there’s nothing special about it and nothing of interest of value that warranted all that secrecy. It was totally ready 6 months ago though! Even if they were only showing renders and photoshopped images of people playing it
In January 2021 they reached the milestone Tommy was outraged that we didn't believe they reached back in July 2020. See the "Does a *Working* Intellivision Amico Exist Yet?" CU Podcast video. I feel like that says everything about Tommy's credibility and business practices.
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 ...they “supposedly” played it during the summer of 2019...12 months prior to Pat & Ian speculating that TT “might” not have a “working console” yet.
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 ...that’s what I think it has been...maybe with some controller integration...until finally this barebones & for the most part “believable” video of his system working.
Bring family and friends together again - so they can argue 'You brought us over for THIS !' At least Tommy can compose his own exit music when he is found out 😂
I was actually really looking forward to this system. Intellivision was my first console as a kid, and I still enjoy playing the classic intellivision games. I thought some of the remakes of the old intelilvision games like Night stalker looked really cool. I had a founder's edition preordered, but decided to cancel and wait and see what the actual final product will be. To their credit, they responded right away and refunded my preorder deposit, no questions asked.
8 input lag frames is bad. The Electric Underground compiled a list of shmups on PC and Switch and compared the input lag frames on both systems. PC is able to run most shmups at 2 input lag frames. Switch is able to run most shmups at 4 input lag frames. Some of the bad Psikyo ports on Switch have 7 input lag frames - but this is due to the Psikyo shmups being bad ports. 7 input lag frames is universally considered bad, but is tolerable for casual gamers. 8 input lag frames is very disappointing. I can’t imagine being able to play this system.
There are people on AtariAge making the most ridiculous requests for games on the system. A while back someone was saying "if you can't get the rights for Zaxxon what about the board game?" as if that changes anything about the IP rights and someone else recently was asking for a game like Densha De Go because of Techmoan's video on the plug and play...yeah sure. Gives me flashbacks to when people were making outrageous suggestions for devs to make games on Ouya.
I was skeptical once I saw Andre Lamothe was credited a while back as having worked on it. Dude has been around forever and is one of those fake it til you make it people. Anyone remember the XGameStation? I do, barely.
Catching up on the CUP and ran through the Amico stuff, My thoughts after this latest Video is, why? I just see no point in this console at all, its like the entire foundation holding it above water is some phantom nostalgia floatation device. If you want Nostalgia why not just find an original Intellivision? Love the Podcast guys, keep it up stay safe. Love from the UK 🇬🇧
133ms sounds about right for someone using a generic SoC bluetooth implementation coupled with a lightly skinned Android created by an inexperienced engineer who also used a cheap bluetooth chipset in an equally cheap peripheral. There's a reason why Microsoft uses a bespoke wifi implementation for its wireless controllers and only recently added bluetooth as an optional interface for things like phones and tablets. Serious gamers obsessed with minimizing lag will either plug it in with a USB cable or the wi-fi dongle and only use bluetooth for casual gaming they don't care about.

This console project is nothing but grift. Sure, it might get released if it's in Tommy's interests of self protection or making a buck, but it's priority is definitely fleecing ignorant investors. Unlike a typical crowdfunding project which asks for money based on the perceived value of a product that may eventually be released, he goes the sleazier route of investment crowdfunding which sets a minimum contribution many times higher than the product which may never see the light of day and the "investor" is not even entitled to. Then he justifies the "investment" with the promises of pre-sold units which he cannot/will not provide direct evidence of, and people who pay up are supposed to just take his word for it. He provides endless promises of future plans, proven research and data, most of which he can't back up with facts or evidence. He greatly pads his raised revenue numbers with projected revenue from pledges, pre-orders or professed purchase orders to appear as a well funded product when some or most of those numbers are projections instead of actual funds on hand. He's carefully set his minimum investment scheme to pander to the very same 50 something retro nerds he spends all his time with on RUclips stroking their egos and hoping they throw their 401k at his boondoggle. People can grouse about how good or bad his ideas are, but his actions are pretty self evident. Better question is, how much and how long will he pull a salary for himself and his buds from gullible investor and pre-order funds? That's exactly what Feargal Mac did on his Atari watch and a few scammy products before that. Tommy is using coronavirus as a crutch for sympathy so that people don't get upset that they need more time to create this thing. They've had plenty of time there should be videos of pallets of consoles ready to be shipped there should be no excuse why a game isn't ready to launch there is no reason why we can't see any other in-depth game footage other than certain titles. The developers have had more than ample time and more than a big enough break to get everything done and to prove to the world that even though we're waiting in this delay status that there is going to be a killer app once this thing is completed and sent out into the world I feel bad for all the people in the video game stores that are going to have to take this thing back when customers don't like it and issue store credits to all the fools who bought this thing Lord help us somebody get the class action lawsuit ready now make sure that he sells his Ferrari so we can all get the liquid cash out of it
My whole question has always been and remains to be about who wants this. I mean, a SmartPhone from a couple years back can do this stuff no problem. Probably better! So, the new kids are out on that point. I'm old and I grew up with the Sega Master System/NES era stuff. I don't want this either. So, Its not new "gamers". Its not older dudes like me in their early 40s. Its.....who? People who loved the Intellivision who are now in their late 40s or early 50s? Anyone know who they are shooting for, exactly?
Tommy is still changing the thickness of the plastic, the positions of the buttons and the tightness of his underwear. Luckily, if it does ever come out, there is a nice recessed tray on top for you to take a dump on when you realise it is crap. Hell, I would buy one just to create that meme.
Scumbag seller or the month..... They should have warehouses full of you and it's ready to ship and just need a software update it's a joke don't waste your time reviewing it or even talking about it how is it doing is giving them a nod
The sad thing is unlike the Ataribox, I don’t think this one was an intentional scam from day 1. I think this was just people with no technical capacity to actually deliver what they imagined, and got people to crowdfund. Which is pretty much the norm on crowdfunding platforms. Why the fuck would anybody crowdfund a Video Game Console?
The amico is soo stupid there is no need for this on the market it’s a waste of time and money. It’s a western version of a bootleg console. But with a semi known IP from the early 80’s that no one cares about. Tommy has a little crew of crazy zealots that never caught up with current gaming technology.
Calling it: Amico does not release until November 2021 to not only coincide with the Holiday release, but most of the Covid hysteria is finally done with, and we start getting some normalcy.
Tommy will be cryogenically frozen, he & his weird employees will all be laughing at us on 10/10/10010 & Tommy relishing his victory, over us haters, with a new wife to boot
Wasn't this going to be available at Walmart? If so, I'll definitely pick one up when it ends up in the bargain bin. Hopefully the new Earthworm Jim doesn't suck
I owe Pat Nes Punk an apology. I actually defended scam artist Tommy until now. Pat and IAN were right on target. No doubt the system will be released......but a $15.00 android phone will be more powerful when it is. Tommy however does deserve to earn the scam artist video game man of the decade. Tommy truly a great con-man.
LOL nobody wants that trash amico intelivision it plays phone games even crappy brand new chrome or windows 10 laptops can play all of those games and more from steam not to mention emulators and all the other uses a cheap laptop can do and might be cheaper still
@A. Volpe Yup. Thinking about it, if the Amico used the iPhone's 12 processors it would actually be pretty powerfull and would probably coat double what they want for it now.
@@PatTheNESpunk You're good. You used it as an analogy to make a correct assesment. If I was in the market for what Tommy is positioning the Amico for, I would still choose a Swich or a Series S. If I was really worried about my kids accessing inappropriate content I would just turn on what ever security settings they have for that and keep an eye of what they play. The Amico and the Atari VCS both are like 4 or 5 years too late. It's insane that almost for the same price of the Amico you can get a Series S a wayyy more capale system with access to a huge library of games, old and new. By the way, love your content Pat.
I realise this is an old video that I'm commenting on, but I'm just amazed at how it's still not been released yet after all this very American fanfare! 😊 And by that all I mean is that the Intellivision console was never really a thing in the UK. So it just appears to me that it's solely an American consumer audience, so to speak!? 😁 (OK, I've not put it that great there!) 😜 But anyway, it just appears that there's way too much fanfare for no product, and it seems to be all generated by a single man - Tommy 'Tyler' Tallarico!?! 😊 Also, to be so vulgar, but just HOW did he make all his dough?!? Surely NOT just from composing for Earthworm Jim (plus a few other games? I AM fairly ignorant here). Composers don't get paid quite THAT MUCH money!? Y'know?!? 😁
I would use this console with certain family that doesn't play games. Especially if your phone can be used as a controller. It has potential for some quick fire games while drinking or visiting. But at the cost he is asking....dunno. Probably not.
The Pat and Ian vs Tommy war rages on. Taking a toll on all its participants. Just look how much younger and fresher they look in this recommended video I got after this one, barely more than a year old. An early attack from Pat concealed as an apology, this has been a real dogfight from day one. ruclips.net/video/kb13Fml9VXk/видео.html
@@PatTheNESpunk Perhaps it's just the pre covid 19 optimism shining through both of you in that older video. I don't mean to make light of a situation that shows you're principled and have integrity not to hype an unproven product - though it's kind of taken on a life of its own. Both of your honest opinions are a big part of why you have a great YT channel.
Clearly Pat and Ian have never searched for a tech job before. Often old listings for filled positions aren't removed. It still being up doesn't imply that the position wasn't filled. Also, saying things like "we need someone to make the system run" doesn't imply that the system does not currently run or that 0 people are currently on the job--it's a way of communicating that your work will be crucial to the company and will be high impact. Often this is a way to entice developers to apply.
@A. Volpe I don't care about the Amico. It looks like a waste of time. But all I'm saying is that using LinkedIn job postings as evidence that they don't have a full team and then speculating what features must be missing based on the postings is just bad logic.
@@PatTheNESpunk My mistake in that case Pat. I do think you might be being a bit hard on them but that's just a hunch. While I have your attention, though, I just wanted to bring to your attention that an upcoming American Innovation Commemorative Dollar is set to feature Ralph Baer and the Brown Box. One of the following designs has been picked: www.usmint.gov/news/ccac-meetings/2021-american-innovation-dollar-coin-new-hampshire Apologies if this is old news.
Just a quick thought, I have used cheap HDMI splitters before that have caused lag, both significant and insignificant, so that could have caused the lag. Also, if you are writing and rewriting a dev kit, an SD card is more convenient than reflashing the board every time. I would not have used an SD Card for the demo, but if that’s the issue, then no big deal for a final version.

Oh, Tommy...
Yeah but the VCS came out...
It's a CUconsole
Lmao fast forward 2 years later and most of the Rona craze is over with…still no Amigo
@@DigitalRecollections Ha! I'll take the L on this one.
Not before 2022.
Well, it's delayed till October, so you may be right.
You guys are off Tommy’s Christmas card list for next year too. Keep it up and you’ll never get a card. 💌
So satisfying to see Tommy Turdtickle's promises crumble yet again.
That’s Turdatickle. Get it right man. 💩
Sad. Throwing his career away on a shovelware pet project.
@@ezg2000 Agreed but he is also laughing his way to the bank.
@@mrsmith2191 Not really. The verdict is still out if he makes any money from this shovelware.
@@ezg2000 I can assure you he already made money. Shovelware without a doubt. I'm looking forward to emulating his system ASAP.
@@mrsmith2191 Lol
LOL nobody wants that trash amico intelivision it plays phone games even crappy brand new chrome or windows 10 laptops can play all of those games and more from steam not to mention emulators and all the other uses a cheap laptop can do and might be cheaper still
You can buy a brand new phone for less than £100 and have games that look like this or emulate systems upto the Dreamcast
Iphones don't use Snapdragon processors, but yeah it's not looking good for the Amico
Yeah should have specified the caliber of the processor on iphones is closer to that
😁 (OK, I've not put it that great there!) 😜
But anyway, it just appears that there's way too much fanfare for no product, and it seems to be all generated by a single man - Tommy 'Tyler' Tallarico!?! 😊
Also, to be so vulgar, but just HOW did he make all his dough?!? Surely NOT just from composing for Earthworm Jim (plus a few other games? I AM fairly ignorant here).
Composers don't get paid quite THAT MUCH money!? Y'know?!? 😁
Badly aged comment, ;). Currently putting together a playlist for the Amico Saga, let's see how much worse this whole affair gets.
touch button controller? fuck that ...
Tommy will do a 5 hour livestream with 9 other amico fanatics. To rebute 2 guys and a 22 minute video. Overcompensating much?
Cryus Martin is doing one now
@@mikemartinez5654 Yeah. But he isn't clout chasing.😁😁
wrong again F21
@@mikemartinez5654 He is desperate for attention.
@A. Volpe Funny I just think he is a T.R.O.L.L
I would use this console with certain family that doesn't play games. Especially if your phone can be used as a controller. It has potential for some quick fire games while drinking or visiting. But at the cost he is asking....dunno. Probably not.
There is a laptop under the table that is mirrored to the TV????
No, its a capture card connected to laptop for streaming.
Man tommy is fuckin up his rep
Is it just me or does the ui remind you of a pi with a shitty splash screen and front end?
@Lassi Kinnunen 81 I'll demur to your knowledge here.
Pat is quite the gambler lately lol
It won't happen
Did Pat just refer to rock paper scissors as "1 2 3 shoot"
I was thinking of Odds & Evens. :p
gamestop has this and the new atari in there recent ad
Jim is forever cursed😂😂😂😂
22 min.....oh yea...this is like porn for my brain
Yikes and it costs as much as an Xbox series s
Why so much hate? 26 downvotes
Tommy's shills.
That’s the 26 people that preordered it
The amico fans are radical they downvote every critical video they probably also false flagged it too.
"🎵🎵🎵🎵update-"
IAN!!!!!!!
Crowdfunding delays?
Bummer
Was anyone stupid enough to take that bet?
The Pat and Ian vs Tommy war rages on. Taking a toll on all its participants. Just look how much younger and fresher they look in this recommended video I got after this one, barely more than a year old. An early attack from Pat concealed as an apology, this has been a real dogfight from day one. ruclips.net/video/kb13Fml9VXk/видео.html
I look like shit in that video.
To..make....the🤔 sys..tem......runnnn🤔
What a shyster!!!
That's not fair! A shyster is a dishonest, incompetent lawyer. Tommy doesn't have a law degree. So he's more of a grifter.
Those job listings in question had been relisted and listed new on various job sites throughout 2020.
Who cares. This is a console that no one asked for.
@@41moose Got that right. 100% agree.
Does any1 still care about these consoles? I can get USB controllers and ROMs, so why do these need to exist?
I think it would be hard to measure input lag from a video like that.
Also, plenty of modern TVs are laggy as hell even with game mode on.
$200 for this?
$250-$300.
@A. Volpe
