No point about an xbox handheld in a world where the Steam Deck exists.
There's handhelds already better than the Steam Deck. Choice on which one someone may want is not a bad thing.
Microsoft is def gonna do something wild like next box being hybrid that can run steam os and stuff. They’re gonna do something PS would never consider

The comparison with the Steam Deck and the Series S is kinda wrong, since PC versions are not dependent on Steam Deck versions at all. They are fully separate.
That is why nobody is talking about the Steam Deck in that vein, because it's not the same thing.
I see no reason why they can't do the same thing for the Series S.
Make both versions, yes, but don't demand it to release at the same time.

A portable would be nice, but I would want it set up like the steam deck, legion go, etc. I would want to be able to switch OS to something like Bazzite or steam os when it's released. I would also want to be able to run other games not on Xbox but on my Steam account and not have to stream it. If they made an open-source handheld style and kept specs equal to or better than those of others, I would consider buying one. Ever since I started gaming on a pc and found all these games you can't play on a console, I haven't touched my Series X in almost a year. Just the amount of games available on pc is ridiculous, not to mention the sales that Steam always has that allow people to save and buy more games in a year than on console.
Some of us just don’t want a PC. There’s a market for people who simply want a powerful console with a clean UI.
Nothing wrong with PCs or Steam.. but many of us grew up with cartridges that instantly started up, or cd games that had a basic loading/start screen or menu.. and now we just want a XB or PS dash and some powerful hardware.
I bought a Steam deck OLED and returned it, because as good as the compatibility is, it’s still wonky and imperfect. A Switch or Vita just works with what it’s supposed to. The simplicity and cleanliness is key. Some folks like to tinker more, or don’t mind incomplete compatibility in trade for the vast library of games available for PC. So it really is a “to each their own” type thing. But folks like me exist. Only PCs in into are single board or super compact options for basic Linux terminal or MiSTer type usage.
You'd be an absolute mad man to buy another gen of xbox. I bought a series x like 3 years ago. Not 1 single current gen dedicated xbix game has been made. I'll never buy another Xbox in my life
Microsoft never fulfilled the capabilities of my Series X in this generation, so I'm not buying another one. Xbox is done in my eyes.

I think Xbox saw the rise and fall of Google stadia and the direction Amazon Luna had to take to stay afloat with strictly cloud-based gaming.
I'm just waiting for the Steam Machine at this point.
Can't see the Hardware selling with no real exclusive games, Microsoft have to pull a rabbit out of the hat to make the next gen consoles something special and different from the other consoles.

I loved the series s in the beginning. But they really should have used the same style as the ps5 in the beginning.
Adding Steam OS to xbox would grant us access to playstation exclusives. Something that sony wouldn't want 😅

The series x2 Is gonna have to handle more than 120 fps in order for me to upgrade from the original series x… i mean access to pc games is cool but if theres no difference when it comes to performance then why upgrade?
Microsoft should try and sell out the ui and see how other companies make a console. And just call it like hp powered by xbox or lenova powered by xbox.

There know point in a xbox hybrid as valve is making there own console just buy a pc or ps5/ps6. As well as gta 6 will play a 60fps on the ps5 pro only
Although I'll be happy about the next gen Xbox...I just got my hands on a series s 3 years ago and series x two years ago I'm not ready to buy a new Xbox maybe that handheld.. Long as I can play GTA 6 on my series x I frankly don't care

If it's not a PC with a console experience I will not buy the next xbox or handheld. There would be no reason when I will be able to buy the xbox games I want on my Playstation. If xbox doesn't make a machine like that, that makes my choice lighter on the pocketbook.

The Xbox dashboard is the worse it’s to cluttered with adds as the ps5 dashboard is clean I have both as well I also had Xbox since 2001 and moving from Xbox to PlayStation is not hard at all u need to be honest but u can’t when you have Xbox affiliates
Love my pc to play visual novels uncensored and love my switch for portability and exclusives love my ps5 for the exclusives

hardware leadership lol--gotta leverage more Gamepass subs,buy some more studios, its gonna result in a pc emphasis or hardware exclusivity (proprietry manufactured hardware/software suite ) that starts a new performance ecosystem,likely a more $ viable ecosystem streamlined for casual to focused gaming at varying price points for hardware/software and content integration potential

Everything is an xbox. No physical media, all digital future, no exclusives, and no more of a reason to purchase a xbox console. It has been fun. Xbox, thanks for the memories now on to playstation and nintendo.

Pc cuz u are getting games from steam, PlayStation and Xbox game pass. Xbox give out games to PlayStation but PlayStation doesn’t want to put game on Xbox besides pc only
