  • The newest addition to my build your own budget bushcraft kit.
In the grand scheme of things a couple of extra pounds would have got me a Mora which is by far a superior knife however i was looking for the cheapest fixed blade i could find and the Mora style doesn't suit everyones preferences.

Woodcraft hamster I thought it was illegal or copyright theft but I'm not a fan of steel used in buck knives its 420 I prefer and go no lower than 440 but be interesting to see comparison video of two 👌💪🐺🐾😉

Hi! that knife needs work. it is necessary to Unscrew the nut from behind and weld to strengthen the joints in the handle. then it will be good. I did. otherwise, the knife can be traumatic!

Hamster dont you find that 90% of the time cheap is not cheerful at all? I would sooner save my pennies and buy something good and support uk knife makers - and trouble is if you buy this type of equipment on the cheap you are looking at potentially nasty accidents from build quality fails which years ago i had happen, i bought a cheap survival knife about 30 odd years ago , was hacking around with it and the blade broke away from the handle , and i look back at that and wince now when i think of the potential damage to eyes flesh tendons god knows what else... see you could spend 100 quid on loads of cheap blades that all fail, or 100 quid on an f1 (or whatever) that will never fail you, so in areas such as "safe" and "reliable" the cheapy will not perform, and when you extend "safe and reliable" into other areas such as the blade not coming apart in your hand and severing a tendon, then i would sooner pay a bit more i think ,
An interesting video nonetheless- do you remember the little buck fieldmaster btw 😉
