i can't believe how big Micah has gotten. I remember when he was just a little baby bean. So cute to see him grow up traveling the world and becoming so well cultured and educated. I hope it gives him a deep sense of humbleness and understanding of other people and their lives and traditions.
That kid has aunties and uncles all over the world. When he is old enough to travel on his own he will have all these amazing connections. I can tell that he is already multilingual. I have friends who grew up from place to place and when we went traveling they showed me things that were not on the tourist road. Micah has a great advantage. A Thai mom and grandma with an American dad who is a mix of Asian and European. I'm sure he will have Thai grandma stories when he is older.
The thing I love the most about Mark is that he is so open and have so much passion. It doesn't´t matter what country he is in. He always want to know about the people, country and tradition. I really enjoy that about his channel.
Oh Mark really did his homework for this series. This nightmarket is where I'd have picked to eat if food is the primary focus. The name literally translates into Southern Airport, which is the name of this area and once upon a time there was a airport here (military I think). My grandparents used to live right across the street from this market so I have eaten here since I was little. This nightmarket has fewer out of towner than most of the tourism nightmarkts mostly due to the fact there isn't a MRT stop here, you either take the bus or car. In fact, this isn't even a tourism nightmarket for that long, for decades this place is where locals (meaning people in the district) come to eat. Many of the shops have been there for decades and they are able to last that long because the food is good plus reasonable price, the same definitely can't be said with most nightmarket foods. I am really impressed with the places Mark picked to show in this Taiwan series. Unlikely most wanna be travel/food RUclipsrs flocking to the same tourist traps that have been shown by others thousands of time, Mark really picked places real locals would eat day to day. There is no better way to show off a city than to show how the locals truly live and eat. Great serirs
He's picked a lot of recommendations from the Michelin guide and he's also got some of the best local food guides taking him around. Mark really does his best to always show the most diverse and unique foods from every place he visits - he's in a class of his own!
A lot of the food this particular night market offers more oriented from different provices of mainland China. Most of the older generation residents of this district retreated from China after the Sino war with the troop.
You really did your homework like others said!this is a very local market that I grown up with. During the morning hours, you can find a lot of local breakfast street foods here. This place feed local people generations after generations. Not many tourists came to this market when I was young. The dumplings place with a red line asides the street was my only memory with my father. We ate there many times when I was young. He passed away last year. Thank you for showing the good foods to the world!
Taiwan is my favorite place in the world. It’s so incredibly rich in food, culture and nature- and to top it off, it has amazing public transportation systems which makes for a fantastic trip!
This is not just a Food & Travel channel ....This is a cultural documentary that makes me appreciate our planet and I will support this channel till I'm an old woman. 👍👍🥰🥰
I commented on the first video about the scallion pancakes that I used to eat as a university student, and now Mark goes the night market and tries my favourite stinky tofu in Taiwan. Watching this Taiwan series is like a walk down memory lane, part of me wishes these places would stay unknown so it doesn't become touristy and part of me is so happy to see them featured on this channel. Regardless, these videos make me happy, so thank you for sharing!
I used to live close by when in college. Went there for dinner and late night snack nearly every day. I haven't been back to Taiwan for almost a decade now, so this video is kind of a treat for me to revisit those memories. Thank you.
Hey, Mark. I said this once before, I'm gonna say it again. I've been here ever since you made that Bangkok 14-days Tour, now you almost reach 10M Subscribers. You will reach 10M Milestone soon, that I can say for sure. Ever since I discovered your contents, I see you always strive to be better & better.

Yes! I’ve been watching since Micah was an infant, with Mark wearing him and hiking around while exploring! I am so thankful and proud. God Bless him and his journey!
Taiwan is in my top 3 of best places on earth, the people are so friendly, the food is amazing and the country side has it all, beach, forrest, mountains..
The authenticity of these videos are so refreshing, I don't go outside a lot and seeing him walk around the market with all the motorbike and cooking sounds in the background is so comfy
Was living in Viet Nam and headed home to USA for holiday. I had an overnight layover in Taipei but sadly had a huge gall bladder attack before I could eat anything. I got great medical care there. I met a lot of very kind people.
With so many food options in Taiwan - night market, sit down restaurants, food delivery, 7-11 stores, I doubt if anyone cooks at home anymore in Taiwan.
Wild.. I was just watching an older Mark video on a Taiwan night market - from years ago! It's amazing that he's continuing to chisel away at culinary travel perfection. The food is as sublime as ever, and his approach to production, showcasing the making of the food, etc just gets better and better with time. Beautiful stuff 🙏
I remember when our division chief introducted us to other cultural foods like this, it was soooooo good! i don't know that i could find it like that again. Thank you Mark!
I am going next week, I will visit Nanjichang night market. Quite near from our hotel. Thank u for your video. Did not know about this market. I have gone to Taipei nearly 10 times, next week, I will got to go there! Thank u

If you ever need a place to stay my wife family has several condos around the country . We can accommodate you .
When I went to Taiwan in 2007 the two highlights for me was the HSR and night markets although the latter was number one. They were fantastic......great food and cheap.
Hi !!! I really like your videos! It is because of your videos that I started documenting Taiwanese food! Welcome to Taiwan, and wish you a happy time!
It’s so incredibly wonderful to see you gobbling down that braised pork rice. You are fantastic for making so many videos from the Atlantic City of New Jersey to who knows where you will be taking us next. I only wish to travel with you next time in Taiwan where I will be visiting this Summer.
Wanhua district is where I lived, thanks to Mark that introduced my hometown, it is so amazing that a people who is so influential that introduced the food that I probably eat everyday or the place that I walk by at least every week. I am so happy to see Mark came to Wanhua district in this trip of Taiwan. Glad to see all these food tours! Wish you all the best!
@Mark Wiens if you see this message. So watching TV here you’d think the Taiwanese were hunkered down in bunkers and basements out of fear from Chinese invasion. And this video proves THEY’RE LIVING . I love you mark. You take fear out of me and replace with adventure. Your food and travel vlogs are helping my travel exploits.
MIcah look so much older now! Feels like I have been watching your videos for so many years now. Hope you and your family are traveling well and eating some good food!
I like how you talk about the food and educate about the food and I like how you find all different kinds of restaurants to recommend which is what I love about your channel I am a foodie myself whenever we travel to a different country I have an urge to try all of the food which is the best part of learning about a different culture and food is what brings people together no matter the country or the culture and that is a beautiful thing.😁
Thanks #MarkWiens for give a good start to my weekend 🥰. The Taiwan series is also coming out pretty good. The people are so friendly and welcoming and of course the food looks stunning. #FoodAndFoodiesShallPrevail 🤘
I want to thank you for sharing your food tours, I’ve had 4 heart attacks and 3 strokes so I’ve not had the chance to do very much but because of you Mark, you have given me the opportunity to experience your tours Thanks for sharing this with me. It means so much to me. ❤❤❤ Bob Cooney ❤❤

If Taiwan’s chip supply is lost, global development will stagnate, so protect Taiwan Freedom from Chinese aggression is crucial.
Can’t wait to go visit Taiwan. Any night market will satisfy any palates, and any budget. On top of that tips are not expected at all in most eateries.

Mark got my stomach mad at me this morning it been growling like a stray cat in a back alley 😅 I love tofu in soups especially with savory broths. I been searching for good restaurants in my area to bring me back in remembrance. Thank God for Asians & their fine cuisines 🙏🏾🍲
One of the best meals I ever had in Taiwan was at a street market - friends and I got seated in a parking lot behind some fridges. Don't be afraid! Succulent char grilled steak with rice and a perfect fried egg. Expertly made, so affordable.
