Wow, that silk noil, French scene fabric is stunning. I'd make something simple, like a slip dress, to wear under it. Your fabric ban went about as well as mine :-) The peacock linen blend is gorgeous, it will make a lovely pair of trousers.
My self imposed band went about like yours. I don’t have the will power either. I tell myself how disappointed but then so happy to have new beauties. Lol😊
Thank you so so much for taking part in the vlogger tour and for supporting the challenge! I'm sorry to hear you've been under the weather and I hope you are back to yourself soon 💛
Great vlog, Julie - full of inspo and fab makes! I’m glad you’re feeling a bit better. It’s a shame I’m not going on Thursday to the Stitch Festival as I would have loved to meet you. I’m watching while making my sewing yellow for endo make. The fabric you got from the detach is gorgeous 😍😍😍 Thanks for sharing. ❤x
Thank you so much Nadia, I’m looking forward to seeing everyone’s #sewyellowforendo makes at the weekend 💛 It is a shame I will miss the opportunity to meyou 😔 that would have been lovely! Sending my best wishes to you and Ben xx
Hi Julie, the satin fabric is perfect for the TAL high cuff sweater, please make that as it’s on my to do list and I’d love to hear what you think of it. All your makes are beautiful, the sweatshirt is fab!! You got an absolute bargain with your “Paris” fabric, looking forward to seeing what you make. Enjoy your trip to Stitch Fest. Hope you feel better soon. ❤❤😊
Yeay, that’s great! Alison has also left a message here saying she will be there Thursday too. Really looking forward to seeing the faces behind the conversations 🤩❤️
Aw Julie your makes are fantastic…I wish you had talked about your wrap dress on your mani it looks absolutely gorgeous..you have amazing talent…can’t wait for your vlog on that…wow ❤😊
Hilarious…. Yip I stuck to it. Mine finished on Thursday and I went shopping. Subscription boxes don’t count babe !! Don’t forget I lost a bet. The ban wasn’t self made. It was made for me! Yes they have normal front pockets. I lengthen my PP wide leg pants. And love them Karina is gonna get in touch. Not the first one 2nd colour yes and the last one. And yes it will look great. Do the high cuff sweater. OH MY GOSH I love that destash fabric!! Yip my favorite fabric of the year too !! Buying destash also doesn’t count. You are saving the fabric from potential harm 😝 Goodness you really threw your ban out the window didn’t ya!!! Yes I think that like leopard 🐆 top will go with that floral fabric Ohhh finally a ko-fi! I’ll have a lookski Take care hun. Nice haul!! 💕💖🦩💕💖💕
@StaceyJsStudio buying destash and subscriptions doesn’t count? No one told me those fabric ban rules 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I think I’m going to give the high cuff a go with that polyester 🤞 I’m still drooling over the destash silk 😊🫠 I’ll look for Karina’s message 😁
Hi Julie, love your yellow top you’re wearing and your wilder gown top is gorgeous, looking forward to seeing your dress you’ve made for the show, and love the top you’ve made to go with it. I went to the sewing for pleasure show yesterday with a long list of things I need 😂, only bought one thing on there, never even looked at it 🤦♀️. I’m going to the Stitch show on Friday, this time on the train so hopefully that will limit what I buy 🤷♀️😂😂. Enjoy your day on Thursday x
Hi again Julie, sorry to know you've been poorly I did miss you. I'm hoping to be at the Stitch Festival on Thursday. I was disappointed not to see the wrap dress, I could see it on your mannequin. It looks beautiful, certainly brings back memories for me as I made two if that dress in 1976 for post new baby. That baby was 48 last Monday. The top pattern you showed I think would look beautiful in that fabric with the blue or the green ribbing not the white as that would be too much white. It will definitely look great with the trousers you're planning. Cheerio again, look after yourself x
Thank you Susan, it would be lovely to say hello on Thursday. I can’t believe I forgot the wrap dress! Only noticed when I was editing. I’ll definitely remember next time 🥰🤩
Thank you for sharing all the projects! I just watched your video showing the jean collaboration. You nailed the thoughts on the nostalgia 😊 Definitely the same era. I'm going to try these 🎉 Hope you feel better soon.
Thank you for your lovely comment, they are a great pair of jeans. I found the instructions to be very clear and easy to follow , I do hope you enjoy making them and taking a trip down memory lane 🥰😍
Hi Julie, beautiful colours in that poly satin fabric. How about the Pattern Emporium balloon sleeve top? I’ve just made a toile and I love it. It’s loose and floaty so might not feel too hot. Although that silk would suit it too. That is just gorgeous but you can’t waste the 3m. Loving the green fabric for your trousers too. Good luck whatever you make. 😀
I love the dress. I made that pattern in bright yellow cotton poplin and I love it. I got so many lovely comments when I wore it last year. I think the bodice line is very flattering. And yes, I looked like a bowl of nectar soup!!😂😂😂. Fabric ban😂😂😂. Pattern ban 😂😂😂. As soon as I say ban I see everything I want - and well, life is too short !! Wildwood wrap dress would be lovely in the green fabric as well as the Thea trousers. Paisley would be lovely as a wilder gown top without the sleeves. All your rib fabrics work well with it and yes to the high cuff sweater. You could make the back plain. Love all your plans and hope you have a wonderful time at the K&S show. I would love to go any day. 😊 Lynne
Thanks Lynne, I definitely see everything I’d like immediately after mentioning a ban 🤣🤣🤣 and be just pulled out a bet old ted baker jumper, it has satin panels front and back with a bit fabric for sleeves cuffs and neckband. I think that’s a good compromise and keeps the polyester away from my armpits as they usually do not get on at all 🤣
No gathering with your silk! Something simple & classic that shows off that beautiful print. The underlining is perfect - that Fibre Mood T-shirt dress with the silk overlaid would be beautiful on you!!! Have a great time at the Stitch Festival :) xXx
Thank you so much, that’s such useful advice and suggestions. I hadn’t thought of the FM T-shirt dress with a gorgeous silk overlay but I’m really loving that idea 😍❤️
@@Julie_sews_her_own_clothes Really glad to have sparked your imagination 😊 I hope you make that dress, I'd love to see it & I really do think it would suit you. You could make a duster-type long cardigan with the silk that could go over different outfits. Looking forward to seeing whatever you choose to do & wishing you well xxx Suze
@@suze7268 that’s exactly what I pinned in my plans board this morning 😍 I have a full length open shirt and a full length caftan, both would look great in the silk over the dress. Many thanks for the inspiration 🥰😍
Which pattern are you using Karina? I will probably do both the Tilly Buttons and the Peppermint Mag wide leg & compare the construction , fit, comfort etc. do you follow Lost My Thread? Theresa would call it ‘Battle Of The Wide Leg Pants’ 😁😜
HI Julie. great to see you! sorry to hear you've been unwell. that silk is to die for! the blue underlining I immediately though of a bias cut slip dress. keep the silk fabric simple to let the print be the start. Loving what you are wearing.I managed to buy that issue of Fibre Mood when I was at Heathrow last year, wait to board. I was SOooo happy! I finished my make for #sewyellowforendo24. will need to get on line and recheck requirements. Currently working on. my sew frugal item. Look at me 🤣! Please take care, enjoy the Stitch Fetch and see you next vlog.
I love so many of the patterns in that issue. I do want to make myself a full length Judy dress. I love the Harper top I made at Christmas and I keep going back to images of the Amber top so I’d like to make that up over summer. I will look out for your sewyellowforendo and sewfrugal makes 🙌🤩 Have a good week Julie 👍🫶🏻

I come to the conclusion that fabric bans should be banned 🤣🤣
Thanks for sharing Julie, lots of lovely fabric. Subscription boxes don’t count when you’re on a ban. 🤫💙🧶🌈🍓
I’ve been informed today that subscription boxes and detaches don’t count 🤣🤣🤣 I like these rules 🥴🤩
Love love the wilder top and what a fab idea to make a separate skirt! 💛
Thank you Sarah. I’m off to stitch fest in the morning to buy fabric for the fibremood cape 😁😁
My self imposed band went about like yours. I don’t have the will power either. I tell myself how disappointed but then so happy to have new beauties. Lol😊

Yes, go for the assembly line high cuff sweater for the blue print.
