Why can't we have similar heart warming movies like these amymore? To me they make me remember summer afternoons riding around on my bike and its not just cuz we were kids plenty of adults at that time would also sit down and enjoy these movies💜
It's nice to see them all together years later. It sounds like this was one movie that they had a lot of fun on set, not too many issues, and enjoying their time together before it goes into theaters. It was also cool getting to watch them rehearse specific scenes too (I laughed hard when I saw they baked the whole thing for Karz)
When Mara was talking about the dancing scene it brought back like all the memories. I loved it because it was just so genuine. I used to dance like that all the time as a kid
Pam Ferris looks NOTHING like her character Miss Trunchbull in real life! She's so classy-looking and beautiful! And I can't believe how thin the guy who played Bruce is! He's so good-looking today! Matilda was one of my favorite films growing up as a kid! It was part of my childhood! I love how they included many of the film's props at the reunion! ❤️
I was 10 when the film came out. The dad of one of the boys in my class at school owned or managed the local cinema and let our whole class come and watched the film free with free popcorn and drinks. It was the best cinema trip ever. Happy days
she sounds like a teacher now... they need to throw her in a good horror movie I dont know if she still wants the big screen, but she should def do something jarring to shake her matilda. she looks exactly the same, which is why i havent seen her in much since then.
The amazing part about all of this is Mara Wilson is now involved in education and helping children learn to read. Matilda, teaching kids how to read. The movie was about finding a place where you can love and be loved back, and that's exactly what Mara has found. That's some really beautiful poetic shit right there. You haven't seen her in much since then because she stepped away from Hollywood and acting shortly after hitting puberty. Many of the roles she was interested in pursuing she was unable to get because she couldn't look the part. Mara pretty much hates Hollywood anyhow. She has expressed disinterest in diving back into movies and overall she's glad that her life wasn't ruined by becoming a super famous child-star.
Oh god! The part where they all re-act the whole scene again are so beautiful and I love it so much! I'm crying over this and I can't help myself over this
What really shines from this is just how much love there is for Danny. They all have so much respect and admiration for him and i can see why. I hope Mr DeVito always remains one of the good guys
This made me smile from ear to ear. Miss Trunchbull snapped into character and I was transported back to the film. I think it’s a testament to how lovely the cast were that everyone came back to the reunion and obviously Matilda was an experience they never forgot, and neither will I. One of the best childhood films that will last the test of time, amazing cast, amazing humour, and loyal to the book, too. Thank you all involved! :) ❤️
When Danny kissed Mara that wasnt just a i miss you kiss that was a where has my daughter been kiss! So beautiful . For the longest time I didn't think we were going to get this. So thankful for this!
The scene with the pigtails always gets me lol The little girl was so adorable. The lady who played Trenchbull is amazing...she seems so sweet in real life lol
Mara was such a great child actress. And Danny and Rhea have been part of the pop culture of my life since childhood since I was younger than Mara was when filming this movie (I'll be 48 in 2 months). And the young lady who played Lavender is as beautiful now as she was utterly adorable then. All the former child actors look amazing! And I must take a moment to say that Embeth was a favorite actress of mine already even as far back as Sheila in Army of Darkness, but her role in Ray Donovan as a breast cancer survivor (which she is herself) was truly awe-inspiring. I pray that she is still doing well. Thank you so much for letting us catch up with the cast and crew of this amazing movie. I loved Matilda the book as a child and Matilda the movie as a young adult. And to my fellow New Jersey native Danny . . . from the It's Always Sunny Jersey Shore episode, thank you for adding "I'm sorry, Rum Ham!" to my vocabulary! I say it every time I slice a ham! 😁
Man this is one recommended video I could not pass up, I was born in 93 and Matilda was one of favorite movies as a kid. I hoped all my teachers would be like Ms. Honey, kids to be as awesome as Matilda’s friends and Principles to be mean like Ms.Trunchbull. I could feel how emotional this was for Danny to see those people I hope he does get a chance to watch the movie with all of them again someday.
Matilda's one of those movies that everyone knows and love. It's so inspiring, and beautifully done. It got me thinking about how and why so many people love it, and I think it's because it's honest, and it shows. We see how a happy family lives; we see toxic relationships being torn appart; we see the "bad" people in our lives go away; these things are real to us, and we can see it in a more fun, theatrical way. So many movies fail to portrait what realationships look, even romantic movies, but Matilda got everything right, thanks to the cast of incredible "kid actors", and "adult actors"; the insanely talented Danny DeVito, not only directing and acting, but being "the uncle" to everyone, and all the people involved; together they created more than just a mere movie, they created art.
You can really tell how much love went into and was behind this film. Such a heartwarming watch to see them all together and enjoying each other's company. Pam slipped back into Trunchbull like a comfy pair of shoes as well, she's phenomenal 😂
Danny's a sweetie! He was also one of the catalysts for the film MAN ON THE MOON.(Andy Kaufman) When I found that out, it didn't click at first, and then I'm like OMG! LOUIE (DePalma) did this?!?!?
I’m crying This was so beautiful to see I grew up on this movie and watched it so much I had every single word memorized. It makes me so happy to know they all love it as much ❤️❤️❤️
Oh, I totally forgot they where remaking this, and there is probably a very good reason for that. There is simply no way to improve upon it, so it can only get worse. I guess that a remake could turn out equally as good, but that's very highly unlikely, and what would be the point? But this is very typical of Hollywood these days. Nobody has any new and original ideas, so they just remake all the classics, and 95% of the time they completely screw it up. I feel sorry for the children growing up today.
@@RarityourWorldWell, I guess not. I could have swore I saw an article about a remake, but after double checking, it seems that's not true. So that's good news to me, but unfortunately it's probably only a matter of time before we see one.

It sounds like this was one movie that they had a lot of fun on set, not too many issues, and enjoying their time together before it goes into theaters. It was also cool getting to watch them rehearse specific scenes too (I laughed hard when I saw they baked the whole thing for Karz)
Yeah and they're all still around. If this was Jurassic Park, half of the actors would no longer be there.
I actually teared up so tough watching this. It gave me all the nostalgia 😭❤️
🥲😞 omg
I love how this isn't just a reunion but they are reenacting the best scenes from the movie all these years later lol
And Trunchbull is really having a blast getting back into character lol
Bruce lost a lot of weight since the film, the actor has an uncanny resemble to Hugh Jackman
Miss Trunchball sounds exactly the same.
she was old in the movie... so....
@@ZombieZifiction she wasn't that old-
@@lei824 im saying why would her voice change she was an adult in the movie lol
@@ZombieZifiction ik what you mean-
When Mara was talking about the dancing scene it brought back like all the memories. I loved it because it was just so genuine. I used to dance like that all the time as a kid
Embeth Davis who played Ms.Honey was also Peter's mother in Marc Webb's Spiderman movies
Please somebody tell me this principle lady got an award for her role. Because her acting is phenomenal. She deserves it.
The one who played miss “trenchbull “ deserves an Oscar !
Pam Ferris aka Ms Trunchbull is incredible in absolutely everything she does or has done. Definately one of the best things about matilda

Ik Pam Ferris is a legend
That Pigtail reenactment was still scary. Soooo good.
"Your Mommy, is a TWIT!"
I didn’t get up to that part yet and I thought you meant that she threw Amanda by the hair 😂
Devito is a cool dude. I like how he actually seems genuinely interested in other peoples lives and stories that's pretty cool
Yes! They feel like the neighbors house you wanna visit. Like you’ll feel wiser when you leave
That's why he was so successful as a hair dresser. He's a natural charmer.
Why do I have tears rolling down my face. This is so heartwarming
Why am I just getting this recommended
Exactly
TROYCETV because they want you to talk about how much you hate it while you ice cream scoop mayonnaise all in your cereal! Lmao love you troyce!
I'm glad it was recommended.

I always liked miss honey she beautiful my fave and Matilda lavender Bruce Pam ferris was good baddie

Danny Devito and Rhea Pearlman did such a great job getting everyone back together
90s was truely magical
Pam Ferris looks NOTHING like her character Miss Trunchbull in real life! She's so classy-looking and beautiful! And I can't believe how thin the guy who played Bruce is! He's so good-looking today! Matilda was one of my favorite films growing up as a kid! It was part of my childhood! I love how they included many of the film's props at the reunion! ❤️
Janelle Meap How bout stop trolling, bitch?
@@TheGreekPianist they also Reenacted some of the scenes from the film!
they made the actress do a whole makeup routine and made her have a little mustache , she was scary i loved her backstory, damn failed Olympian lmao
She was also Aunt Marge from Harry Potter
the evil teacher acting is still on point
*principal
Ikr
The principal is the evil one, not the teacher.
Well ACTUALLY the term principal refers to principal teacher
Not really, she just reminds me of the aunt she played in Harry Potter
Refreshingly good. The boy eating chocolate cake is physically fit now and Miss Honey still looking sweet. Love the reunion of the cast.Thank you.
I was 10 when the film came out. The dad of one of the boys in my class at school owned or managed the local cinema and let our whole class come and watched the film free with free popcorn and drinks. It was the best cinema trip ever. Happy days
What sweet memories
mara's voice is unbelivable, such power in every word she says. she should definetely consider being a voice over artist
She is!
she sounds like a teacher now... they need to throw her in a good horror movie I dont know if she still wants the big screen, but she should def do something jarring to shake her matilda. she looks exactly the same, which is why i havent seen her in much since then.
You watch BIG HERO 6: THE SERIES? You should because Mara is in it. She plays Liv Amara and her evil clone Di Amara.
@@shubdawg70 is that dee or die?
This was my favorite movie growing up. I wanted powers like Matilda so bad lol.
Ikr lmao
Yesss me too 😂
Who didn't after watching the movie 🤣
I remember looking at my door trying to close it😭
Same, I had a dream that I did once
I’m glad everyone was around to do this.
Oh god! The part where they all re-act the whole scene again are so beautiful and I love it so much! I'm crying over this and I can't help myself over this
And have every food as seen from the movie
one of the coolest reunions ever.
Pam (Miss Trunchable) looks like she had such a good time reenacting those scenes!!
There was a real bond made
Looks exhausting
Aww Danny Devito is a cute lil penguin waddling around
ZeldasFinalFantasy Lmaoooo

hahaha that's funny because he played the penguin in a Batman movie. 😂😂😂😂
ZeldasFinalFantasy did you just call him fat
Oh my this is freaking awesome

I don't know what it is, but Lavender's "wow" was absolutely perfect.
I miss my childhood so bad, being 28 now makes me regret growing up but sadly we cant stop that.
yeah me too...I will be 32 soon....and I will see a lot of things I want to see before I turn 90..so it is not so bad..
Awww same here. I’m 28 as well and I feel the same way.
I know the feeling my friend, but we all know if this was possible we would still be in that garden🤔
I'm 28 as well. I only grow up every now and again :)
If only there was a way to go back, then maybe the world wouldn't seem as sad
BRUCE'S GLOW UP WAS REAL
Danny devito is honestly too precious for words
I only realised that the people to play Mr and Mrs Wormwood (Danny and Rhea) are actually married in real life. I’m shook.
Don'tEvenThink They're separated now
itsjemmabond what NOOOO?!!!!
Don'tEvenThink Old news!
They’re divorced now.
Can we just appreciate how adorable Danny and Rhea are together?
So beautiful that they're still friends even after their divorce.
@@HookedOnSonics518 DIVORCE?!?!?!! MY JAW FELL TO THE GROUND
I love the music in Matilda, it’s so soothing
Bakemono 17 David Newman is a genius.
Very nostalgic for me, almost heartbreaking.
He is far surpassed by his brother as a score composer. In my opinion.
ABSOLUTELY DARLING!!!!!! Danny DeVito is one big-hearted man.
what movie name ?
بريتنِي. Matilda
3:00 DAMN Bruce! that's what you call a glow up 🥵 And Neville Longbottom got a glow up also. Puberty hit them like a Bus.
I laughed at this!
Nah Neville is still ugly tbh, just abnormally tall

They don’t make ‘em like this anymore. This movie is so attached to my heart❤️
The love they all have for this project and each other is so pure. That is a true family.

Kinda hard to not say this, right? hahaa
This is probably the best movie reunion since the biggest star (devito) was the one who initiated the whole thing, this is very special.
Danny's a sweetie! He was also one of the catalysts for the film MAN ON THE MOON.(Andy Kaufman) When I found that out, it didn't click at first, and then I'm like OMG! LOUIE (DePalma) did this?!?!?
I love how Danny was and is like a father figure to those children. And now young adults. 💖❤💙
I’m crying
This was so beautiful to see
I grew up on this movie and watched it so much I had every single word memorized.
It makes me so happy to know they all love it as much ❤️❤️❤️
This movie changed my life, and it can never be topped by a remake.
JMFSpike They are???
@@RarityourWorldWell, I guess not. I could have swore I saw an article about a remake, but after double checking, it seems that's not true. So that's good news to me, but unfortunately it's probably only a matter of time before we see one.
They better not!
What I think they're doing is remaking them as animated movies for Netflix. I found this while searching.

I had the opportunity to meet Mara Wilson at a comic con this year and when I tell you she's probably the sweetest human being I've ever met.
To think Danny Devito directed one of the best book to movie adaptations ever!
Seeing the cast all grown up and like a big family like this... It's so sweet! 😍
Uh, did we just get Longbottom’d by Bogtrotter?!
