This movie is so iconic. All of the boundaries it crossed and bended while still sticking to such a personable and relatable story line is truly outstanding. Everything about this movie is timeless and I can attest to that because I legit watch it at least once every month, sometimes not the entire movie but I’ll skip to my favorite parts which usually ends up being the whole movie 🤣

I never realised how well thought out and ahead of its time this movie was. Tina broke so many stereotypes, I realise it was a seriously an incredible job now that i look back on it as an adult.

Yes! I feel like this is one of the very rare older movies that aged well. The lessons the movie taught underneath those jokes were pretty ahead of it’s time.

I actually think it's important for the movie to be a little "raunchy" because otherwise it wouldn't have read as authentic to high school and resonated with so many people.
I completely agree, it would've turned out just like any other sappy, unrealistic, teen drama during this time since that seemed to be a very popular movie genre at the time. I think the raunchiness and comedy in this movie added the perfect touch otherwise it would've turned out so basic and boring, and it wouldn't have been as iconic. It would've been so similar to Clueless but since it had comedians in it, it turned out perfect.

I dont think they mentioned it because it had nothing to do with the original cast, writers, directors or anything involved in the first one. So it was probably a paramount pictures deal because they technically owned the rights to the movie.
When they said "let's do a Mean Girls sequel" there was in fact a sequel, but it was a different cast and storyline altogether. And it sucked big time!! But would definitely like this cast to do the real sequel.

Loved hearing their thoughts about their roles, and very sweet that each person agreed they were part of something special. The story shared by the actor that played Damian, Daniel, was very moving and shows what an impact media has on people's lives. A classic movie that stands the test of time. Truly a cinematic masterpiece. Tina was an absolute legend for writing this film, the complexity of the characters and the direct comparison to politics through a high school setting is seriously fucking genius. This movie was way more than just a chick flick

When they said "let's do a Mean Girls sequel" there was in fact a sequel, but it was a different cast and storyline altogether. And it sucked big time!! But would definitely like this cast to do the real sequel.

Love how Rajiv highlighted the fact this film was ‘authentically diverse’ and ahead of its time - it was so inclusive and thoughtfully written to include characters from different ethnic backgrounds. Such an iconic film with clever writing and talented cast 💙💙
their was one black person and one Indian person. I love this movie, but I wouldn’t call it diverse.
For us 80s kids, we did see more diversity in music & movies....then suddenly it turned all WHITE at the turn of the century.

Loved hearing their thoughts about their roles, and very sweet that each person agreed they were part of something special. The story shared by the actor that played Damian, Daniel, was very moving and shows what an impact media has on people's lives. A classic movie that stands the test of time. And everyone looks amazing!

Truly a cinematic masterpiece. Tina was an absolute legend for writing this film, the complexity of the characters and the direct comparison to politics through a high school setting is seriously fucking genius. This movie was way more than just a chick flick
