    stunning paint jobs on these, if only they set it in 40k so those of us into xenos might have something they want.

    • @saltedllama2759
      @saltedllama2759 11 месяцев назад +2

      No, it's really better that they leave this with a secondary game (like HH/30k) which doesn't risk cannibalizing the main product. It's also much easier for them to make the models, as literally every player can use the same kits. They simply don't have the production capability to release a range for 16 non Space Marines factions, fully supported, while also doing 40k, and AoS, and HH, and Old World, and all of their other specialist game. This game is about humans and Marines. The End.

    • @Dorsidwarf
      @Dorsidwarf 11 месяцев назад +4

      @@saltedllama2759 I always see that argument and it ignores the fact that like, it WOULDNT be 16 factions, it'd be 3. Space marines, Orks, and Eldar are basically the 3 lodestones of 40k, the most widely collected and loved armies, and the most instantly recognisable by everyone, each with very different army philosophies and aesthetics. Sure if LI hit it off they might try releasing more factions as allies or something, but those 3 alone would be plenty. Space Marines vs Orks as the launch box, release an Eldar box six months down the line.
      The real reason its set in 30k is because 30k players will pay 8 trillion pounds for a skirmish army. If they ACTUALLY were afraid of extra factions splitting the cashbase they could have just continued to make it marine vs Marine :D

    • @Corusame
      @Corusame 10 месяцев назад

      @@Dorsidwarf I've held off buying this purely because its W30K. For me playing battles with huge armies of Imperial, Chaos or Xenos factions is a fantastic thing to behold and the main reason I got into this hobby. The moment a W40K version of this gets released I wouldn't hesitate in buying it.

    • @Captinsaneo
      @Captinsaneo 10 месяцев назад

      If you look at how they historically released the original game, if this version is successful, I think you will find they will eventually release Xenos into the game.

    Great looking army, It seems like a nice scale for sci-fi, 6mm fits historical better to me, bigger armies on the table, specially ancients.
    This scale seems like a better match for 40k and their huge war machines.
    I'm very into 15mm atm and as a modeller first: "if I see it I paint it", I really enjoy going the extra mile with the smaller scales, it pays off imo.

    I feel GW intentionally didn't show the issue angles with the infantry. Omly allowing us to properly see with the boxed set reviewers that went live when pre-orders were already being purchased.
    Really scummy move GW.
    They should of made the poses less dynamic if such crude looks to half or more of the bolter armed infantry was the result of having less dynamic poses.
    GW have no excuses, whoever gave them the go-ahead with them minis looking so warped seriously needs reprimanding.
    Allowing people to spend quite a fair bit of money with GW knowing these particular minis looked so bad could honestly irritate enough people to not buy more into this.
    I'm shocked they allowed this.
    I have 3D sculpts printed off thst details wise sre the same, if not better in some ways. Waaaay cheaper snd without the defects.
    Yet I chose to support the new Epic range so they'd do more.
    Now how silly I feel.
    If they release other infantry armour version types with these issues fixed at least for those i can at least get those and suport those.

    Really bummed there's not an option for Titan legions, or any xenos races for that matter. I loved epic and have fond memories of playing with Eldar and orks, and I did a whole forge world titan legion when the early 2000s version of epic came out.

      There’s still an active epic scene in the UK for the previous edition of Epic (Epic Armageddon) with 10 or so tournaments a year if you happen to be a UK person too. Plenty of third party and 3d print ranges available these days for epic orks, eldar, etc. Can play a vastly wider range of armies at epic tournaments then just 30k human all the time - epic nids, necrons, sisters of battle, tau, titan legion, etc.

    • @batteredwarrior
      @batteredwarrior 10 месяцев назад

      A titan legion would be stupid because unless someone else took one it would be completely unfair, as none of the infantry could do anything to hurt the titans and the titans couldn't capture objectives.
      If you want to play with Titans, play Adeptus Titanicus.
      Original Epic started off as Heresy.

    Im so torn on this release. I LOVE Epic more than any other GW game but theyve made so many fundamental mistakes here;
    1. Its 30k and not 40k: I want xenos! I play xenos!
    2. Price: always a GW issue... these models are PAINFULLY expensive. I already have STLs for every epic model I could want, so why would I pay crazy money for these?
    3. They changed the scale: Now my existing collection of epic models look weird/mis scaled next to the new ones (another reason to prefer 3d printed...).
    4. The Name: "Legiones Imperialis" has to be the worst, most confusing, most unforgettable name GW has ever come up with. Its called "Epic"!
    Why does GW always give with one hand while taking away with the other?
