/ @628dirtrooster I failed to mention it in the video but the reason we got this call is that our customer was trying to have cable installed at this property and the cable guy got attacked by these honey bees. He packed up his tools and said he wouldn't be back until the problem was dealt with. Our customer has long known that they had a bee hive in their soffit. With the end board missing on the fascia the hive was in plain view from the driveway so there's very little chance that they didn't know they had a hive. He never acknowledged knowing about the bees but I'm certain he knew they were there and that they had been for at least a couple of years.
We kept approximately four gallons of honey and probably ran another two gallons on the ground. We vacuumed around six pounds of bees.
No idiot bee removers were injured during the filming of this rather dangerous job.

Something you might consider; My local power co. has plastic insulation sleeves they slip over hot wires when there is power equipment being used near them. You might look into getting some of those for putting over the house feed wires for your safety.

I enjoy watching your video, I would like to continue, and therefore a bit of firm advice from someone who has worked around High Power lines. Remove all metal from your body. rings necklaces, watches, belt buckles. Wear long-sleeve shirts and full-length pants. This will make your obituary more distant in the future event.

All good wearing long sleeves until they melt and surgeons are picking bits of melted fabric out of your skin. Make sure its a thick top or better yet, flame retardant. Not just any long sleeve shirt with all due respect.
5 years ago i went through a 415v underground mains cable at work while breaking concrete with a jackhammer. Electricity is absolutely no joke and i am extremely lucky to have only got burns from the plasma flash and it didnt arc over to me. 3 explosions though
My trousers were melted up one leg, high viz vest melted to my hoody but luckily my hoody was thick and didn't melt and thank god i had no gloves on but most importantly some impact goggles that i spent 3pounds on which no doubt saved my eyes
      Be safe around cables!!

I used to replace electric services in homes. My first step was to go up to that building drop and cut and tape the wires. Then I could freely rip the service down. Final thing to do was to strip and reconnect those wires to the home prior to the job being inspected and "cut in" by our local power company. The likelihood of an accidental shock is minimal, but caution is never unwelcome.

Wouldn't a very cold water spraying have helped? I mean _VERY_ cold water, as in "with 4-5 ice cubes in the spray bottle cold," even?
ADDENDUM: Isn't the handsome young lad with you fellows small enough to necessitate a special *"child-sized restraint system"?* At less than 60#, I'm pretty sure that, at least in the State where I live, one of those systems _WOULD_ be required, but I don't know about the child safety laws in any of the Southern States. I just want him to be as safe as possible; he is adorable!
I was in a head-on collision at the age of 10, in a car with my best friend & her Mom. There weren't any search belts back then. It turned out that I was lucky, as I only got a fractured skull & concussion, but both my friend and her Mom were killed. _IF_ we had been wearing seat belts, both my friend & I would have had only minor injuries, if any. Sadly, even seat belts wouldn't have helped her Mom, as she was very short and drove with her seat pulled very far forward, and the steering columns WEREN'T the type that collapsed under impact. The force of the engine block onto the steering column completely crushed her chest, resulting in instant death. My friend went through the windshield at 55 mph. As I said, I was lucky. Seat belts and proper restraint systems *DO save lives.*

When I worked in powered switchboards, we had thin rubber mats that we put around and over the live wires and components we weren't working on.
We had two current levels on the sites where we worked, 230 and 400 volts.
The old timer that went into retirement used to lick his fingertips and "test" for what voltage there was in the wire.
    NOT RECOMMENDED!
He did it so he didn't mix up the two.
He was accurate but noone else took up his "traditional ways".
All the rest of us had measuring tools with us.

I was hoping you would show the baby turtles 🐢 . I love turtles 🐢!
There is a huge swamp near my house that the main road goes through and there is often turtles of various types crossing the road and I have stopped to help them when I can (especially with the curb). Pisses me off when I see people run them over. Unlike squirrels, 🐢 can't get out of the way of cars.

Um. Not gunna lie. I sat and watched the whole video weirded out from the first scene. Why are we outside at night with a pentagram outside on the table? I'm contacting mister Ed about a possible needed exorcism .

Rooster, we know you are a bear of a man, and the bees don't LIKE bears. They always go after your hair. If you had a full pelt, they would go after any part you left exposed. How you became a beekeeper and overcame that is a story I am still waiting to hear! Just saying...
Also, I am very glad you both managed to NOT get electrified. You should have a "danger fee" that is added for some of these calls!
Oh, I love that you took care and watched out for the turtles!

GA Power here disconnected the power to my house at the pole for a tree guy to do some work. They came right back and reconnected it. Your power company may do that also. It minimizes the excitement.

Hey in the future, if you call the power company before starting, they’ll send a lineman out to put shielding on those wires for you so it’s a little safer. Don’t think it costs anything.

If you ever have a situation like that again with a power line, you might want to consider wearing a pair of rubber boots to insulate yourself from ground.

Randy, if only there was a way to restore the energy and endurance lost when washing away that gray hair.🤣 That would be a miracle in a bottle, that’s for sure! That coastal humidity will sap every ounce of energy you have in less than 5 minutes at our age! West Central Florida on the coast, so I share your pain with this hotter than usual summer we are having. Hope your family is thriving!

Pipe insulation or pool noodles can be used to keep you from touching the wires.
