This is a mini documentary on African-Chinese Winnie Zhong Feifei, a mixed Black model in Asia and singer from idol show Produce Camp China Chuang 2020 (from original K-Pop franchise Produce 101). The Afro-Chinese (Chinese-Congolese) celebrity influencer spent some of her adolescence in Congo (Africa) and is now a Shanghai based fashion model who has worked with Vogue China.

I just wanna say thank you for everything you promote on your channel. As the video it’s end and I saw the suggested videos all of black people I started to realize how much of a blessing it is to actually see people like me being discussed all over a channel. I love to see our black excellence and beauty so thank you so much for promoting it 💗 not to mention the recognition of Africa and our nations it’s amazing 💗💗💗
@@joydot.dot.dot.8040 😭😭♥️ thank you so much! It makes me warm that I can make other Black people feel seen and happy from my content. Thank you for supporting my channel, hoping to bring more videos like this to you soon 💓
I think she got into modelling in china bcoz her chinese features is stronger and shes light skin
This is wonderful, I wish you'd make more videos more often. These are great.
@@Vanilla_Baker44 thanks! I wish too. Unfortunately videos like this take so long to make. I had to spend 14 days straight working on this video for at least 10 hours a day. I don’t have enough time to post videos like this very often, it’s not practical 😪
She’s freaking beautiful! They’re insulting her looks, but the stupid part is that she looks almost identical to any other Chinese woman except for her curly hair and her SLIGHTLY darker skin tone.
She's prettier than them, that's why they hate on her.
They are jealous. White folks are only 6000 years old on earth. Most people who look like them are also pretty recent. Black folks are the original humans. Hence the hate.
Facts 💯
true
Because she has dark skin….in China light skin is far more valued then a pretty facial structure….which is BS but it is what it is
I love Winnie’s response! Sometimes a person shouldn’t take the “high road” in certain situations.
She is one of the most stunningly beautiful people I have ever seen! Good on her for making her own way and not letting haters bring her down. She has a very bright future ahead of her.
Thank you so much for sharing about Zhong Feifei! I didn't know about her before and I just followed her on IG. Truly a beautiful woman, inside and out! ❤
Oh Ive known her from a survival show ..She is pretty talented too I instantly recognized her
It feels disappointing that I’m not surprised Chinese netizens would be automatically racist to her…I’m glad that didn’t derail her.
Racism is very much alive worldwide .... and in China even the very popular stars have to be careful about getting to much sun and thereby tanning a little too much.
Sad, but real.
Same thing in almost any country….
I graduated from Boston University as well, I think she's gonna be very successful in the future she's smart and beautiful, a winning combination. Her family must have a lot of money.
I’m curious, why do you think her family has a lot of money?
@@AdeolaAsh Most foreign students have to pay upfront for US universities. BU is almost $80k per year and John Hopkins would be similar.
@@tcams76 ahhh ok
@@AdeolaAshIt's possible she could have gotten a international scholarship, but most of those are big news.
I remember her from when produce camp came out. Great to see how far she's come and her inspiring journey :]
She’s gorgeous
This story is similar to Bruce Lee in a way. The Chinese hated Bruce for teaching foreigner Chinese martial arts. Also they didn't want him learning Wing Chun because his grandma was English. Making the Chinese people hating on him for not being full blooded Chinese. After he became a well renowned action star all the sudden the Chinese people claim him as their own. I have a feeling this young beautiful lady will have the same story. I hope she does well in life.
She is a very clear biracial East Asian woman. It’s a shame people will give her backlash when she looks so much like the racial majority there in China, just slightly darker skin and curly hair. Feifei’s been having a great career thus far, looking forward to what she has in store next.
biracial black women get this alot
@@serenitysubs933 she’s not biracial black, she’s simply biracial making her part Chinese& part Black, not one or other. If she’s biracial black, then she’s biracial Chinese too. Besides she doesn’t look black, looks more East Asian
she is a pretty girl, but do not look like racial majority there in China .it has nothing to do with skin or hair, there are dark skinned Chinese and much more nature curled hair ones than you think. it's the skull type and overall features, she is half and half. not looking chinese nor african or look both chinese and african . and that's who she is . And losers backlash she have nothing to do with her look, but because she if born of chinese mother and african father, if she has an african mother and a chinese father ,thosse losers will shut up.
@@thandisilec835 I think the term biracial black is being used in this context because people hold strong prejudice against Africans and black people and that's what she faced. It's just a term to group biracials with African heritage. If we're being specific, she is Chinese/Conglese, or Han/and what tribe/ethnic group her father was.
@@thandisilec835 she was receiving different treatment than she would have if she had been biracial Asian and white. So it was important to make the distinction that she was biracial mixed with black.
I love that she had opportunities to live long term in China, Congo and USA. Three vastly different continents. She understands the world like few people do. Very impressive young woman. An icon really.
As a black and Mexican girl who grew up with only Mexican culture I infact can say my identity crisis as a kid was sad. Congolese is not an ethnicity. It's a nationality. The ethnicities are Ba-Kongo, Ba-Luba and many others. We are not the same people. We are ethnically diverse and that should be celebrated.

Racism exists everywhere. I’m glad there were many Chinese netizens who came to her defence. I have a huge respect for black people, especially Martin Luther King Jr, who chose love over hate. Continue to stay in the light ☺️
Being mixed with black and anything is walking a tightrope Fr. Some ppl have so much hatred of blackness - they ignore it, despise it, project onto it- or exoticise you like you’re a curiosity. Strangely sometimes they do both. It really takes mastery and being secure in yourself in a way I can’t explain in short. It’s not a worse struggle than anyone else but it’s a unique one.
Sounds like extreme jealously

I am black and native American.. I grew up loving both of my parents cultures. My parents adore each other and have always embraced and taught their kids to love, accept, and embrace both cultures. Outside of our home we faced MANY prejudiced people who didn't want to accept us. We look different. We're very much a mix of our race. We're beautiful and proud of our family but not to that conceited degree lol ... we all have a mix of our cuktures hair.. its long black and very curly.. our full lips that momma always says are our daddy's lips, and our defined cheekbones who daddy says are mommas "model cheeks" make us stand out. The cruel name I was called was nigage... a made up word that combined the n word and savage. Which is what people call natives. Mean right!!??!! It hurt. But I always came home crying and was wrapped up in love and care by my beautiful family and ended up saying I don't care what they say. So I can relate to this beautiful young lady and I pray she's wrapped up in love and care so she can grow and love herself no matter what cruel people say.
It’s true..you are beautiful as you are, don’t let other people define you except God and your loving-supporting family 💛

notice how idols like somi, kai, bahiyhiyhh and alexa are praised for their "beauty" but when its anything bar white its criticized
Exactly
Sadly
Kai and Bahiyyih still get a ton of hate for only being half korean tho. They've been hated since debut. Especially Bahiyyih is one of the most hated idols right now. Everyone calls them rats or horses cause their half white. People just like being racist. Hope the model in this video continues to have a successful career.
@@bridgetortega-robison1904 True but thats only when she debuted on girls planet 999. She was only getting hate cuz ppl thought she only was able to debut cuz her brother has already debuted and TXT fans were paying for extra votes. Still unsure if thats true since most mnet shows are already scripted even before fans can vote. But I dont think she is getting that exact same hate now it has died down for sure.
@@nelliebellie2222 The hate against Bahiyyih hasn't died at all. The ot8 subreddit is still up posting vile stuff about her everyday, people burn her photocards when they receive them, call line distributions fair when she has few lines, and spread rumors about her having a "bad attitude" and bullying the other members (this is especially bad with their Japanese fanbase on twitter). There are also several hate channels and accounts on RUclips and Tiktok still that haven't been taken down despite reports. Even complimenting Bahiyyih on a Kep1er video can bring out the ot8 accounts. As a Kep1ian, it's bad, and the rumors ot8s spread clashing with the toxic portion of Bahiyyih's Solo stans calling for the group to disband has the fandom in shambles right now.
This made me so emotional because I too am congolese and when I was younger i used to look up congolese models and there wasn't much but after i watched your video of jenny park I was curious to see if there was a congolese one aswell. I don't get how discriminatory these asian countries can be. Yet they are heavily influenced by black culture when it comes to entertainment. There would be no such thing as kpop, cpop, jpop without the influence of black culture. All it is, is them mimicking what they see. Rapping, certain singing styles they love to imitate, hip hop/pop/jazz style dancing (among others) all come from black people. So sad.

That comment about some Chinese people worshipping white people / white mixes is so true sadly. It’s pathetic.
One of my little sisters is half Chinese and half gabonese (central africa) and she only endures this kind of treatment when she’s amongst her mum’s Chinese family or goes to visit there. She’s definitely more african in education and way of living and how she identifies herself. We grew up between africa and Europe and its crazy how even in Gabon they nickname her la chinoise. In our household my parents always made her embrace both her cultures. She’s 21 now and beautiful comfortable with herself and confident with her identity❤ i hate to say hit but a big majority of chinese people can be some of the most discriminating people towards poc yet they invaded our continent so much in the last 15 years. My father rest his soul who worked as a diplomat and was worldly made us discover the world as one and open to all cultures. Its a blessing i wish everyone was more like that❤
How have the Asians been so successful at invading so much of Africa despite how discriminatory they are to blacks/Africans? Why are the African MEN, whose job it is to protect and build for their people, allowing this? Why are they selling their own continent to people who see them as less-than? Why? Why are they always getting taken advantage of and made a fool of by other races?
Coming from a Gabonese, tell your sister that she is a jewel among us coz she representes the link between two strong cultures which is a strength, and that she will pass on to her children. Love to my mix African people. 🇬🇦🇬🇦🇬🇦🇬🇦

@@AdeolaAsh Thanks for clearing that up, I'll edit the comment
I watched the show too. I don't think she got eliminated because of racism. I think she didn't try to go out for bigger parts when it came to line division. I felt like perhaps she was nervous because of her lack of music experience. I remember feeling disappointed that she didn't try for more lines in the song distribution. I don't think it had anything to do racism. I think it likely led to lack of votes.
Anyway, I'm glad that the show seemed to lead her to getting/going for more opportunities.
My hope is that Africans will rise and have the power to punish their detractors. That time is coming.

The funny thing is their "ancestors" were dark-skinned people. Even in the late 1800s early 1900s, there were dark-skinned Chinese. They tend to argue that it was because they were working out in the fields but from what I've researched, that's not entirely true. And let me add, Asians are very vulnerable to European ways of thinking which turn into racism that they themselves don't even know why they feel that way. But if you do your research, colonization hit Africa AND Asia. It was a full assault on Indigenous dark-skinned people. If you weren't European, you were seen as "backward people" but if your skin was close to white, you caught a break. Hence why a lot of Asians adopt a mindset that is not mainly theirs in origin toward so-called Black people or Africans.
There are still dark skin Chinese. Most Chinese people are brown without the use of products
@@zorenwhite7886 Oh, they have ancestors that were even darker than the brown-skinned Chinese of today. Pictorial evidence and all. ruclips.net/video/zu0To-RoLDQ/видео.html

Wow, what an extraordinary young woman! So inspiring, smart and gorgeous! So glad to hear so many voices spoke up in support of her - racism is a poison all over the world. I am half-Chinese too, but half-British background, so I have been more privileged. The difference in treatment between that and being half-African/Black breaks my heart every time.
I have met biracial people who are White and Asian who faced hardships. Maybe not bad as someone who is part Black, but it is still mean. People can be stupid.
The irony when a lot of Chinese are dark and use a hell of a lot of bleaching products. Which isn't solely a Chinese thing, overall Asia has a huge problem with skin bleaching products. If you visit your oriental markets almost every aisle has a bath section and one of the main words you'll see on our soaps and lotions, are the words lightening, bleaching , and whitening.
My own grandparents(which makes me laugh more) always favored my cousins cuz they were lighter in skin and eyes and had straighter hair smh.

Mixed race children are always so beautiful ! She is beautiful !
thanks for highlighting her! I love everything about Winnie, how outwardly yet internal her focus is. Shes a strong one and I sincerely hope that comes from a place of love and acceptance from her family first. Learning to accept yourself as you are from a young age is so important. So glad to see her doing well!!
An absolute queen, one of my favorite contestants from Chuang 2020, she did great overall, but she did absolutely incredible considering the training time she had, super smart and super talented, this girl has it all!!
What a beautiful positive piece. Thank you for sharing this. Your presentation is beautiful! I first saw Winnie on Produce 101 and cheered for her as if she own daughter. Her struggles are real and represent those of so many. But her triumphs are bigger. Thank you for reminding us how important it is to live our truth!
she is GORGEOUS straight hair OR curly hair... simply beautiful
