      You will always get racism - Naomi Campbell has got racism for over 30 years as a model and is still a working model and Iman ( David's wife) still gets racist comments and she is in her 60s -Hun that is not going to stop . However as the racists are not bookng her and paying her large sums of money - they can only access her via social media. while she is flying around the world for the next 30 -40 years . They will still be racist but her career wont stop.

When I first got interested in Korean culture and K-pop, there were basically no non-Korean and mixed idols ( other than Yoon Mirae). Now seeing many Japanese, Chinese, Thai, even Vietnamese, Filipino, Indian, and Brazilian idols and all combos within, it's just, truly a miracle. • @MC-ib5xc
      @MC-ib5xc Год назад +31

      @@shardtheicedragon as a Korean I would say the hate is more the older generation. Younger kids are so self absorbed and feel very detached from history so they don’t feel strongly either way I feel. Plus, there are SO many foreigners in S. korea now so many young Koreans have friends that are from another country now. The elderly are a different story because they were more affected by history. For China, I feel they felt mostly heated about Kimchi and Hanbok. Not really as much as about the rest you mentioned. But the deep pain/anger is more towards Japan not China. Obviously being a colony there was a lot of injustice and many unofficial apologies and Japan telling its people (unofficially) that they did apologize and gave money to Koreans but some corrupt Korean just squandered it that why no one knows about it. Koreans saying that never happened and there is no record of it except on Japan’s side saying that they did officially apologize and give money (or so many Japanese who hate Koreans say on social media)so it’s an endless argument. Did something unofficially happen like that? Maybe or maybe not. There are corrupt people in every country. Who knows. But if it was official, there is no way there would be an argument if it happened or not. Globally, other countries recognize that Japan never officially apologized and many other countries don’t too. It’s all for political reasons countries don’t do it officially. If someone did do it officially, the whole world would know and there wouldn’t be an argument if they did or didn’t. There is never an argument if a treaty between two countries happened or not because it’s official- even during ancient times. But still this argument is always heated and endless. It’s all water under the bridge. Can’t change the past anyway. There are more important things in life than Kimchi or hanbok. I guess I’m of the younger mindset of 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess at this point we should just recognize that Japan will never officially apologize. But elderly people are still upset. In the future, it will die down when the younger generation takes over.

      I will say, I am very aware of all the issues therein of other cultures being disrespectful and abusive to the others. I've been a fan of K-pop for over 12 years now, so I've seen my fair share of favoritism and racism, xenophobia, colorism, etc. And I do know how much easier it is for Chinese and Japanese idols to come into kpop, but they face lots of abusive from the companies, Korean general public, international fans, even the members. But at this point, it's becoming less commonplace and people are facing more concequences from behaving in such a way.

Jenny sometimes makes me wonder what my life might have been like had I grown up in Korea. But I think our experiences would have been drastically different. I’m much older than her. She could be my daughter lol. She is adorable and it makes me happy to see her paving ways and bringing more recognition for us Blasians out here. ❤

    What I also find interesting about the anti-Black racism in South Korea is how much that country has profited off of K-Pop which appropriates hip-hop and R&B. Both of those music genres were created and dominated by African-Americans. Although Jenny is half-Nigerian she is still of the Black diaspora. South Korea's racism is so hypocritical because they profit off of Black culture so much.
