Gabor is an amazing drummer and who wouldn't wish to achieve some of his independence. He made it in 28 years, so I wish I had another 56 years to practice :-) The part I liked the most was Gabor giving advice (1.03 - 1.06 ) to not only advanced but new players, which really proves that he's a drum-community-artist. Impressive lesson to all of us! Very inspiring - not frustrating! Give him a hug, Dave!
My favorite part of the lesson is Gabor's disposition and attitude. You can't help but feel happy after watching this. This guy loves what he does and is very passionate about mastering his craft. He is very down to earth and the kind of guy that I like to "hang" with. Oh yeah, he is very talented!! Well done. Thank you Drumeo!
Gabor is a total gentleman, met him at a BIMM masterclass last year, had us utterly speechless! My favourite part of the video was seeing his mirror setup once again. HE'S AN OCTOPUS!
Simply the best of the best! Need to have him back more! He is so modest. Some guys show off, but he demonstrates his knowledge and talent through his musical ability. Need more guys like this! Thank you!
The best part of this lesson for me was something even greater than the drumming, it was Gabor's attitude, teaching ability and extreme passion!!! All things that make him an inspiration! I am sure this one lesson will inspire many to get better both at drumming, but also as a person! Thank you Gabor and Drumeo!
I love Gabor's left foot advice at the end but the first ten minutes for me was awesome. It's a breath of fresh air to hear the different sounds he's incorporated and it is far better than just flying around the kit as when do you hear that sort of drumming in any song. Gabor, you are an amazing drummer.
REMEMBER to comment your favourite part of the lesson and you'll be automatically entered to WIN a NEW 17" S Zildjian Crash! This new cymbal line from Zildjian has not been released yet, so you'll be one of the very first owners! +Drumeo my favorite part is how he switches off with the different grips into his playing of the songs. It is very eyeopening to me how he uses double bass for Stream. I usually only have seen double bass for heavy metal players.
My favorite part of the lesson with Gabor was just watching how much joy he got from playing the drums. You can tell that he loves playing and performing for people. Thanks Drumeo for bringing Gabor in for this lesson.
I really enjoy watching the Mr.Dornyei bringing basics such as single strokes to such a musical context even in a latin setting it sounds amazing thank you drumeo and thank you Mr. Dornyei.
I'm repeating myself but the one thing I love about this drumeo classes is getting to know drummers from all over the world. Nowadays it's hard to convince students the benefits of practice and having patience with it so my favorite part was when Gabor said it took time and lots of practice to develop his ideas.
Incredible coordination and 4 limb independence. I am watching this lesson again after watchin it live. That is my favorite part about this lesson and Drumeo. Drumeo affords EVERYONE the opportunity to enjoy a great lesson and great drummers. Thanks.
I've watched this 3 times now and still trying to take everything in. Gabor's explanation of each part is brilliant, he makes it look so simple. My favourite part of the lesson was the creating a shaker sound with hi hats, so simple but wonderfully effective. I've already started adding percussion into my playing. Thank you so much for the lesson Drumeo.
Had the pleasure of having Gabor as a tutor for one of my lessons back at ICMP, what a great guy. Loved it when he demonstrated the Budapest Groove, making use of percussion while behind the kit.
This lesson was crazy inspiring! Gabor's passion, his attitude, and cool personality was just motivating! The guy can have all limbs playing a different crazy time signature and make sound so fluid and easy - just SICK!!! Awesome SICK! Thank you for having him on Drumeo! Out-FREAKING-standing!
My FAVORITE part of the lesson is his jamming at the start. it combined with the music reminds me of music a lot of movies in the 80s and 90s use to have while the credits rolled at the beggining of the movie. As a kid I always, for some reason, loved the opening themes to movies and this brought back all kinds of good nostalgic feelings. Plus, Gabor prefectly combines feel and technique, something I've always had trouble with.
I have been at work all day, finally got to check out the lesson I have seen some of Gabor stuff on you tube , I have learned a lot watching him , he's very inspiring, and super smooth with his playing, thanks for the video, AWESOME !!!!! LOVE EVERYTHING DRUMEO DOES!!!!!!!!! KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK GUYS !!!!!!!!!!
My favorite part was just how clearly Gabor explained his approach to all his techniques and ideas. I'm always impressed when I see drummers so effortlessly lead with either hand. Great drummer, great lesson.
My favourite part is when he rides with both hands. It sounds just incredible! His speed and accuracy around the kit gives a complete percussive experience to the viewe! The new crash sounds incredible!!
fantastic lesson. thanks all. Gabor's independence and combination of sounds and styles is astounding. my favorite moment: 'you still got to groove it'.
Love his style of drumming - it's wonderfully technical without being sterile and his passion is contagious. I'm inspired to experiment a lot further. Thanks Gábor.
My favorite part is how Gabor is so profficient in Latin rhythms like forward clave, reverse clave, mambo, samba, and many more! This doesn't narrow down my favorite part of the lesson because it practically is the the whole of it! I also enjoyed how much he loves what is doing while he is playing, he's a true musician.
My favourite part is the Q&A! Especially the first question where he encourages to listen to all kinds of music. I feel like thats a thing many drummers would benefit from a LOT!
All the while the Sun is shining so very brightly on this somehow special day, my 66th birthday :-), I just can't help listening to and enjoying Gábor Dörnyei's incredibly amazing drumming - his sublime sound, superb technique, utter musicality & obvious love of playing his fabulous drums and cymbals :-)
First thanks again to Drumeo for yet another great lesson! Gabor you are more then very talented on the drums! Thanks for sharing with us! I loved the freedom in which you have independence. My favorite part was you playing doubles with both feet on the bass drum while playing the toms with the right hand going from tom to tom and playing Clave with the left hand on the blocks all at the same time. Awesome independence! Awesome lesson! Thank You!
my christ, the number of different things Gabor can do at anyone time on that kit is crazy, by far my favourite part of the lesson was that mental groove with the two hi-hats, double bass pedal, and foot clave. Amazing guy!
My favorite part was when I noticed that he was using the same ride I bought a few weeks ago (K Custom Organic, I believe).. I got so pumped! That thing is my new best friend.
My favourite part of the video was when Mr. Dornyei introduced the 5 over 4 pattern, i had been practicing that kind of pattern before but i never got to analyze the meanings of it, i really liked the approach he gave to that pattern and the coordination he has is just crazy. As a result i became inspired and bought some latin blocks to try these grooves in my kit. so thank you Mr. Dornyei for showing us these amazing grooves and to Drumeo for bringing you!
The groove with the 16th notes on the hi-hat pedals was my favourite part. I just loved his use of percussive elements on a regular drumkit. Very cleverly done.
Hey, Gabs is my tutor, Such an inspiration, I love this video, absolutely fantastic, Love the section where gabs explains the Latin rhythm about 40 Minutes in, independence and phenomenal explanation of how it all comes together.
Two sticks in one hand at 14:00... Gabs you're a machine!! You have such great co-ordination and independent limbs it's unreal! I'm so glad to be having lessons with you, hopefully some of this will rub off!!
Omg I'm watching this at 1.30 am. From unheard of to maybe my favourite drummer. 42 mins, wow. What an astonishing player. Beyond Weckl. I'm speechless.
This guy is absolutely phenomenal! The intro song is amazing, that was probably my favorite part of the video. His feel and dynamics for the kit is out of this world.
besides his playing being the obvious favorite part..it was really refreshing to hear a master of drumming talk about listening to different styles outside of a comfort zone to open your playing and influences.
Ok I decided because I think it left the most wow factor on me! My favorite was the very beginning! The opening of stream just left my jaw dropped!!! One of the best players I've ever seen!!
My favourite part of the lesson, aside from his playing ideas, is when at 38:33 he explains the reasons of his drums kit set up which is definitely not following the standards and it means to think out of the box and it links to his comfortable way to play open-handed as in the first song ( 1:22 ) and it also is coherent with what he says and suggest to all at 57:49 about utilising the master knowledge to come up with your own ideas. It's awesome you had him at Drumeo! Great Musician and a great person!!
I really enjoyed the Hi hats playing the shaker part while adding in the bass drum and cow bell. Dude can do so much with just his feet and sound smooth.
My favorite part is how knowledgeable Gabor is about playing; he understands everything that hes playing (whether its a 8th note or a triplet groove.) And he doesn't play anything that he doesn't mean to, everything is well thought out and has musical value. There are incredible players out there, but much to often those players aren't even able to explain to you the grooves that they're playing or why they decided to play that particular groove. Overall, great lesson from an incredible player.
Hi Guys, i was impressed obout the Possibilities.... thanks Gabor... you have inspired me to do something else than only hit the drums.. just bought some Percussionstuff to mount on my drums... ...an thanks to Drumeo - you allways open the focus for something new... carry on - Greets from Switzerland
I like how he switches his leading hands. Like left hand on the left side ride then he moves the groove with the right hand on the right side ride Reminds me of a more jazzy Simon Phillips. Thank you Pearl for the amazing kit. sounded really nice.
My favourite part of the lesson was seeing his ambidextrousness with being able to play double time swing on both hands and the independence of his limbs, especially his feet. Really inspired me to practise a lot more!
Wow, easily my favorite lesson. This guy is crazy, i love how he's able to explain everything so clearly. Definitely a born teacher. My favorite part tho? That in depth explanation of his quarter septuplet over 4's. Helped me a lot
My favorite part was when Gabor's face lit up once he began playing that sweet jazz shuffle on the left ride. So smooth and sounds so groovy. I cannot wait until I will be able to play that. Much practice, many grooves.
My favorite thing about this is his effortless flow. No matter what he does with all four limbs at any given time he can just jump right into it at any point and never miss a beat. There's a song I play with my band, which has a shuffle beat, where I get some independence going and feel fairly comfortable with it, but that doesn't even scratch the surface of what Gabor does here. One of the most impressive displays I've seen.
The intro was definitely my favourite part! He didn't have to force any of those fills/grooves, his natural drumming was displayed perfectly! By the way, loved it when he swapped his drumsticks with the hot rods mid-song!
i absolutely loved the entire lesson.. There's no way I could single out just 1 thing. Gabor Dornyei has absolutely awesome independence.. This was a awesome lesson.. Thanks guy's!!!!!!!
Man i like the parts in which Gábor plays which an immense amount of joy, which captures his style of playing extremely. Haven't watched everything yet, but I'm exited to watch the rest at home later this evening :D
the Independence tip for beginners is fantastic, and it was great to see more "Latin" grooves worked into non-latin music. the grooves were broken down well to be understood easily. awesome lesson!
Gabor I haven't played drums since I was 20 and now have a pearl kit that I can't wait to play after seeing your skills with the lips, cow bell and tambourin, fantastic - Mike
my favorite part was how blown away I was at how much one person can have such independence…good grief! This is way over the top, in a good way, for someone who has been only drumming for a few years now. Makes me realize what is truly possible…and it brings me back to my motto for 2016…time and patience! crazy great lesson.
Frustrating and inspiring at the same time. Gabor is awesome! I don't know if I'm going to spend the rest of my life practicing, or I will start thinking about stop playing drums, because I will never be able to achieve just one percent of his skills and drum independence......astonishing!! The part I enjoyed the most was the part where he explained how to use the two hi-hats incorporating the bass drum! Thank you for this awesome lesson!
My favorite part of the video is the entire video because I enjoyed 100% of every part and his drumming in this whole hour has changed my life, thanks to Drumeo! -J :)
My favorite part is a tie between his playing and the lessons he shared. I love listening to his talent and I'm so glad I'm getting an understanding of it now!
Aside from the amazing stick tricks across the china and snare, the general use and the way he moves around the drum set is so mesmerizing, I could make a gif out of that and watch it endlessly
Thanks Drumeo for another great lesson! I love the main groove on the first song. I love all of the subtle stick twirls. One night in Tunisia was excellent. Thanks for the inspiration!
I'M PLAYING DRUMS FOR OVER 40 YEARS , YOU AMAZED ME . I CANNOT SAY THIS TO MANY ,,,,,, MAYBE MY FAVORITE DRUMMER FOR PURE TECHNIQUE .
Gabor is an amazing drummer and who wouldn't wish to achieve some of his independence. He made it in 28 years, so I wish I had another 56 years to practice :-)

super proud to say he's been my teacher when I was studying at Icmp in London...wonderful person and amazing drummer! Miss him very much!
Awwwwwww...Your too kind! Bless: Gabs
My favourite part is when I recognize my teacher behind the drums :D An amazing drummer, teacher and above all, human being :)
The intro was the BEST, it shows you exactly how talented this young man is. VERY PERCUSSIONIST, VERY UNIQUE SKILL.

My fav part of the lesson is your hihat timing and incredible stick control. And that hat too.
My favourite part of the lesson was seeing his ambidextrousness with being able to play double time swing on both hands and the independence of his limbs, especially his feet. Really inspired me to practise a lot more!
I watched it live and it was just stunning, I'm re-watching it now, and it keeps getting better! Favourite part? All of it!
Wow, easily my favorite lesson. This guy is crazy, i love how he's able to explain everything so clearly. Definitely a born teacher. My favorite part tho? That in depth explanation of his quarter septuplet over 4's. Helped me a lot

My favourite part of the lesson was how excited Gábor looked playing the 101 Shuffle. He's clearly living the dream!
Really nice lesson Gabor!! You are legend! Thanks to the people at Drumeo for all the amazing work they are doing for the drumming community!!
My favourite part is just watching him drum. So passionate. Also his humour is my kind of humour!
Loved the groove he played in the beginning. His cymbals sound amazing, and his playing style is extraordinary
The intro was definitely my favourite part! He didn't have to force any of those fills/grooves, his natural drumming was displayed perfectly! By the way, loved it when he swapped his drumsticks with the hot rods mid-song!
Great lesson! "101 Shuffle" by the Dave Weckl Band was definitely my favorite part!
I just loved his soft ghost notes and roll variation in the intro solo
My favorite part was all his amazing and intricate fills that he does out of no where. He's an amazing drummer and a big role model.
i absolutely loved the entire lesson..

Around 35:00... talking about the illusion of different time signatures... love this concept!
the way that floor tom+kick+china sounds is amazing. dropped my jaw
the part that i love, was when he, show all combinations for a funky rithm, inclusive using double pedal. OMG! awwesoooome grooove!
The first song is just amazing. Thanks drumeo for bringing drummers of such a great quality
I loved that beginning groove. he's got a killer kit as well, lots of cool stuff going on.
My God. Just when I discover a drummer who blows me away, another one comes along that does it again. The bar just keeps getting higher and higher.
the Independence tip for beginners is fantastic, and it was great to see more "Latin" grooves worked into non-latin music. the grooves were broken down well to be understood easily. awesome lesson!
Gabor I haven't played drums since I was 20 and now have a pearl kit that I can't wait to play after seeing your skills with the lips, cow bell and tambourin, fantastic - Mike

Check out that smile during 101 Shuffle at the end! Contagious!!
Gabor dornyei explained in the most easiest way to understand... Gonna practice my limb independence everyday and improve in the next few months!!!
Frustrating and inspiring at the same time. Gabor is awesome! I don't know if I'm going to spend the rest of my life practicing, or I will start thinking about stop playing drums, because I will never be able to achieve just one percent of his skills and drum independence......astonishing!! My favorite part is a tie between his playing and the lessons he shared. I love listening to his talent and I'm so glad I'm getting an understanding of it now!
I loved the 101 shuffle. Very inspirational super drummer. He had already taught me a lot in the first minute! Keep it up drumeo !!!!!!!!
