Every time I get sad or upset with myself I watch studio apartment tours. I like to think that even if I am not suited to being around other people, I can live a very happy life in solitude somewhere far away where I can make my own decisions and be myself.
Apartment tour videos are pretty relaxing, I use to think the same thing and imagine myself living in a far off beach town. Hope all is well and who knows maybe one day you will be giving your own studio tour
Wow😳 I’m only 15 but I seriously wanna travel (or live in) Taiwan, it’s such a beautiful and underrated country you barley hear ppl talk about it
You are right it is so under the radar! Great for traveling and living!
ME TOO!!! Hopefully by the time I get to move there it's still underrated so the price doesn't go up, (i'm 15 too btw)
@@swldnsstory9843 Oh cool XD I'm 16 now so after i Finish my two years Of school In the UK I'm gonna try to enroll In a uni In Taiwan!
@@weirdgirl3405 nice! Im planning on enrolling too, is it the National Taiwan University?
Lol so we are all 16 now what are ur thoughs now I am just asking out of curiosity
That ROOFTOP area SOLD ME!! That must look amazing at night as well.
Rooftops are nice, I miss having such easy access to the sun!
Thank you for informative and enjoyable tour! Someday, I am willing to visit Taiwan.
Thank you! Would be great if you were able to come visit, there are so many things to do and places to go!
the quality of your video comparing with first apartment tour with this one is huge haha very nice dude
Thank you! Yes... I sometimes wonder what I was thinking on some older videos haha
Awesome work your doing here Joe!! My hobby now is to watch all your apartment tour videos haha ♡
Could you make a video about the renting process and some sort of tips for avoid being cheated?
Thanks in advance xo
Thank you for the kind words! I also watch apartment tours from time to time! Hmm I have an old old video that talks about it a bit but its so old that its embarrassing! I think I will have to do an updated one in the future! Now I am on a walk around the island and it's hard to edit but ill try!
Thank you for the apartment tour. Very informative.
Thank you! Will you move to Taiwan?
@@Travelingjoe I'm still doing my research and deciding between Vietnam and Taiwan. I'll be pursuing an ESL position.
It's a nice apartment, Joe!
Thank you! Would love a tour of what an apartment in Saudi looks like!
I miss Taiwan! Definitely would want to go back when all the covid 19 lockdown ends
I hope it ends soon... Okinawa is so close but yet so far! 😓
Thank u, Joe for translating the money. Ur kitty girl is truly adoreable. U must have lots of fun watching her.
Katherine Wagoner the best roommate one could ask for ! Haha
awesome tour, Joe! I’ll be apartment hunting soon in Taipei, so this is super helpful - thank you. I noticed your voice track came out perfectly. Did you have a wireless mic? Would love to learn what equipment you use. Cheers!
Hey! Welcome to Taipei and good luck with your apartment hunting I just found a new place as well! For my mic I bought a microphone around 15USD or so at 光華商場, which is full of all the electronics. I usually buy any video/audio equipment there.
I just tried to find a link online which ill post at the bottom, pretty sure it was something like this not sure if is exactly the same model and all that. Are you going to be making videos as well?

@@Travelingjoe Thanks! I forgot about 光華商場, such a good one stop shop. My intention is to produce occasional videos, but will see how things unfold. Cheers!
@@Travelingjoe and congrats on your new place!
My partner is from Taiwan, we’d like to visit his family there when he’s out of graduate school and I’m out of nursing school. It looks like such a beautiful place, I hope we get to check it out more one day!
Best of luck with nursing and graduate schools! Sounds like you two will need a nice place like Taiwan to rest and vacation after graduating! 加油!
Nice apartment and well intro! One quick question. Are all furnitures and appliances included?
In this case they were because I am only subletting for now
Ok. Thanks for the update. I am also looking for a nice place to rent. Just moved from the States a few months ago. Maybe I will consider sublet as well. Thanks, Joe.
Got super bad deja vu when watching this. Then I realized I have been inside this apartment, and I know the woman who used to live here.
Hey! I suppose we have a mutual friend then because I was just cat sitting for her for three months while she was in South Africa, volunteering with cheetahs, what a small world! 😆
@@Travelingjoe Yep I remember she said she was going to South Africa. Small world
Interesting!
*Wow ; nice sharing .*
Thank you!
thanks big!
No worries! I have a new apartment video coming out later today that is in a similar in price range if your interested!
@@Travelingjoe yes, maybe, I am very likely relocating to Taiwan soon, by September. hope to be married there. some strong possibilities. so two bedroom might be good!👍🏻
@@jerrybaker5774 Good luck on your Taiwan journey! 加油加油!
I love your cat
Thanks! Sadly I was just cat sitting so now I don't see my long lost friend quite as much
Thanks for the tour... it's weird that that place has no kitchen. Normally, an apartment that size would have some sort of actual kitchen (could be on the balcony, as well).
Very true! I think it might be because it is a rooftop structure.. 🤔
@@Travelingjoe - Ahhh yes... a quasi-legal rooftop addition! No wonder you passed that giant machine on the way in...
Nice word choice, although cheaper... possibly quasi-legal 哈哈
請教你筆電💻的尺寸和廠牌?(brand and size of your notebook, please?)
very good is apartemnt in taiwan
Lots of nice ones that are hidden away!
$570 not bad, can you stay short term like 1-3 months? Also do they require large deposits or middle man agency fees or is it flexible and you just may first month for first month rent
You can definitely find places that allow short term or month to month rentals (although some will raise the monthly rent in return). I find standard deposits here to run you 2 months rent.. which is kind of a lot, especially if you are only renting for a short time like 3 months..
I have run into landlords that are willing to negotiate on the deposits, however the standard seems to be 2 months deposit plus the 1st month rent on move in day 😬
@@Travelingjoe I am sure I will survive that provided I get back the deposit.
Is it allow to stay just for a month only,
Hello Joe, I live in 板橋區 during my childhood. The flat I used to live in is similar to your flat . May I know what is your point of view living in Taiwanese flat compare to your life in the United States ?
板橋 seems nice! (They opened a new MRT line to 板橋 last year) I need to explore that area more! I certainly do miss a few things about the USA, like being able to drive in my car on big nice roads with a lot of space.
As far as apartments go I think... I think you for sure get more bang for you buck so to speak in the USA... Maybe that was because I was in Virginia and Taipei is more similar to NYC or something. The one thing I have regretted about my time in Taiwan is that I have lived solely in Taipei...I have heard the apartment situation is better in other cities!
I want to see the other apartments.
Another apartment tour is in the works!
Taiwan home ist good I'm like Taiwan
Taiwan is great!
I wonder how much this apartment would be now
Probably about the same, it’s a bit out of the city center so more affordable. Also it’s a “rooftop structure” (cough cough not technically legal) which lowers the cost.
I see the cooking area, but I don't see a stove. Did I miss something?
We used a portable stove, which are pretty common in Taiwan. So whenever we are done cooking we just put it away until next time~
@@Travelingjoe
Thanks for the clarification. Some apartments do not provide a hotplate as the landlord prefers no cooking in the unit.
Expensive!
I thought it is pretty good! 😁 haha
What is the monthly rental here in ntd?
The monthly rental at this apartment was 16,000 if I remember correctly!
Is it in taipei?
@@muneerhussain9944 it’s in New Taipei City about two metro stops out of the city~
Tysm
Taiwan also have the cutest gorillas at their zoo. lol
I should go visit I haven't been to the zoo in forever!
It’s 22”8” memorial park” not 223…
Nice catch!
I just realised that the picture in the screen showing the numbers on the lift has a picture of Singapore in the background 😂😂😂
Nice catch! I didn't even know that 😆
看來,你過得不錯嘛!
Is this an illegal apartment in Taipei on-top of a building?
Indeed this is one of those infamous rooftop structures 😆
Super nice apartment! I'm wondering if you ever see cockroaches. Thanks.
Emerald M luckily I have never seen one here ! However in my first apartment in Taiwan that was a bit of a problem 😵
@@Travelingjoe Thanks for the info.!
Thats expensive, lux condo in KL
How much for 1 month?
Hello! I was subletting this apartment for about 7000TWD per month. So when adding in utilities it was under $250 USD per month
However I had a roommate who payed the other half so in total it would have been 16,000TWD or about $550 USD
Okay, thank you for in the information brother.
@@rizalsaputra892 Good luck in your house search!
Do that cat have arms
I promise she has arms! LOL
Little white lion
This should be her new nickname! 😄
Hellow how are you broh
Not bad!
The 'kitchen' is a little off putting.
It is pretty much a makeshift kitchen~ Many apartments and studios will either lack kitchens altogether or have small kitchenettes
@@Travelingjoe for me that’s tough. I cook all three meals and would be miserable eating out health wise. I’d have to wait and buy a high end apartment in Daan area that has a kitchen
Um is your car okay? Lol
Sadly but also conveniently I have no car in Taiwan~
Looks old.
yes many homes for rent in Taiwan will be a bit older
Uuff from a Westerner point of view, this is a dump!
The view sucks its dirty !
