I can confirm that 591 has by far the best apartments and houses. Also can confirm it´s 99% in Chinese only. If you can add the agency or the landlord via LINE it´s not a problem tp write in english or use google translator. As soon as it comes to a real contract, you definitely need someone you can trust, especially in the "rural" areas in Taiwan. Just moved in our new apartment in Miaoli County, and the contract was ...uff... nice people and everything, but no english speaking or writing. Also don´t forget the "stamp". I let do everything be done by my girlfriend :D
Yes! It's definitely helpful to have a friend help in regards to 591. I was able to call landlords (since not all have LINE available on the listings) but a friend had to translate the contract for me! Congrats on your find 😉
Whooo! Jenn is awesome. I found you when I started researching Taiwan on my own, but Jenn is aboslutely the reason I started researching Taiwan though. lol. I've been following her since Japan. Or at least I THOUGHT I was. RUclips did that thing where I got all the notifications for her videos but apparently was never subscribed? Or it unsubbed me. IDFK. I make sure regularly that I'm subbed now. lol
Hahaha I think Jenn is the reason a lot of people are interested in Taiwan since they followed her from Japan. If you notice, most viewers of RUclipsrs in Taiwan are Taiwanese since people from the West are usually interested in Japan or South Korea before they think of Taiwan. But I'm glad she has brought her audience here. I think Taiwan will soon be more on the radar for Westerners 🤩
@@KaylaCosmos It definitely should be. I think the problem, especially in America, is that people get this crazy idea about how AMAZING and life changing Japan is going to be, or how GLAMEROUS and BEAUTIFUL they are going to be in South Korea. Then they get there and the culture isn't much different from America. Work to live, live to work. America even being the most relaxed of those three. lol Taiwan seems to have a better mix of living and life. lol I'm sure there are the people who live to work, but it genuinely seems like everyone is more concerned with having a good day/bringing color and light into their lives. I'm just genuinely interested in learning more about Taiwan in general. lol
@@MarkandMarie Yes! Exactly! Even as a kid I was obsessed with Japan. When I was between places to teach English I didn't pick Japan because of the conformist culture and work ethic being harder. I also thought of South Korea because the money is good but again, maybe a tougher work culture? Lastly tho, Taiwan earned my spot because the weather hahaha. I was tired of the cold and Korea and Japan can get quite cold. Korea and Japan are definitely both awesome but Taiwan has a lot as well! It just needs something that draws the world in like Japan and Korea do.
@@KaylaCosmos I feel like Taiwan already has it, we just need more excellent RUclipsrs like Jenn and yourself to show the world what Taiwan's got. xD Taiwan has definitely got me regretting jumping into my M.A. immediately, but at the same time, I got an offer I could not refuse. lolol
Hiii, I’m going to be in Taiwan for 2 months and I was wondering if you’d be willing to help me find accommodation and/or suggest a good area to stay in
What is center Taipei? Center to what? The thing with Taipei is that it has no so called downtown unlike western cities. Is Neihu the center? Is it Daan? Is it Datung? Is it Xinyi? Is it Sonjiang?.is it Shongjiang?
How nosy do you find your landlords and neighbors? I am native Taiwanese but too Americanized to put up with invasions of my privacy. I am planning on going back to teach this summer but dreading the busybody culture nightmare of my childhood. Do they leave you alone if you ask?
Hi friends, welcome you from Pakistan. I am coming to Taipei in September first week on Employment Gold card Taiwan so looking for a space as a roommate. I am very cooperative, calm and like to sit before my laptop all the time except to go out for explore places and food. Hope to get response from someone soon. Thanks.
The background is bright and colorful which looks shiny and beautiful. This is especially good for making comments in front of audience.
Thanks! I’m flying to Taiwan in 3 weeks. The school I will be worked by for is in Changhua. Useful content! Nice work!
I'm glad you found this helpful! Good luck and welcome :)
This was so perfect! As someone not yet in the country learning about Taiwan 591 is a godsend. Thank you!
Wooo! I'm so glad! Thanks for the comment :)
