- Burntrap has been one of FNAF's most interesting Animatronics, not only because he seems to take the form of notorious Serial Killer William Afton, but moreso because Arguments over what he truly is beneath all that flesh and costume have run rampant in the FNAF Theory Space for years now. But today, I outline 1 HIDDEN TEXTURE from Ruin that cracks the Burntrap Debate WIDE OPEN.

A few people are mentioning that Burntraps Model was actually made pretty EARLY on in SB's Development. I'll mention this in a planned Future Video analyzing The Mimics Model itself.
However the fact that Burntraps Clawmark is in a place only The Mimic ever visits is still substantial enough evidence, despite model discrepencies.
Could it be that the model is different and that burntrap has flesh on him is a result of the nightmare gas?
When you go through the hallway before the pizza place there is a noticeable fog in both sb and ruin, but you only walk through it in sb, in ruin you walk around it. Also there is vapor coming out of burntrap's charging station
They would be the costumes of Ruin, Tiger Rock (the story of TFTP 7), Storyteller (tree), Mimic1 (Glitchtrap) the blue dog from epilogue 7, the spider from epilogue 8, and the Jester from epilogue 8.

I do think that it’s the same endo but not the same entity in control. I believe that it’s not the mimic endo in control but rather the separate but similar program that is glitchtrap.
At the very least the mimic in the ruin and burntrap in security breach have different motives. The character in ruin that acts the most like burntrap is actually the entity/mxes/glitchy purple rabbit. I know people are gonna heavily disagree with this but it’s what I believe.
@@greggoleggo9160 The only way I can see that happening is if Glitchtrap wants to secure the Mimic's body for himself, and that's why he guards it.
Though it's clear that Glitchtrap in Ruin actually is in the form of the HelpI programme, or at least the specific Vanny mask we see. This makes sense as Glitchtrap is probably in the mask in HW 2, which is why he can give the memory dolls to bonnie bro.
If this is true then that means he is using Cassy to free the mimic, and also infect her since he doesn't have Vanessa anymore to help him integrate himself into the mimic. Two birds with one stone (or mask).
Actually a great theory, but now I’m imagining this scene.
“Okay, Gregory, you lure The Mimic in and distract it! I’ll pour the concrete and trap it!”

maybe vanessa put that some days before and then Gregory lured the mimic inside through the vent and then escaped through the same vent, thus collapsing it because of the weight. (Probably, also i know its a joke probably i dont know)

One error I would like to point out is that Burntrap's model wasn't made late in development, He was actually made pretty early on in development.

Help Wanted 2 basically seemed to indicate that the Mimic no longer had William's programming/influence. The giant Vanny crushing Glitchtrap was likely Vanessa not only overcoming her own mind control, but helping remove the same influence from the Mimic by either removing it manually or hacking it with the system we see in Ruin.
So the Mimic basically got tired of that 'costume' and sought out a new identity, which happened to be Gregory. Which explains its new costume and why it did so much to copy him.
The Mimic is honestly EXTREMELY similar to Ennard the more you think about it and I really wish theorists would focus on those details.
Nah, Vanny is actually the Mimic 1 programming after disconnecting from Glitchtrap, since it read all his information. So, Mimic killed Afton.
Mimic redemption arc when
Glitchtrap isn't the originally the mimic, its something else create by william to control it, so what vanny did was elimanted up glitchtrap from the pizzaplex
Immediatly after the release of Sister Location everybody thought Ennard was THE purple guy, since the explanation of Michael Afton being the one scooped only came with the release of SL Custom's night, this originally meant the killer had always been a robot and placed Ennard as the main villain this of course was later clarified/retconned.
I believe Steelwool is toying with this original idea everybody had.

As much as the idea of Gregory just sitting around while Vanessa does the work cuz he's just a kid sounds absolutely adorable, something tells me his personality won't really allow him to just sit tight and not help out. And I feel like he's more than capable.
According to a few arcade cabinets and the books, you are correct. He is an extremely talented hacker.
I swear steelwool made a tweet or reveal recently that confirmed the mxes machine is older than the pizzaplex. If that is the case then they didn’t make it. Which makes sense I know they’re talented hackers but they couldn’t build a super computer for a security system in one night in a dingy basement with spare parts and have it look that well made.

I’m slightly confused. The claw mark in the Burntrap area implies Burntrap climbed out of his area through that vent. Why is he down in the basement with the mascot costumes?
(Also slight correction the M.X.E.S. system is supposed to be extremely old according to JTop in the Steelwool interview so I doubt Vanessa made it)
the claw mark just shows he was there, he was lured down to the mascot room presumably by gregory and vanessa
I suspect M.X.E.S. was added or activated at a later point in the timeline, as it didn't really seem to be involved in Security Breach. Though the computer is very old, the statement they made was that Vanni/Gregory had "setup the MXES security program" and "get it up and running." Even if they just hit the on button, that seems like it's probably accurate.
The device could have been built during the 80’s but I doubt a supercomputer that old would be able to have AR and VR capabilities.

I still find it strange how the particular purple hue that appears around the vent in Burntrap's room where the clawmark is, is only present in one other place, that being where we find the Mimic during the final reveal sequence, which just so happens to be close by the only other vent that has the claw marks and connects to Mimic's room.
It even explains the symbolism of Fazerblast 3: destroying a paper thin imitation of William

It represents what you do in that ending: you're killing the Mimics copy of William, tearing off the cosplay by force by killing Glitchtrap

I don't know about Gregory not having much of a hand in setting up the security system. In Tales from the Pizzaplex, he's been shown to be a talented enough hacker to have hacked the Glamrocks without anyone noticing.

While we’re on the topic of environmental storytelling, someone noticed an interesting detail that might further prove Burntrap is The Mimic. In Security Breach, Burntrap’s room has purple lighting, symbolizing the presence of “Afton”, or Glitchtrap. In Ruin however, the room is dark orange, which could symbolize the fact that Burntrap is no more, and now it’s just The Mimic, who as we see in Ruin dropped the Afton persona. It’s a neat little detail, and I personally believe that it was in fact meant to have significance.
Yes you're correct about the lighting. I might mention this in a future video about FNAF's Environmental Storytelling.

a correction, Glitchtrap is Mimic by Tiger Rock, GGY and Monty Within, in MW (Monty Within) the protagonist is possessed in a very similar way to Vanessa with Glitchtrap. In Storyteller also with the tree thing there is also a theory that says that the Storyteller tree, the head of that tree (which is described in a way that looks like Tiger Rock) that the employees grabbed that head for Tiger. but it's just a theory. That's why the pizzaplex animatronics attack us and act in different ways. And in the Fazbear epilogue Frights Puppet kills William. And that's why Glitchtrap is not William, but Mimic.
@@eljasson100mugman I already wholeheartedly believed that Mimic was Glitchtrap. Just feels obvious at this point, and always has since Glitchtrap was introduced.
It never occurred to me that the Mimic could only replicate Gregory's voice by hearing it ie, both of them meeting at some point. Having the mimic lure Cassie with the walkie-talkie is brilliantly ironic if you believe Gregory did the same to the mimic

Fits name wise too. It mimicked gregory’s method of luring it to lure cassie down there.
I love how Ruin was built off of the fact that Steel Wool made us believe the Burntrap ending was the cannon one.
It was a twist that we weren’t expecting.

Interestingly enough, the cutscene of Freddy being torn apart (which leads into either the "Disassemble Vanny" or "Princess Quest" endings) is fully animated so make of that what you will.
It wasn't a "twist". The Burntrap ending was obviously supposed to be the Canon one, It even had a cinematic ending and everything. They just used the Mimic as a scapegoat to erase Burntrap from the story and unknowingly fucked up the lore 20x over
Also, another key point of the Mimic showing physical damage from the vent collapse is that its right leg appears to have its best idea of a bolted legbrace, trying to keep itself intact
it’s crazy how much environmental story telling is in sb and the dlc.Its also probably the reason we haven’t found everything in sb yet
Something i want to mention is that in a Tales from the PizzaPlex epilouge, one of the exact plans to trap the mimic is to lure him into a room, escape through a vent, and seal the door. Of course it failed in the book and the bait person died, and the mimic escaped, but it could be a narrative parallel.
If this is the case, why would he remove the Springbonnie suit? Also, fun fact! Before Glitchtrap, they were originally going to use Springbonnie, and when he was scrapped, they reused some parts for Burntrap.

My guess would be that when Vanny (or at least whoever we see in HW2’s PQ4 ending whether it be Vanny or Vanessa) kills Glitchtrap, The Mimic stops mimicking it.
Well the mimic like to mimic other things and didn't see a reason to mimic the springbonnie suit.

I would like the bring up the first scratch in the burner rooms.
The Burner rooms themselves are illuminated by orange lights, no doubt signifying that the Mimic is present, however the ventilation shaft that has the Burntrap scratch mark is illuminated entirely by a purple light instead of orange. Even though the Burntrap ending doesn’t technically happen, something happened here in the burner rooms. We can’t see to the other room through the vent and both doors are blocked by rubble.
Whatever happened, I believe the other side of the vent is where Afton ended up(the corpse on Burntrap is undoubtedly William Afton and you cannot convince me otherwise). Because when looking at the purple vent, the light has a spotlight effect and it’s coming from the end of the vent specifically. There’s a reason we can’t see that room.
There is a problem . Burntraps claw mark IS CALLED MIMICS CLAW MARK BY THE FILES. Burntrap is the mimic

Burntraps Corpse is more likely to just be fake like the AR springtraps corpses. Vanessa made both after all.
Not to mention that Tales comes as a package deal with the Stitchline due to Frailty. Meaning Aftons corpse is not something Vanessa or Glitchtrap could ever get their hands on because its not in FFPS and they would have no clue where it went
ngl, i love that afton actually died at ffps, it just makes the ending (fpps's one) so much better since we know that it actually killed william
I was waiting for someone to finally take a closer look at this room, and you finally did. Excellent work.
Once again something new is discovered and helps us theorize. However consider this:
The mimic endo was in the Pizzaplex before it even opened to the public meaning it would of had to of been sealed early on in the Pizzaplex construction otherwise it would cause trouble. What is more likely imo is that the Burntrap ending is canon along with the Princess Quest ending with it happening before Princess Quest as it is still labeled as the true ending in Security Breach and with Princess Quest having 3 stars means it's the best possible ending meaning everything that could be dealt with was dealt with meaning Burntrap was taken by the Blob and the Mimic could of found the remains of Burntrap after the Blob unalived him and torn off his limbs like it was programmed to do as well as replaced parts of them with Burntrap's thus explaining why the Mimic endo is uneven in design.
With that the Blob escapes, Gregory finds the mimic sealed but the earthquake allowed the Mimic an opportunity to escape and Gregory then tricks the Mimic resulting in it getting Gregory's voice and walkie talkie leading uo to Ruin.
This also works well with other things like how Gregory knows the Mimic was down there for so long, how Gregory and Freddy got out, why theres a drawing of Burntrap right before the Blob takes them and how all the animatronics are missing the parts used for Freddy which can only be done when doing the Burntrap ending.
Visual Storytelling in Ruin is AMAZING. I'm glad Steel Wool actually improved after their mistakes. Gives me hope for their next game

@@chrange9714 yeah, but that visual storytelling was leading kinda nowhere before Ruin (since Scott admitted that Steel Wool came up with their own ending kinda) was released unfortunately. Still pretty impressive
@@Cinnamowo The exact same could be said about fnaf's one, two, three, and four, pretty much every game prior. It's called setting up questions to be answered later, that's what a lot of series do. Scott never confirmed that, he just said some things weren't what he intended due to lack of proper communication between him and Steel Wool.
After Cassie Escapes the Mimic, I can't remember if his hand was cut off by the elevator door too. Making him lose another hand.
So chances of the Models of both Mimic and Burntrap not being similar is because the Mimic was yet to become the Burntrap at some point.
They'd keep getting damaged in which they'd find replacement parts

Using the tool steel wool uses (environmental story telling) as a way to figure out the lore is such a fun idea.
Back in the veteran days of fnaf, Scott would always leave codes and clues to help us solve the lore in places we wouldn't expect. (Although a bit more obvious)

Additionally on the thought of alternative endings that still could’ve happened, the Scooper Ending of Ruin is a mirror to the Burntrap ending, with the clawed scooper acting as the Funtime face-plated Tangle picking up Burntrap, but instead it’s the Mimic Endo, which shows us what could’ve happened after Burntrap was scooped up by the Tangle, with the costume being ripped off and the Endo being spat out. With the Scooper ending being the inverse. In Ruin however, the Tangle escaped without tearing up Burntrap, thus it’s the vent collapse that damaged him instead of the Tangle.

I don't know if Burntrap and Mimic are the same, since with the exception of the left hand, they have nothing in common, and it's not even completely the same, and Mimic has no traces of flesh, or anything like that.

Yeah. Burntrap is the charred corpse of Scraptrap that was fixed by Vanny and possessed by Glitchtrap. The Mimic looks nothing like Burntrap. They are obviously two different characters
7:37 I don’t really know about that… in an interview with the CEO of steel wool, he revealed that MXES is an OLD machine, so I don’t think Vanessa and Gregory built it, maybe they just upgraded it

I've watched this video three times now and I'll never reach the high I did when you first revealed the claw mark in the Mimic Tunnel. I gasped out loud and then started screeching "I KNEW IT. I KNEW MIMIC WAS BURNTRAP" on repeat.
Its was so obious that burntrap was never meant to be afton, ever since Tales relesed

I think you're onto something with the vent textures, but there is a few things going against burntrap being the mimic. First, the model differences, specifically the torso area. Underneath peepaw aftons suit has the weird ribcage like thing that springlock suits have. Second I dont know how the mimic would just ditch a random corpse and have 0 trace of it whatsoever but this could just be overlooked as a thing to keep ruin PG13 or something. Third, as someone else mentioned, the claw mark in burntraps area was going towards the place we fight him as Gregory in SB, therefore I'd be weird that he'd just turn around or something, fight Gregory down in the mimic lair area and get trapped. Now I dont have a explanation as to why the claw marks are in the mimic vent, but im sure someone could come up with something. lastly and most importantly, in a the official SB files book, it says this: "Gregory eventually ends up in a secret office where he faces off with burntrap----a withered spring bonnie animatronic merged with the body of Five Nights at Freddy's antagonist William Afton. Defeat Afton, and this ending is yours." (Page 94 btw) so the a official book outright CONFIRMS this is William Afton, now idk if this has been confirmed wrong or something because I haven't really been keeping up with fnaf lore lol

@thomascreegan6813 admittedly, not all of them, BUT I do know that it can't just grow a corpse, now I do know that it springlocked Kelly, but considering ruin takes place after SB that means the mimic would have ditched the corpse somehow which I find hard to believe
Finally someone mentioned the book. At this point I am not that sure if it’s 100% accurate but I’d really like to believe that. I like to think that Burntrap and the mimic are two separate characters. There’s been too many theories about the mimic being Burntrap or the mimic not being Burntrap that I’ll rather wait for the next game to come out and we’ll see. Even though this theory seems as the most believable due to the environmental storytelling. As I said. Nice point with the book. In the official character encyclopaedia there’s also written that Burntrap is Afton. But the book has a few characters missing and some mistakes about character appearances in games, so I don’t believe it 100% too
@@FNAFfan23.lovesFNAF what I drew from the dudes vid he seems to be saying mimic is a even further damaged burntrap. And even then being able to grow or shrink doesn't mean you can remove the earholes where the nunny ears would be, ontop of the many endoskelital and fleshy diffirences. Some people probably thought to change out burntrap for "the mimic" as to keep the rating low for the children playing and the sales, but kept some pieces of burntrap to say they're the same but burntrap became the mimic. I also Agree with your point of burntrap and mimic being separete enteties. Also I hate the mimic because the concept is overused but thats my own personal thing.
@@scprwbysportal7202 I personally that Burntrap is Afton barely clinging to life, and when he gets tricked by Gregory and Vannessa into the vent basically gives up. The Mimic was a seperate character who was unearthed/damaged by the collapse, and uses the busted Afton to repair himself.
This debate should have ended a long time ago with the Tales from the Pizzaplex books.
People always skip this for some reason, maybe because they don't like the reveal, but The Mimic in the Epilogues of these books is described like Burntrap's endo, rabbit ears included! The workers even thought he was a Bonnie endo!
I also thought Help Wanted 2 solved it with the Mask bot ending, but apparently people were not convinced.
The light in Burntrap's room also changes from purple to orange in Ruin.
And the design change can also be explained by The Mimic's ability to reconfigurate his body (He turned into a spider once!).
I believe that if they straight-up confirm it somewhere, fans would say that it's a retcon because they debunked their headcanon.

Nah, that's because the real debate was around Glitchtrap being Mimic 1, which he isn't, now that there's lore drops that confirm that. We knew that Glitchtrap was Burntrap, but after The Mimic was shown ppl claimed that this Mimic was Glitchtrap (which he wasn't), which eventually led to people saying that Burntrap isn't Mimic.
@@GospodinWolf but Glitchtrap did come from the Mimic1 program. It was formed when Mimic1 was scanned into Help Wanted and created a virtual copy of Afton because it's a game with Faz ent lore. Just like how he created a virtual Glamrock Tiger in one of the VR booths of the Pizzaplex
@@Starbear_Ent He wasn't ? Why then would Mimic 1 program kill itself in the Glitchtrap form ? If you're confused i'm talking about Help Wanted 2's secret ending, where Vanny (the identity of Mimic 1 that is now copying Glitchtrap) kills, well, Glitchtrap.
That's the only reason why Vanny existed after PQ ending and in HW 2, it was afraid that Glitchtrap would take back control again, and THAT's the reason why Gregory and Vanessa went back to the Pizzaplex, and THAT is why Glitchtrap is NOT Mimic 1. PERIOD.
@@GospodinWolf I think you are overcomplicating things. The PQ 4 Ending was Vanessa using Vanny for good and killing what was left of Glitchtrap. Mimic1 did not kill itself, I don't know where did you get that from, Gregory made Glitchtrap weak after PQ 3, and PQ 4 destroyed him for good. The death of Glitchtrap caused The Mimic to not be Burntrap anymore. The last thing Glitchtrap did was to give the mask to Cassie so she could free The Mimic
The scratch marks are very interesting for sure, but why is the entire rest of the body (except for one hand) completely different as well?
Steel Wools models change a lot. There's the Prototype on Freddy's Foot, and even some of the Ruineds have IMPOSSIBLE Inconsistencies to the Shattereds. Model Consistency is lacking usually, however Burntrap wouldddd be the most exaggerated case of this.
@@Under_Score there's probably prototype on Freddy's foot because that Freddy is a prototype. As for the shattereds, you'd have to go into details. Roxy's face is explain in HW 2 if that's one of them.
@@Under_Score I was thinking about it after, would it be possible that the mimic attacked Burntrap and dragged him down there? I feel like it's more likely that it took burntrap's hand for repairs than Burntrap changing everything else. As you said, models in SB can be inconsistent, but this is taking it to the very extreme
@@bubbleshock14 No not really.The Mimic in Tales was described to be a perfect match for his endo,he has a ribcage,2 clawed arms,2 rabbit ears that resemble antennae.Its pretty much confirmed that he is Burntrap

Given the overwhelming amount of evidence we have for Princess Quest being the canon ending, it would be really strange to have a decapitated Freddy in the correct spot and not have it be the real Freddy.
As to why this choice was made, I think there are two reasons. For one, it help explains why when the Glichtrap virus attempts to takeover Freddy, it fails. And the other reason would to be to complete one of Freddy’s mini-‘arcs.’
In parts and service in Security Breach, you can get unique dialogue where Freddy panics over the possibility that he isn’t the only Freddy, and therefore not art. Ruin answers this. He is the only him, he is the first, he is art.
One thing that contradicts a part of this theory is the fact that, during FahNaf’s interview with Steel Wool, they confirmed the machine is REALLY old. So they couldn’t have set that system up. That aside this is a pretty solid theory!

A good explanation for burntraps corpse suit is the flesh corpse theory
Basically when glitch trap is put inside mimic The agony is so strong that it grow the corpse and suit.
It’s shown in the books, agony creatures, like pittrap and in the fleshtrap that and they can have flesh and suits from pure agony. The purple smoke is the stench of agony because agony smells bad according to fright.
Now I do think glitch trap is also mimic so that does ask the question why mimic is corrupt mimic so here’s my best answers

the Burntrap ending is seemingly unfinished. Keep in mind that this is the PlayStation version and that the time between this and fullgame is reportedly around *1* *month*. If the same is for the PC version then (including optimazing) Burntrap's weird behavior is rather understantable.

The P46 therapy tapes actually make it pretty obvious mimic was the plan. A therapist mentions at one point that Gregory is talking to an AI that takes in information from prompts. A generative AI, but one that's manipulative and asking questions to Gregory.

Which isnt exsactly un common for ruin given that practicly every character is an asset flip, even cassie herself seemed to use gregory as a base, which is why her ruin modle just looked so... off, tho that ones speculation only. I really think that Burntrap's identity may be that he is Luca from the Tales From The Pizza Plex story "Pressure", in which a teenager enters a fnaf 3 role-playing game wearing a Springbonnie outfit modified to look like Springtrap, but in the end it turns out that the suit was a real springlock, and Luca accidentally activates the springlocks and dies inside the suit. Now, taking into account that Burntrap is not Afton, much less Mimic since this one NEVER came out of the hole in which he was locked under concrete in the ruined pizzaplex (since we are told that this one was behind this wall in the pizzaplex area after the events of FNaF 6, and well, we only broke this wall in ruins), and therefore it is impossible for it to be burntrap since it was in a capsule of the pizzaplex, and even more so with Scott Cawthon's latest statements in which he said that it was not planned to be a final boss or anything like that, that he is simply going to stay still in the dark in various corners as a simple easter egg, we can deduce that it may be. try Luca. Honestly, on their way down to the Pizza Place Gregory and Vanessa probably saw The Blob escape the sinkhole before luring and trapping Burntrap/Mimic in the costume room. Then once he was sealed Vanessa set up the MXES terminal while Gregory drew the Burntrap Ending panel, incorporating the two monstrous robots he had just encountered.
New theory to explain Gregory and his different ending drawings: Gregory is secretly frisk Undertale and has the ability to reset timelines and shit and that's why he knows about the different endings and draws them... for some reason. idk.

Yup, the Mimic can change his size in order to fit into suits accordingly, and also swap damaged body parts. As for the Burntrap suit, he might've removed it after Princess Quest 4 in HW2. Maybe he stopped mimicking William after Vanessa crushes Glitchtrap, but I'm not sure.

The tangle is a name used for it in the files for security breach. The blob was confirmed to not be it’s canon name in a guidebook, but it’s still officially recognised.

Your discovery is really interesting, but I don't believe it's enough to prove that Burntrap and the Mimic are the same. Your point was that the claw mark was the same on both characters, and that their claws were practically the same, but you yourself said that Steel Wool reused assets they already had for Help Wanted, which probably also happened with The Mimic , use an asset they already had. I believe that Burntrap and The Mimic are two distinct characters, with The Mimic being the creation of Edwin (or perhaps Henry in the games' timeline), probably dating back to the 1980s or later, while Burntrap is literally what's left of William Afton as Scraptrap from Fnaf Pizzeria Simulator (considering that Scraptrap was just a bad design and was retconned by making Burntrap have parts of Springbonnie's original design), but enhanced with new parts possibly Glamrock or from another model line, but not being William Afton is the one possessing it. Analyzing Burntrap's design, we can see that the disproportionate shoulders do not connect with the rod of the original Springlock model, as if they had been placed later, in addition, Burntrap's eyes are very similar to Torture Freddy's eyes from the Fnaf film, who is speculated to be a Springlock. We know that the eyes of Springbonnie (with William Afton), Springtrap and Scraptrap are gray, but in Burntrap they are purple, which leads me to believe that Burntrap does not have the spirit or soul of William Afton controlling him, but rather the program Glitchtrap, as if he were remotely controlling a physical body. With his discovery of the claw marks, it leads me to believe that Burntrap escaped, just as shown in the Fnaf SB trailer, where we see his hand outside the sinkhole. Regarding Burntrap's whereabouts, it is possible that he found the Amalgamolten (Blob), explaining how Blob suddenly started moving around inside the Pizzaplex.

Your argument with the handprint is flawed, because the handprint is a new asset which means stealeool had to make that asset during the creation of ruin. The asset likely had to be drawn with the intent of it being a mimic hand print.

Personally I thought that Burntrap was just Springtrap’s remains that Vanny had put back together and put Glitchtrap into, but I like this theory too.

scott basically just confirmed this. In the original intent, however, Burntrap was seemingly meant to be a new form of Glitchtrap both Gregory and Vanessa saw in their heads. Steel Wool got confused, so now, the explanation is "Vanny gave them Lucas corpse from Pressure. Idfk."
That's not what Scott said, in Dawko's recent interview with him he said Bunrtrap was supposed to just lay in a corner you could just barely see as an easter egg and lore hint to where you were at. The fnaf6 location, he would've never moved around and was literally supposed to be Afton dead.
I gotta say, you need more attention. You're underrated. And to me, Burntrap was just Glitchtrap being brought into the real world. We know Vanny worked under the control of Glitchtrap (which is either an entity using the Mimic's programming or an extension of the Mimic itself) and we know that Vanny went down into Freddy's Pizza Place several times. My guess was that she was building Burntrap out of the original corpse and several parts from within Pizzaplex animatronics. This body was created for Glitchtrap to take control over, which it does in the Burntrap ending, as signalled by Burntrap's purple eyes. That's how we know it isn't Afton since his eyes are silver while one of the most striking things about seeing Glitchtrap in Help Wanted and Security Breach was his glowing purple eyes. We get further confirmation this is the case since in one of the HW2 endings we see Glitchtrap coming out of a recharging pod, not too dissimilar to Burntrap exiting his pod in SB which kind of just further sements the idea. And it would make sense if this Mimic program mimicking Afton would tell Vanny to do this. After all, what better way to immitate William Afton than to actually use parts from the ORIGINAL William Afton?
But the theory you posted holds more weight too as in the books it is stated that the Mimic can shapeshift its endoskeleton to fit any costume, meaning it could very well shapeshift to become Burntap. But there's still a very high possibility that Burntrap is just Glitchtrap's way of being brought into the real world. But if both these possibilities are equally likely considering there is substantial evidence to say that Burntrap is the Mimic and that Glitchtrap was using Burntrap to come into the real world as a physical entity, then we are left with the idea that the Mimic and Glitchtrap are one in the same. But... they're not. At least not at first glance.
I personally think that Glitchtrap was working with the original Mimic since Glitchtrap is using the same or similar software. The Mimic is kind of using an extension of itself that just HAPPENS to be mimicking Afton to control the Pizzaplex and help it escape. Plus, if Glitchtrap is immitating Afton and the Mimic is programmed to essentially spread mindless violence, then that would kind of mean that both Glitchtrap and the Mimic's goals align pretty well in terms of motive and I think both entities are smart enough to know how to work together. But then, as seen in HW2, Vanny gets rid of Glitchtrap, thereby freeing herself and cutting off the Mimic's control over the Pizzaplex and everything in it. But I don't think Glitchtrap was just killed off. I think that Glitchtrap was REPURPOSED.
My headcanon at the moment is that Vanny's crushing of Glitchtrap is symbolic of Glitchtrap's programming being removed and I believe that what was left of the Glitchtrap program actually became the MXES program. After all, it takes the form of a bluish-purple rabbit and has a great deal of control over the digitial world and can influence the animatronics to act, similar to Glitchtrap did. And I think the way it looks is more evidence of that. It looks more like a ghost that's broken up, representative of how Glitchtrap was essentially taken apart to be reused and I don't doubt that Vanessa or Gregory could reprogram it to do this and it could have all been done with that MXES machine we see down in the basement. Plus, the way it moves in contrast to Glitchtrap is further evidence of this. Glitchtrap in Help Wanted starts off moving very jittery and laggy but then becomes smoother and more realistic as we piece him together and his final form looks realistic and human-like, showing its development. And then there's MXES which still takes the basic form of a rabbit but is now much more digitised with a less defined model and it moves in a laggy and broken state. And we know that the MXES program that was formally Glitchtrap can be controlled as we see it become trapped inside the machine in RUIN, showing just how much it has lost its power and is now restricted to its security nodes.
So I don't think Glitchtrap is GONE, I just think that he was reprogrammed after essentially having all the power stripped from him in SB with Princess Quest. He is now repourpsed to hide the very thing that he might have been working with. After all, it's just a program. Once you delete some code, you're left with a blank slate. What better way to deal with an enemy than to make it your ally? After all, Glitchtrap as a Mimic program was only doing what it was programmed to do - mimic whatever it was exposed to which was Afton. But THE Mimic? It as a physical entity and being a much older piece of technology from decades ago is not so easily controlled.

BurnTrap is canon, but he’s no longer important. He’s simply nothing.
The way he described it sounds a lot like a "digital hallucination", so one could assume that Gregory has the VANNI chip on his brain (evidenced by the static when Vanny gets near him) and that leads to him randomly sighting Burntrap throughout the Pizzaplex.
However, they still had to somewhat roll with what Steel Wool released, so I think it's safe to claim that Mimic was in the charging pod, whether he looked like Burntrap or not.

Personally, i think that using The mimic, they had retconned Burntrap and glitchtrap by making Burntrap not real and glitchtrap probably being the mimic mimicing William afton (i dont know if this is really related but decided to throw it out there)

Burntrap is Mimic. In epilogue 7 of Tales From the pizzaplex it is mentioned that Mimic puts on a rat suit and also in Ruin we see animal suits (mimic like the rat suit and so on). That means that Mimic changed suits as we see in Ruin, Lucia in epilogue 8 turns off Mimic and we assume that Vanny activates it again since Glitchtrap is the Mimic_1 program (the one that appears in Tiger Rock, The Monty Within and GGY ) activates it and Mimic enters the recharging cabin and here we have everything (Mimic changing his suit), possibly when Blood swallowed Burntrap possibly Mimic put on his suit imitating William, his original design is shown and we have Ruin's Gameplay .
good theory.............BUT if you paid attention burntrap's charging station door was not open. if burntrap IS the mimic and the door opened before the power for it shut off, the door would be wide open. That door was not open. so there is a high chance burntrap is still in there. and as gregory says the mimic has been down there for years. that would have been before burntrap was made cause in ruin Gregory and cassie haven't aged a day. so yes I do think that Gregory knew about burntrap, but he never interacted with it so it would have never been activated. I rest my case for now
The charging station is empty in Ruin. As well, we see that the door shuts automatically when we play as Gregory. It probably just shut after the mimic left it.

Burntraps is a more modern, springlock suit with comparatively very little metal whereas the game Mimic's is bulky and makeshift and looks like it was built a very long time ago. While I can see a mimic replacing some of its own limbs, short of transferring its head onto a whole new body post-SB (where did it find these older parts?) I just can't see that as a solution. I say this as someone who has read The Mimic and the epilogues (neither of which have the mimic fixing itself or switching parts).
Or. A simple observation. In Ruin, Burntrap's recharge station is still closed. And in the Burntrap ending we clearly see it open in the cutscene for Burntrap to emerge from. Not to mention the fact that the whole Burntrap area is pretty much still in tact as well.
So if the recharge station is still closed, that could mean Burntrap never emerged from the recharge station at all. Also if the mimic is the one who made the claw marks, maybe it's the mimic that was roaming around those areas, between the end of Security Breach and Ruin. This can be also be supported by the fact that they only appear in Ruin, and not Security Breach. Since Burntrap didn't make them nor the Mimic during Security Breach.

might as well put in my own piece for this Debate, being that Burntrap is still Afton, and that the Mimic wouldn't bother with pretending to be him, as it gives itself no advantages.
Burntrap is still Afton, as there would be no ways the Mimic could know EXACTLY where parts for Springbonnie, Springlock Endoskeletons, NOR Afton's Corpse would be, as well as finding and getting a charging pod functional, along with having LITERALLY just Glitchtrap's ability to control tech practically just ported over. On top of this, The Mimic LITERALLY wouldn't have any help to piece everything together, as Vanny(controlled or not) either wouldn't or couldn't help them, with the wouldn't being in the case you believe Glitchtrap is Afton, and the Couldn't being the case that you believe Glitchtrap is the Mimic(for whatever dumb reason).
The Mimic wouldn't bother with pretending to be him, because the Mimic and Afton are POLAR Opposites. Afton's patient, methodical, and efficient while the Mimic only ever thinks in the short-term, is Impatient, and only ever Mimics as a Means to an End. They'd get NO Advantages, and, in fact, it'd be LESS Advantageous if they were to mimic Afton as Burntrap, as they'd be sitting in the backline, doing nothing. On top of this, there's plentiful reason as to why Burntrap COULDN'T be the Mimic, while the only evidence towards Burntrap truly NOT being Afton being "The Mimic's an Old Animatronic, so the Data they pulled for HW CLEARLY belonged to the Mimic!" and "Afton died like, 8 times by now, there's no way he'll come back again!" despite the former being debunked literally by just understanding the timeline, and the later being just flat opinions.
here's some extra stuff to add onto my case here just to cover some other bases.
1. The Mimic has only shown the ability to control machines in the scope of making lights flicker, and that's really just about it.
2. Springbonnie(and Afton by extension) has been company property of Fredbear's/Fazbear's significantly longer than the Mimic, and would make more sense to use THEIR code for the Pathing, Routines, and Models than some rusty, pieced-together robot.
3. It's shown that the Mimic is impatient through how it mimics Gregory, not being like Gregory actually is, but instead impatient and kinda whiney, all things considered, and it mimicking as a means to an end through literally the entire story of Ruin.
4. The Mimic would've just killed Vanny if they WERE Glitchtrap, and also wouldn't have stayed down there if Burntrap WAS the Mimic, unless a dramatic amount of people go down there on a regular basis.
5. Burntrap's movements are TOO Human for it to be the Mimic at work there, even for an advanced machine. And unless the Mimic spent years studying Limping, Feeble old men so that they can walk 10x slower and do their job less efficiently, I don't think it'd be doing that any time soon.
6. The Mimic is still, JUST a Machine. There's no Soul, no thoughts, just Do This in order to Achieve This, except the "Action" is most often "Mimic" and the Outcome is most often "To harm people", as it was taught Violence and to harm people, and it's goal is/was to disassemble. It won't care to stay in a sinkhole to wait for a single child to go down there once so it can hack into a different robot with abilities they don't have to kill them, they'd just rush people down and kill them.
7. Though the hand does line up, literally not a single other part lines up, from the extremely-vital torso and head, to the admittedly less-vital legs and arms. While sure, the Mimic might replace faulty pieces, I don't see how they could manage to literally replace their entire torso and head without destroying themselves in the process.
Feel free to do whatever with this unreasonably large info-dump on why the funny Corpse Rabbit man in the quirky Robot game is a Serial Killer and not a Violent Machine.

I have a theory that because of Gregory seeing the other animatronics he had them stuck in his mind then he mixed them together and like you said “glamrock endo” “glamrock freddy” the bunny parts being from Vanny he mixed them together to create burntrap
My current theory is all endings happened but princess quest was the main event, blob got ahold of mimic that vanny released with the afton virus, blob brought mimic back to it’s cage, afton virus was erased, then we get mimic. Mimic copies Gregory because Gregory was the last talking human in the pizzaplex after close for it to copy to convince another human to let it out. My question, why is the blob still hanging out? If it’s to guard the mimic from causing trouble then why didn’t it help in ruin? Because the blob IS in ruin.
The Burntrap model was one of the first to be designed, and Burntrap and The Mimic are almost nothing alike.
The Mimic bears the same resemblance to Burntrap as it does to Nightmare Chica.
Considering the Mimic is both an endoskeleton AND an IA programme. I believe Burntrap (and by extension Glitchtrap) is just a version of the Mimic programme used to mimic Afton and Burntrap's body is a combiantion of a Glamrock endo (the Glamrocks endos being basically modernized Mimics), William burned a d rotten (and definitively dead) corpse, and some of the original Mimic's part. However if we consider the Princess Quest ending as canon, and it seems to be the case, this project of giving Glitchtrap a physical body wasn't completed because Vanessa was freed from his influence. At least that's my interpretation of it all.
burntrap has a few things from nightmare animatronics, like a few of n.BB's fingers and...well, the hands. the only similarity I can definatively see between the two is that one hand, and even then there's a difference. Also, I'm pretty sure the mimic model is taller than burntrap anyway.
The mimic's head is also to big to fit into burntrap's mask without clipping, let alone fit in the skull. The demeanor between the two is also extremly different.
Through out ruin the mimic is shown to be impaitient, sure he's using Gregory's voice but he doesn't become Gregory, which is what the theory of burntrap = mimic hinges on. Afton finally dying after that "boss fight" would be fine if it felt like more.
Granted, I wouldn't mind him being a background presence from then on, but that's the writers'/writer's choice. Hell, mimic being burntrap would've been fine (to me) if it made sense, character, design, and story wise.
anyway, sorry for ranting.
TL;DR: mimic being burntrap doesn't make sense because ruin shows us he wouldn't change his personality just his voice. Also, the mimic model is to big to fit into burntrap.

I don't dislike the concept of the Mimic. With how AI is dangerously growing currently, a monster that's an AI is a terrifying concept. But I hate that the Mimic retcons Glitchtrap and Burntrap. "It was an AI all along" seems like a desperate attempt at satisfying critics who got frustrated at Afton coming back. Also Glitchtrap and Mimic don't act the same at all... Glitchtrap can possess people and is smart and calculated, while the Mimic is impulsive and blows his cover almost immediately. The current story of FNAF sucks ass and I hate it, which is a shame because I like some of the elements a lot (The Pizzaplex, Vanny/Vannessa, Gregory, Cassie and the Glamrocks to name a few). It reeks of the writers just making stuff up as they went along. Nothing is clear, nothing makes sense, nothing means anything and anything can be retconned at any moment.

I made a theory about burntrap out of nowhere. You see, when burntrap appears in the recharging station there is something like gas coming out of it, so my theory is that if gregory and freddy went there, maybe gregory would be allucinating like in William Afton's experiments with gas and kids and he would see mimic as william afton presence. I know, such a crappy theory
But still, what about the corpse? In the whole spring Bonnie suit I don’t think the corpse could just magically get off and still I don’t think the mimic could even wear a corpse because it doesn’t even look like they were trying with the head.
If burntrap is the mimic why doesn’t he have that purple glow he had or have his black and purple eyes. Also his head is completely different like burntrap had a very burnt human head with a Bonnie mask on top while the mimic just has a flat rectangular robot head.
