    Found this video about 5-6 years ago when I first picked up the guitar and I bought this model. Sold this guitar a long time ago but still come back to this video every so often.

      Wow that's good to hear, thank you for the views 🙏, I also sold it but wouldn't mind one day getting one again if I can find the same model for cheap.

    I have arthritis in my left hand, I think the thin neck would be easier on my left hand.

    Bought one today (the transparent gray one) wanted something cheap with humbuckers to complement my Fenders, I was really blown away by the feel and sound for something in this price range!

    I was also blown away by this guitar! The neck is perfect, the weight is great, and it looks amazing! I'm really glad to hear about pickups too. I was worried about that as it's not something I'm real knowledgeable with. Appreciate the insight, thank you much.

    To me this guitar is a studio guitar. It was waaay too light for me that when playing in a live setting its hard to not have it going all over the place when moving around lol. It has a great tone and comfortable to play so it'll make recording in a sitting position a breeze!

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  8 лет назад +1

      yes it is light! but still carries the mahogany growl inspite of it! the lightness was a con but since it still retained that growl it balanced it out!..

    I got this guitar same finish. Same thing happened with me I was not planning to buy a guitar but picked it up in guitar center and couldn’t get over the bang fir the buck. Really great value with this guitar. I put gotoh locking tuners and dimarzio Dactivator pickups in it. I really love your playing when you first demoed the tones.

    Nice mods. I just picked one of these up today (the blue one) and it really surprised me. I played probably 10 guitars from LTD, Schecter, PRS SE, Ibanez, and Yamaha, all ranging from $250-$1200 and this Blue Ibanez was the one I had to take home. I own a good handful of guitars, the nicest being my PRS 408, so I was really surprised when this "cheap" guitar played and sounded as good as it does. You described it perfectly, it's a workhorse, great value.

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  8 лет назад

      haha exactly bro! you hit it right on the nail too.. there is just something about the neck that just feels easy and fun to play! I know its cheap but Its a workhorse haha.. it works and feels awesome and the mahogany body is a plus! I hate basswood..

    congrats on your new instrument!
    in the last few years Ibanez has made all guitars (regardless of price) look really nice/classy and yours definitely fits the bill.
    I don't know if you've seen some of the new 2016 models or not but some of them are gorgeous (especially the new RGD models).

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  8 лет назад +1

      thanks yeah this guitar is really good, and yes! I seen the 2016 premium and iron label models! they look awesome can't wait to get those or a custom Carbon guitar idk yet! I just don't want a basswood body and ibanez has been making even there prestige guitars out of basswood which I think is cheap wood, thanks again bro!

    Awesome review! I mostly have Schecter guitars with the split coils. But I'm thinking about getting this guitar because I heard that you don't get a loss of volume when switching from humbucker to single coil. Is this true? Do you notice there is no volume loss when you switch from humbucker to single coil? Thanks in advance for your time!

    Great review! About the neck,have you tried on an ibanez rg350 ,s470 or other ibanez? I want a fast-playing neck and now I'm in a dilemma.

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  8 лет назад

      thanks and mostly all there new low end guitars have a the wizard 3 neck.. they are fast but there best necks are premiums and prestige models..

    Hey fantastic review man, thanks for putting this up. Great to hear your thoughts on it, think I'm gonna make the investment myself. Had a quick question if you didn't mind, I notice now the guitar is listed online as carrying the Infinity pickups on Guitar Center's website. If you bought directly from the store floor then you probably wouldn't know, but do you happen to know if they've changed the stock pickups this model comes with, or is it mislabeled since you got it with Quantums? Couldn't agree with you more how terrible the Infinity pickups are, and Quantums are quite nice so it's be great if it actually came with those. Either way, it's only a small pickup upgrade away from glory :)

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  8 лет назад

      hi :) thanks for viewing and feel free to ask as many questions as u want, they come with the quantum pick ups, a lot of these online sites are always mislabeling ibanez guitars..smh lol anyways these quantum's look like dimarzios too they look nothing like infinities or sound or feel like them..

    • @InventedTheDamnWheel
      @InventedTheDamnWheel 8 лет назад +1

      Good, that's a relief. Thanks for the information! I even noticed some of the pictures have the Quantum pickups and others the Infinities haha. Definitely going with this one then. Cheers!

    hey man great video! I have this same guitar and I agree it's awesome! But I am wanting to gut it and replace all of the hardware and pickups in it. I was looking into the Titan pickups, but u said that you didn't like the Titan this guitar. What pickups would you recommend to put in this guitar? clarity is my primary concern. I play mostly progressive metal and I was gonna do either the Titan or some railhammers. thoughts? thanks!

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  8 лет назад

      thanks for the comments and vewing :) good idea, i would have gutted it out too.. new pots but the 5 way switch is good unless u can get a better quality one, also hipshot tuners and lastly a hipshot bridge... I'd say get the bk juggernaut because it has anlico and cermamic magnets.. you can try getting the set or just get a 59 Seymour Duncan neck.. the juggernaut is good and perfect for the style you play and its good split for cleans.. its versatile but its meant for progressive metal..

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  8 лет назад

      I had the bk juggernaut on this guitar and it sounded great.. open and loud and clear, not sterile but a good tone.. the body is mahogany so this pick up is perfect for it..

    • @joeysimoneau
      @joeysimoneau 8 лет назад

      +Victor Rene awesome man I think I'm going to go with those thanks for your input!

    • @victorrene3852

      +Joel Simoneau dont get me wrong the Titans set would go good with this guitar also.. either set..

    • @JgHaverty
      @JgHaverty 8 лет назад +1

      I put a titan neck and bkp emerald bridge into mine.
      hardware has been fine.... Check out my "djent tone" video to see what it sounds like. I hated the stock pickups, kinda "sloppy". I didn't like the titan bridge AT ALL. Im probably gonna swap it out for an EVO or something like that, its a super loose sounding guitar.

    what's that little switch between the two knob.

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  7 лет назад

      Raymond Gregory its a kill switch.. I flip it on when I want total silence.. sometimes when in on stage I get feed back or hum when I set it down so it's better to kill the circuit when not playing..

    • @joshwhite-pullerofstrings9518

    Hey man how do you think this guitar sounds when trying to play some metal?

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  8 лет назад

      it sounds great for metal especially because its made out of Mahogany..

  • @hamerray
    @hamerray 7 лет назад

    so I guess that little switch was a aftermarket install. you could of just turn down the volume knob. I'm thinking about getting one of those guitars.

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  7 лет назад

      Raymond Gregory yeah it was aftermarket. I installed it myself.. I used to keep the tone knob in the cavity and put the kill switch there but I use the volume and tone knob now so this was was better

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  7 лет назад

      Raymond Gregory yeah I recommend it if your on a budget and want a great feeling guitar to use..

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  7 лет назад

      Raymond Gregory its just easier for me to hit the kill switch then having to roll the volume down and up.. I keep my volume always at 10. it was an easy install and I think its cool because I can use it as a effect like a tremolo sounding thing since this guitar is a fix bridge..

      oh cool! this guitar is a good workhorse and the titans sound good on it, I'm gonna put a dimarzio paf pro in the neck

  • @hamerray

    was there anything wrong with the original tuner's.

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  7 лет назад

      Raymond Gregory no there was nothing wrong with them, I didn't change them, I just changed the tops of them for pearloid ones just for looks. they stay in tune most of the time. if your not a heavy shredder then you will not have tunning problems at all..

    • @hamptonrogers4517
      @hamptonrogers4517 7 лет назад +1

      where did you find the pearloid tops?

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  7 лет назад

      Hampton Rogers hi :), I bought them on eBay, you should find them there, these where actually big, try to find the Asian size ones, but the big ones worked for me, I didn't want to return them.. I think they come from China.. also WD guitar parts sell them..

    I have many "high end" guitars.
    My RG6003 gets played as much as my "finer" guitars. The neck isn't super duper amazing, but I do like the shape and size. I rolled the edges and dressed the fret ends, but yeah I also paid 200$ for mine as well, cant complain too much.
    I think the stock pickups sound like dog shit, I replaced mine for a BKP Emerald bridge and Titan neck. It handles all my drop tune needs. The neck pickup of the stock pickups is definitely the better of the two

    • @victorrene3852
      @victorrene3852  8 лет назад

      yup I agree the neck isn't the holy grail but to me it fits my hand perfect.. with the fret dress and set up its way better.. it's great mod platform.. I agree the stock bridge isn't the best but better than the cheap infinities I have had! but I always end up upgrading the pick ups! I put a bk juggernaut on the bridge and paf pro in the neck! the juggernaut sounds great on this mahogany body.. for $200 bills.. its a deal!.. but yes upgrades are deserved on it!

    • @JgHaverty
      @JgHaverty 8 лет назад

      I actually just laid this down (more of a tone demo than a cover or playthrough). This is 6003FM with the BKP emerald bridge. I think it sounds pretty beefy :p

      this neck is very very comfortable IMO but I know it wouldn't compare to a prestige neck..

      Victor Rene
      Its certainly not poor quality. Cheap guitars nowadays arent what they were even 10 years ago. This guitar is a fantastic workhorse.
      i was actually gonna buy an RG321, but this was on sale, and I picked it up and its just SO light. The weight of it really drew me to it. Mine also has a really awesome flame maple figuring too haha.
