This mission took me about 2 hours, partly because i like to defend & completely build my castle, i take things slowly, and bcs i'm still learning how to play😊 however by that time Wolf's castle was already so thick i ran out of ways to bring it down even though my army count is 2x of his. Cool mission
The Best way to beat this mission is cheesing rat with Maceman and make archers to siege Snake constantly, to defend from Wolf and Pig you gotta make a Lot of Crossbowmen and Ballistas behind the river between your keep and the quarries/mines, the most difficult part of this mission is doing economy because Wolf Mangronel is going to be harrasing you with any attemp of getting stone and iron at max you can have 1 quarry that isn't near Wolf's castle and if you are lucky one mine, for attacking Pig and Wolf either use Maceman or Assassin's, and for economy go for bread combined with Apple farms since the farmlands at the very least are safe. Certainily this mission is dificult takes time but is kinda fun.
I remember I think being killed once, then beating the mission easy. I think the trick was to focus on a bread economy. Forget the resources in the middle. You won't have strength to defend them and your base. Get a bread economy started. Build a tower with a ballista and some archers and a few, even 5, crossbowmen. That'll protect from the Wolf and Pig. Start adding archers and ballista to the East. Burn their farms and build your own, mostly bread and ale. Keep growing east. Take out the Snake and Rat (easy kills). Now you only need to protect the west and resources in the middle. Start mining stone to sell to build your besieging force. Build a few trebuchets. Kill Pig. Wolf is easy then, just attack at your own leisure.
Second try and win. I win with cow farm. 5 ballistas to controll circle,. Churches to easy money and elle. In the end 15 catapults to destroy wolf towers. And monks to finish wolf.
I literally followed every step in this video, but Wolf keeps destroying me with his catapults and rotten cows..... At some point I just gave up on this and used my first chicken to skip the mission :(
Spamming is really good if you build up for spam. One good unit is the monk, a 1000gp investment with the best melee unit in the game that is also the cheapest, only 10gp each. Rat and snake are early game hard hitters, so you really need to focus then down however you need to. Mangonels may prove useful to keep wolf and pig slowed down due to their more costly castles and to screw with their economy some. Catapults are the best units in the gamr to keep pressure and melt walls. it's an economy ruiner. If you really need help, slow the game down to bare minimum just so you can put up more buildings than ai.
I did this mission on UCP and 90 speed, damn that was hard af, a single square tower with crosbows, archers and a balista, moat around and 4 villagers taxed making crossbows until i made enough gold to secure defense with multiple towers and balistas to kill their catapults, then cathedral, church and positive fear factor and increase the crossbow production and the win the game, took me like 6 hours
Just managed to beat it today with ucp and it was hell, not hell like you described but hell enough to make me restart 3 times because of those damn catapults. Finished it with Assassins opening the gate and rushing with 70 macemen after almost 2 hours... wtf. Stone&Iron were also impossible to get so Crossbow/Bread eco it was. I made 90k Gold that game.... wolf had 130k lol
I'm fucking losing my mind at this, some match snake / rat attack early, then at last when i'm winning suddenly wolf comes with a huge ass army with siege equipments goddamn
Snake caused more problem than the Wolf lol. I think it has something to do with what castle Wolf chooses to build, he generates a lot money(like 100-150k) but he doesn't really offense against you, just a couple pikemen. I played this mission like 2 hours btw, on 60-90 speed. Maybe I should have wait little longer lol.
I just beat this mission after restarting 3 times. I built a moat around my base with a very long maze entrance. (Not inclosing it) 1 tower with shields, archers, and a ballista. The only resource I collected was a little bit of wood. My whole eco was buying wheat and selling bread. I did buy hops for the inn. The Ale gave me +8. I taxed -4 and went to half rations (-4). That allowed me to sell bread faster and be more profitable. After a while I was able to build an army of shields and crossbowmen to attack. Took me about 4-5 hours. I did it though. So I'm happy!
When I was doing this one, I rushed wolf at the beginning with assasins, then did the same thing as you 1 single tower full of archers and crossbows for pig macemen

Make hops farms,just make ale and get +8 popularity bonus from this so you can high the taxes.İf its possible even you can higher the rations to max and get +8 from this. +16 POPULARİTY BONUS AND ULTRA TAXES

Try investing in horse archers and shields together, then launch an attack!

Man im strugling for days, on ucp is so god damn hard im in pain so much pain.
