Hey Mitch, suggestion. For new sets, I think it would be cool if you did a review of the set with an eye toward cards that are cheap now, but fill important roles and might be good to get some copies of before they get expensive (such as Cursed Mirror).
There was an infinite combo with Composite Golem. If Nim Deathmantle is out with Composite Golem, Nim can bring back the golem once it was sacrificed, creating infinite wubrg. The combo would work better with Golos than with Kenrith.
You exile the pull from eternity with isochron scepter, then each turn cast it using the ability. That puts the extra turn spell in your graveyard, which you can then cast using Dralnu's ability
Though it doesn't affect the combo's you mention, there is a minor discrepancy in the bit about Sharuum. The Legend Rule does not sacrifice, it places one of the legends in the graveyard as a state based action. It still dies, but it is never sacrifced.
“That’s right, even a mono white commander has nasty combos” Me remembering my Avacyn Angel of Hope deck with all the wipes including all the land wipes that have become completely one sided once you get her into play: ... Also, the most evil combo I know is in Selesnya anyway
Important to note that the ordering is a little different because of how the stack works, but it still works, and also, you need an artifact with the copy artifact ability fot it to loop.
Been having fun crafting a Colfenor, the Last Yew deck. If you have an x-cost creature and Pawn of Ulamog or Sifter of skulls, you now have unlimited colorless mana and creature casts/deaths. If you have a sacrificer, you can use Oketra's monument, abzan ascendancy, Gutter Grime, etc. for token generation. A few other ways to combo like tangleroot + servant of the scale + x/g-cost + sacrificer, Good-Fortune Unicorn + 2 x-cost + sacrificer, but they take more pieces.
One of my favorite combos is in my Locust God deck with Sage of the Falls + the God + a graveyard shuffling effect(Kozilek for my deck but there are a few cheaper cards to choose from). Sage enters, triggering it's looting ability, then you play Locust God triggering the Sage's looting ability again which in turn triggers the God creating an insect token which once again triggers the Sage, creating millions of insects with haste. The graveyard shuffling effect is there to keep you from decking yourself as well as being able to create as many insects as you want.
the deck that always makes my playgroup groan is my narset, enter the infinite combo. essentially you cast enter the infinite off narset (or from hand) put omniscience on top, then play fury of the hordes for free, attack again, cast omniscience. boom, i can play everything for free, and use beacon of tomorrow and nexus of fate for infinite turns!
@@michaelcrowe111 every narset deck I’ve played against has that as one of the win cons My urza deck had it in there and my playgroup hated playing against me and my buddy because it was basically a race to see who can get it off first I was usually the first one just because it was urza and he’s pretty broken lol
I want to point out that while it works similar to it, the Legend Rule does not involve sacrifices. You take all but one copies and put them in your Graveyard, you don't actually sacrifice anything. It's pretty much one and the same but it doesn't trigger anything that cares for sacrifices (Like Mayhem Devil or Mazirek, Kraul Death Priest - which are both irrelevent in a Sharoom deck, I know)
combo with atraxa: copy her a lot with cards like sakashima, helm of the host or spark double- copy her at least four times, then play a card like magistrates scepter and put at least one counter on it, boom infinite turns, then play something like an azors elocuters and ya basically just won. GG
Krark & Sakashima, just a really powerful commander combo in general. Krark army will basically just return all your instants and sorceries back to your hand and in addition will create copies of those spells. Pair that deck with a bunch of rituals and draw effects and you got a pretty consistent turn 5-6 win.
Regarding the Lehsrac's Sigil combo, you can naturally cast it for the first time and bring it back with natural mana (since you presumably cast Reservoir on your prior turn), netting +1 life, but assuming you have to use life for mana after that, you would net -6, -5, -4, -3, -2, -1 and then need to have at least 9 life to not die to the next cast, which is where it would zero out and start gaining. So, you have to be at 29+ life or have access to more than 4 mana to pull it off.
I've got a Siona deck focused on finding Shielded by Faith, coz I find it easy to tutor for, and to recur if it's stopped. But I was amazed at how versatile Saffi can be. Nasty!
Aminatou + Altar of the Brood and Felidar Guardian/Spark Double. Vito + Exquisite Blood. Peregrine Drake + Eldrazi Displacer + 5 lands(Command Tower, Temple of the False God, Tron) and any etb trigger (Altar of the Brood/Corpse Knight).
Heya Mitch just a note Taniwha is a Maori (New Zealand's indigenous) mythological creature the pronunciation is more like tonne-e-far (or tun-e-far). Good video :)
One of my favorite commanders of all time is Morophon while running a “tribal” deck where I’m running all changelings with tribe specific cards. It’s not even that good; I just enjoy pissing of my friends whenever I attack them with my Zombie Dragon Merfolk Wizard Goblin army. Especially the actual Scion of the Ur-Dragon deck whenever I tell him my dragon deck is better than his dragon deck. It’s all for the joke, but I really wanted to share it.
Hey Mitch! Great video, you had some really cool combos. On a different note, how is the close quarters episode coming along? I can't wait to see what crazy decks you are going to play!
Question about Sharuum combo with a regular non-artefact clone. You have to sacrifice Sharuum in this case to the legendary rule for it to work, right ? (since Clone is no longuer an artefact inside the yard)
You can abuse Sharuum with an altars as well, but it only works with artifact clones (Sculpting Steel and Metamorph) Basically you have Sharuum, Blasting Station and Metamorph enters. Metamorph copies Sharuum. Important here to put Real Sharuum into a grave, then in response to the trigger you sacrifice the copy. Trigger resolves, you get Sharuum, she triggers, and you get your Metamorph back. Repeat untill everyone is dead Took me a while to work out, how it should work and how to explain it to people I prefer it because I have a lot of artifact tutors in my deck, and it's easier to fetch Altar of dementia or a Blasting Station, than apreantice. (Also Bitter Ordeal is expensive)
There is one more combo with Ashaya. If u have Magus of the Candelabra u can untap ur creatures equal to the number of lands u pay into x, and this is an ok way of holding up surprise blockers. However, this can be broken when u have Mana doublers out like Zendikar Resurgent, Nissa Who Shakes the World, and Nyxbloom Ancient. Then, u can untap land and creatures with mana floating.
I have a question concerning Sharuum, I have been playing my Sharuum deck utilizing the combo mentioned in this video, however members of my more recent play group insist it does not work as a target must be chosen before legend rules causes you to sacrifice. After looking into it, I have seen a lot of dabate on this and could use some answers. Thanks!
Good question! State based actions are checked first before the ETB goes on the stack. So the Legend Rule sacrifice happens first, then you get to choose the target for the ETB which goes on the stack. It’s strange for sure
I am a huge fan of Kenrith because of all the combo potential he has given his multitude of abilities. There is a lot of fun to be had with him, besides breaking down your opponent's mental states.
With the card Clone, the loop with Sharuum the Hegemon only works if you sac the real Sharuum and keep the Clone version, as Clone is not an artifact. With Phyrexian Metamorph and Sculpting Steel it does work either way though.
One of my favorites in my Aminatou Superfriends deck involves Spark Double, Oath of Teferi, and Tezerret, Master of the Bridge (plus at least 1 artifact on your board). In short, you spark double Aminatou, use Tezerret's +2 twice to deal damage to all opponents equal to the number of artifacts you control and gain life, then you use Aminatou (double) to flicker Tezzeret to do it again, flicker again, and use Aminatou (real) to flicker the copy every second cycle, and using Aminatou (double) to flicker Aminatou (real) once a cycle after the first one. You can use the same Aminatou, Spark Double, Oath of Teferi cycle on any planeswalker really. Mill everyone with Ashiok, Dream Render. Mill opponents and draw your deck with Jace, Wielder of Mysteries. Exile all nonland permanents with Kaya, the Inexorable. Draw your deck with Tevesh Szat. Ping with Sorin, Vengeful Bloodlord. Etc.
Everyone talking how Dranlu isnt white is also missing that you dont need a spell that exiles itself either. Since you're flash backing, that exiles it already
My opinion of nasty combo's and the decks i run: Sliver Queen + Mana Echoes (+ Lavabelly Sliver for infinite damage) Godo, Bandit Warlord + Helm of the Host Tasigur, The Golden Fang + Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal (have at least 3 mana rocks or dorks) Urza, Lord High Artificer + Isochron Scepter + Dramatic Reversal (have at least 3 Artifacts (try to get a lot 0 Mana rocks or very cheap ones)) And ofcourse the Laboratory Maniac/Thassa's Oracle and Demonic Consultation combo.
Another Combos for Ashaya (cause he was my main CMD and i won many games with it) Ashaya + Wakeroot + Karametra's acolyte you get those put of the field float mana with acolyte then pay 5 from wakeroot untap acolyte and you will know where it will go. Same goes for Ashaya+ley weaver+any creature that float for mana same thing you'll get your infinite mana with this combo or if you got Yisan the wandering bard you know you'll cheat your whole deck with it. Additionally Ashaya gives protection from some specific field wipes such as planar cleansing, Child of Alara, and Cyclonic rift because ashaya makes your creatures into "L a n d s"
For Kenrith + Peregrine Drake, I prefer to sac the Drake with Carrion Feeder, ending the looping with a Red Kenrith activation to slam someone with a one drop 1000/1000.
Dralnu is a Dimir colored card and the combo is with him as the Commander if I recall correctly... Pull from Eternity is a White spell... Huh? If it's an Esper deck and everything is in the 99, it makes sense then.
Najeela + bear umbra Ezuri, claw of progress + sage of hours Chulane + village bell ringer Kikijiki + Zealous Conscripts Animar, Soul of Elements + Ancestral Statue
My veyran deck combos really well with a lot of combinations of 2 or more cards + veyran. Storm-kiln artist or birgi can be used with krark, the thumbless to generate infinite draw and mana. archmage emeritus or niv mizzet parun with one of the previous mana generators can also be used to generate infintie mana and draw the whole deck. Veyran can speed up token generation and then use surge to victory to exile time stretch, kill 1 or 2 people and take 8 or so extra turns. I really like this deck because it can combo in many different ways and is really sinergistic. When a deck relies on one or two specific combos I think it's kinda boring because every game kinda goes the same, but when it's a deck like this that can do a lot of crazy stuff I think it's really cool to try and piece your win condition with the options that you have.
Found a crazy combo building Araumi of the dead tied. Have specimen collector in the grave, alter of dementia on the field. Need at least 2 opponets though. Activate Araumi, and create encored tokens of specimen collector. Sacrafice one of the tokens of specimen collector to alter of dementia, it creates a copy of another token you control, which is the other token of specimen collector. 2 card combo mill your opponets 😈😈😈
I discovered a land that could help any multi coloured deck it is called Rath's edge and it tap for any color and does not come into play taped it. Is only 20 cents
neither the sharuum nor the bladewing combo work with just one clone. Sharuum could work with phyrexian metamorph + sculpting steel but not just one of them. Because the triggered ability says "target" and you have to choose a target as soon as it goes on the stack (which is the very moment it enters the battlefield). Then the state based action of sacrificing down to one copy of the same legendary occures and after that the trigger resolves but the target had to be chosen before the second sharuum was in the grave. The bladewing + hellkite curser one would work though, you just have to use the stack correctly (sacrificing the curser before its effect resolves).
Magda is broken because she can literally tutor your combo onto the battle field by herself Magda with liquimetal coating/ mycosynth latice and clock of omens allows for infinite tapped treasures tokens. Tap liquimetal coating to make Magda an artifact. Next tap clock of omens and Magda with clock of omens to untap Magda but because you tapped Magda she creates a treasure token. You then continue this combo by tapping Magda and the newly created treasure token to make another token and untapping Magda for eternity. You then sacrifice these token for the ability of Magda to bring out hellkite tyrant and gonti aether heart recontinue the loop 2-3 times to get the energy for aether heart activate the ability and win during your upkeep due to hellkite tyrant.
I think one of my nastiest combos I’ve pulled before is attaching Freed from the Real onto my commander, Zaxara, allowing for infinite mana in a deck that was already all about x costs.
Correct me if wrong, but for the first two can't you sacrifice the original as a cost of activating an ability in response to the EBT Triger going on the stack and then target the og with its ability resolving?
in my ashaya deck i use Ashaya + ley weaver to create infinite mana, as well as ashaya + ley weaver + karametras acolyte which also creates infinite mana, basically many things can create infinite mana with ashaya shes awesome.
ashaya has several ways of going infinite that are way way easier, i use ley weaver, she taps to untap 2 target lands, tap one for mana then tap her targeting herself and the other to untap.
I'm playing a Zacama Landfall deck with ashaya, and some land bounce effects like Living twister. Didn't realize i had a combo till i had it on the field. Destroy every non land non planeswalker permanent, gain infinte life and mana. Yes i don't like my friends.
Aetherflux one life gain is cumulative (if that's the right word to use); say you cast Aetherflux and then another spell, you get one life. If you cast another spell, you get 2 life instead of 1 (so 3 total), then the next spell gains you 3 life (6 total) and so on. You'd get to the point where you're gaining a whole lot more life than you're losing very quickly.

Yedora, Grave Gardener is a combo machine
You can also perform the sharuum loop with just a sac outlet. Sac in response, trigger resolves, target sharuum, repeat.
The dralnu one can use something like Narset's Reversal on a scepter to make Dralnu the commander and the combo still works.
Was just about to comment that the Dralnu-combo isn't legal is Dralnu is Commander but this works yes.
I'd like to see some true budget B/U combos for Dralnu. From one Mitch to another, please make this happen.
Isochron Scepter says: "You may exile an instant card with converted mana cost 2 or less", no Sorcery Mitchel @23:24
You exile the pull from eternity with isochron scepter, then each turn cast it using the ability. That puts the extra turn spell in your graveyard, which you can then cast using Dralnu's ability
@@dylanperkins2883 I get it, but he still read the card wrong ;)
I am curious how the Dralnu combo works with him as the commander. Doesn't it need white as part of the color identity?
I was about to ask the same thing.
This needs answer!
Idk if you've seen this one before but
Riyona fire dancer and combat celebrant plus any instant or sorcery give you infinite combat phases
You actually don’t need an instant or sorcery because she makes X copies where X is 1 plus the number of instants or sorceries cast this turn.

Why do you make me relive these awful experiences I have one through
Found a crazy combo building Araumi of the dead tied.
For that first K'rrik combo, assuming you're only using life instead of mana, you have to be at 37 or more life for it to work.
So I'm just wondering how the pull from eternity + temporal trespass combo is going to work if dralnu is the commander seeing as he isn't white
neither the sharuum nor the bladewing combo work with just one clone.
Magda is broken because she can literally tutor your combo onto the battle field by herself
Magda with liquimetal coating/ mycosynth latice and clock of omens allows for infinite tapped treasures tokens.
The extra turn spell doesn’t have to exile. Pull from Eternity can get it back from flashback
I think one of my nastiest combos I’ve pulled before is attaching Freed from the Real onto my commander, Zaxara, allowing for infinite mana in a deck that was already all about x costs.
Well it's infinite blue mana anyway
@@LegendLeaguer you stock up a bunch of blue so you can afford to tap Zaxara for other colours
You can do the same thing with nyxbloom, but instead of pili pala, you can use magus of the candelabra, which utilizes alll of your lands
Alesha who smiles at death + master of cruelties to instakill someone with no blockers
Isn't Dralnu A Dimir commander? What alternative can there be for pull from eternity?
Yawgmoth combos with Scarab Nest allowing you to kill all your opponent's creatures and draw you a ridiculous number of cards.
How can Dranlu use "pull from eternity" ???
SHARUUM HAS A SPECIAL PLACE IN MY HEART
Teshar ætherflux reservoir loop with the bauble and Ruins right?
Mizzix+mystic retrieval+runic repetition then just add a ritual for infinite mana and then infinite spell casts, let’s say time warp for example
Correct me if wrong, but for the first two can't you sacrifice the original as a cost of activating an ability in response to the EBT Triger going on the stack and then target the og with its ability resolving?
Hey Sharuum is the one I commented!
So does a creature enters and is also a land. Does it not still have sommoning sickness and unable to tap?
How does Dralnu combo work? You can only use blue and black spells but in the video you used a white spell
in my ashaya deck i use Ashaya + ley weaver to create infinite mana, as well as ashaya + ley weaver + karametras acolyte which also creates infinite mana, basically many things can create infinite mana with ashaya shes awesome.
ashaya has several ways of going infinite that are way way easier, i use ley weaver, she taps to untap 2 target lands, tap one for mana then tap her targeting herself and the other to untap.
I'm playing a Zacama Landfall deck with ashaya, and some land bounce effects like Living twister. Didn't realize i had a combo till i had it on the field. Destroy every non land non planeswalker permanent, gain infinte life and mana. Yes i don't like my friends.
With Sharuum and Bladewing, cant you just sacrifice them in response to the trigger so you dont even need clones?
some what confused now, does artifacts that tap for mana really work with Nyxbloom? so would doubling cube work with him then?
Ellis Norn plus a mass land animation spell
Wouldn't the Leshrae's sigil + Aetherflux Reservoir combo just drain you of life instead of gain because of the 8 life you spend to cast and recast?
This is what I’m talking about. I’m actually looking through the comments and can’t find a good answer…
Instant like just for teshar
I really wanna see what he would do with pir and toothy
Wouldn't blasting station also work with Sharoom and the dragon commander?
For the kenerith combo he also for gets he can net a extra 2 mana with hearthstone so it only cost black
Wait a moment! Dralnu color identity is UB. How can you put white Pull from Eternity there?
