That remodel! Just wow. I'm so glad you hopped back to your old world and showed off the difference. It's amazing how much of a change this update brought to the game's aesthetics. Everything looks so incredible now compared to old building methods and textures.
With the door thing, why not clip the double stacked doors half a tile into the floor and see if your player triggers both. If its a proximity thing it should work, but if its a “steps on block in front of” kinda thing neither door may work at all. Worth a try
when you tried to build the hanging lights in the control room and you couldn't build down, it was because you hadn't switched to vertical mode while building
@@NicholasMarshall I think I dont quite get what you're saying. Are you saying we need to be able to write some code in game with assembly or are you advocating for the devs to write the server code in assembly?
@@Emile50 I don't think anyone should have to write assembly, it's not healthy for your brain lol I feel like he either wanted dedicated servers with he ability to write customer code (sorta exists, there are mods to move servers to the cloud) or maybe in-game computers we can manually code to control factories, which also exists in a (very good) mod. Downside of the computer and networking mods is I end up spending all my time programming control systems instead of building the damn factories
The reflections in the windows have an issue it seems, when the lights are too far behind the player and they de-render (via Frustum Culling) to save memory, the reflection vanishes as well. It kinda reminds me of when my Minecraft lagged badly (even with optifine) years ago on my potato-pc and I looked down at just the right angle to see that the chunks behind me were unrendered so it was just infinite darkness. Frustum Culling. You know, I looked up what the technique was called just for this XD Edit: Well its not just the lights, its everything.
it looks like screen space reflection, a hack that uses only what's on the screen to calculate reflections. As a result it cannot show what is not rendered on screen. environment maps or RTX could fix those. But they have costs.
That's pretty normal. You see minor effects like that in tons of games. Often you can notice lighting/shadows changing when a light moves off the screen.
@@ratchet1freak Yeah, the cost/benefit of making reflections work accurately vs the work that would have to go into it means its not really that important. 'Tis why it's merely an issue and not a problem :P
@@moimoi9995 That is true, however this is only a concern for those of us with beefy PCs (not me lol) who actually use high/ultra graphics settings, otherwise someone like me doesn't even play with reflections on. My poor old GTX650 is far too weak to do anything, its also terribly mismatched with my new hexacore Ryzen 5 :P
im so confused, for the emergency system, why did he shutdown everything? why not just shut off the input of plutonium, then it will gradually process it all (without bringing in more to replace it), then all the rods will be awesome sinked until all plutonium and nuclear waste is processed and sinked, and the radiation will go away (im planning on getting the game, so my understanding of it is from youtube, please clear up why my thing wouldnt work cuz its fairly obvious
Yes, highly recommended. I don't know how people build (and debug) complex factories without colour-coding the pipes. (Especially for oil refineries, where you're dealing with 4 different liquids, fairly close together.)

Wow. That was... eventful, for a construction project. I like how the lack of jetpack availability with the hazmat suit, you were punished for building an unsafe work site. Also, that bit with the caterium is a good showcase of just how many points of failure you need to recheck when doing that sort of testing.
what you should also do for future ImKibitz is write a note on the screen of what is in what colour pipe so "exp yellow pipes would be acid and water would be blue and so forth"
Could you have red lights turn on when you turn on meltdown procedures? Like have lights in the background that aren't turned in, but that turn on with the switch? That would be cool
I almost always end up have to unbelt and rebelt sections of some factory because I screw up and end up sending the wrong materials or parts into a factory. I got tired of it, so now I set up a smart splitter(s) to a container(s) that only allow the proper materials to pass through. It's a life saver. Why do you have Mk.2->Mk.1->Mk.2 pipes on the pipes in the control room? You can see what I'm talking about at 12:05. Absolutely love your content man!

After which, two issues arose. 1) A minior backup of the system from the Teir 1 acid pipe & the few non-overclocked Water Extractors. Likely ensuring Uranium threw put was at capacity. 2) The Uranium Train derailed, leaving the Drones to be the sole source of Uranium supply for a short period before you shut the Reactors down. Any Caterium left in the Drone port from your testing, that would otherwise not be loaded due to Uranium taking priority, would be loaded into the Drone. Largely from the Uranium supply to the Port not keeping up with the more rapid Drone flights during the Train Derailment to Ractor Shutdown time period. Even then, elements of waste processing and Uranium Fuelrod production would still be using some of the raw Uranium Ore for a period after the Reactor Shutdown occurred. All but ensuring the raw Urnaium Ore delivery's still happening in the interim were handled exclusively by the drones. Ultimately, resulting in that small amount of left over Testing Caterium bring loaded onto the Drone when it was attempting to maintain Supplying the Demanded Uranium Ore.

For the acid, put the pipe junction "flat" and the emergengy pipe behind the valve parallel to the normal exit pipe...would look much better as the funky pipe you did :)

They nee to add radouts that are customizable. That way you could make signs... or displays that show the power output... and make custom ones that can be attached to any belt or pipe... or vehicle for a throughput per hour or some other way of measuring things. Then you could have a bank of displays in the control room showing everything at a glance. You are kind of doing that by running the pipes and belts through there. Think of just little boxes that show the throughput as a percentage in a color code... green for 100%, to yellow for 50%, to red for 0%. You could then have a bank of boxes with numbers and a sign over them like water pipes to reactors... and see how ALL of them are flowing. Think of seeing EVERY pipe, belt, train, drone, storage... at a glance on one wall.
“Having those industrial lights hanging doesn’t vibe with me.” Proceeds to hang literally hundreds of pounds of concrete from a glass wall with the integrity of a literal piece if paper in this setting.
You should have a flow chart signs for the entire nuclear set-up. That way if anything goes wrong again, you have a way to quickly deduce where the problem would lie.

Since you are leaving the nuclear power plant and don't need a checklist, you should turn it into emergency shut down procedure checklist that details how to shutdown the plant.

You should build a slightly taller single pillar wide standing platform in the middle of the switches (on the top of the highest point). Sort of like a commander's perch or where you'd see a throne or a pulpit in an old church... Just something slightly taller than what you have now but very similar to the platform where the control room switches sit on. with the railing and the stairs up etc...

Roof panels of any type don't have snap points under them, only on their edges and on top. I ran into this days ago and it was driving me nuts.
