- There are a handful of tricks in the history of street skating that were absolute game changers and helped push us to where we are today. Bachinsky's El Toro kickflip in 2006 was one of them.

"Kickfliping on flat ground and kickfliping down el toro, I feel like its the same thing." ...If only I felt the same haha
I know lol. I can kickflip el toro all day, but FLATGROUND?! Damn man thats just ridiculous. Thats why he's one of the best. Really pushing the limits with this flatground shit.
rightttttt!!!!!! huge difference goin from el toro to some next level flat ground tricks!
Unfortunately, Ryan Sheckler doesn't feel like its the same thing..
Cathal Carolan "This dude knows how to ride a skateboard"
+Cathal Carolan hes got a very rare skate mindset
This how I felt when I first ollied three stairs
Haha I hear ya brother. And you're so stoked when you do it ya know.
That's how I felt when I ollied off 1 step bro!
You prolly just rolled it and thought you lilies
@@ColdFlame53 I like lilies :)
ColdFlame53 I’m sensing a hint of jealousy
14 years later and Bachinsky's kickflip still holds the crown. Legendary..
I think Decenzo's nollie is harder imo, although it's close. Also, Jaws did a kickflip melon I believe.
@@librarycard3748 i believe he means that no one has done a bigger kickflip
@@waax3255 no one has really done anything bigger than a kickflip
@@PunkFuckUp chris joslin did stick that 3flip tho
waax Lol he didn’t stick it. He knows it too.
Now THIS is a series. Try to get the Jeremy Wray water towers gap. He just said on weekend buzz that there are a bunch of clips of it and I guarantee you he'd be down to talk about them. Keep making these.
thumbs up for this person!!!!
i was about to write the same thing about Wray watertower gap... that was insane
That was 411vm. wonder if they can get ahold of em
Brian Graves Guarantee it, Josh Friedberg and Jeremy Wray are still around. As long as they're both into it and they've got the rights to the footage, shouldn't be no problem, eh?
Plus that water tower gap was a Thrasher cover, too, they probably have footage. I think it was the end of his deluxe blacklisting or something. He quit one deluxe sponsor and they booted him AND Jonas from all their companies, I believe that cover marked the end of all that.
Older el toro where there was still a rail down the mid. Rip el toro.
And now it’s gone
@@541sanchez Joslin said you can still skate it if you bondo all the strips and cut out the gate
Yeah, it's the same as landing a kickflip on flatground...until you land primo!
****LANDING buddy not being a poser and landing primo
bye, bye ankles.
Way harder to land primo off a drop, you have way more time to kick it out and realize you're landing primo. Flat ground nope it's just a surprise.
@@stpbasss3773 exactly plus youd be catching the board way before you land
if u caught it primo down a 20 stair you couldnt still stick it you would immediately kick out
One of the biggest moments in skateboarding history
@2:18 That sounds is beautiful!
That "Oh my god" at the end always stands out to me. I remember listening to it as a kid. Skateboarding history right here.
Still one of the gnarliest tricks to go down!
the fact that he kept trying after headbanging from a 20 stair is impressive in itself... this is like braveheart for skaters....
'My War' is the best thing to happen to skateboarding videos in awhile.. thumbs up to all involved. good stuff.
dude those pants and shoes..... brings me back
Padooshka hell yes man. i couldnt see what type of shoes but that was the golden era. check out @ChompOnKicks instagram
@MR Esotericana Breaking them in took a few days though.
@@Bonesph yea thats an issue but ever since they started making hella thin shoes skaters have been ankles rolls left and right so i'd rather take a few days for my shoes to break in rather than sitting on an ankle roll that takes 2 and a half weeks to heal
@@nineridesshotgun they were Jeremy Wray Adios V4 I'm fairly certain.
These series "my War" are fucking awesome! This gave me the gooseeeies
MORE MY WAR EPISODES!!
This will never not be incredible. Timeless.
My War is on a curb lol
+PunkSkaful lmao
Right hahaha I had one today. Took me like 15 tries to get a Front Shuv off a 3 set
+Angus Hills Mine was half-cab heel up a 4" curb. Rad stuff...
+Alejandro Gonzalez That sounds hella dope actually. Half Cab Heels are dope. Would imagine it'd be damn hard to do up something.
+Angus Hills Yeahh they look so juicy! Man I celebrated like all the My War celebrations into one! LOL!
That "Oh my GO-HAHAHAHAHAHA" sticks in my mind. Witnessing that has to be incredible.
This will be talked about forever. Great job dude :)
So clean
Still one of the best tricks of all time
These my war videos are sweet and exactly what thrasher needs to keep uploading. Dave is the complete definition of a skateboarder and I still think this is the best trick of all time.
i love these "my war" videos. so easy to watch and it plays like a movie with a story and a conflict and satisfying resolution
Its about time dave gets the recognition that he deserves
the pigeon at 2:24 was like "holy shit, wtf did i just see"
MrBrN197 pigeon was in so much shock it turned into a tripod
fucking moron thats not a pigeon
+Connor Murphy Ikr WTF is that lol
LMAO
No it wasn’t, u made that up.
this is the best series ever.
so many tricks ive wanted to know the back story for
and im sure there is so much awesome footage sitting on tapes waiting for this show.
After watching DBs kickflip so many times i feel that the reaction 'OH MY.. AHAHAHAH!' has become legendary along with the trick. Haha.
Always nice to remember that time
this series gives me the chills, keep em' coming
Best series by far!
bachinsky makes New England so proud!!! epic!
So dope more of these!
YES!!!!!! Please keep making these. They get me so hyped to go skate!!!
My war: kick flip local park seven stair
Jake Mathis good luck
Jake Mathis how'd that go??
+GreenessCP he sacked it on a rocket kickflip
Yeah did u land it?
Jake did you land it ?????!!!!
Just found these 4 years later. Amazing shit wish they still made them.
Will always go down in the books for one of the gnarliest tricks done in skateboarding.
Glad he's getting more recognition. Check out his "what the fuck is a bachinsky" part. Very underrated
Instantly became a legend and not only that but one of my favorite skaters immediately "never heard of him until this infamous kickflip, of course he's so more than that!".
One of the most epic tricks ever done. Dave Bachinski, Tech God and can kickflip El toro. He’s got it all.
Best series you got on thrasher
Love these "my war" videos.
This is such a sick series. Keep doing them!
Lets see a my war on sandovals 20 stair Fs Flip!
Nightspeeds I️t happened yay what’s up
Forget where he talked about it but I guess it went down kinda fast. Like less than 5 tries or something
@@zestymoves 6 tries
Sandovals fs flip is definitely epic but this kickflip is still the biggest and gnarliest flip trick to go down the biggest set of stairs.
I really like theses new " My War" videos. Gives you a lot more insight into whats going down and more appreciation for the clip and skater to I think. Awesome idea. I want to see more, I need to see more, My Wars.
Keep the my war sections coming thrasher, Great content.
I just screamed in shock with a huge smile on my face as if I was there and as if I had just seen this for the first time. Still unreal.
This is seriously my favorite skater and video
That shit was sick! I love when they explain just how gnarly a spot really is
man, remember watching this back in 2007 when i was 15. 31 now and its still the best thing done down that set.
Next episode of My War: Shane O´Neill Nollie Backside Heelflip Wallenberg please!!
He probably pulled it way too easy to qualify for a MY WAR, they'll have to put it on first try fridays instead.
ramayomama
No doubt, more like MY 6 TRY WAR
+Danny Darkslide YES
Love these!
Oh my god this is so good
the angle at 1:45, no slomo, is the best thing ever. i feel like i see the entire history of skateboarding flash before my eyes as he's just floating forever
Still one of my favorite clips. Feels like a situation we have all felt with kickflipping a set. Except a 5 stair, not a 20.
Pioneers. REPRESENT!
Still one of the best clips ever
my war always giving me goosebumps
I can't imagine how much a bail would hurt on those stairs
for sure keep this series going. this is fucking awesome, thrasher.
Favorite series that Thrasher has ever had and there's only two episodes haha.
been to the spot. its MASSIVE! haha dave is the MAN
Really nice video, music fits so perfect
This was crazy god bless this man
Bachinsky is a legend
I was a Jr in high school when this happened. It was my prime skating years and I'll always remember this magazine. I forget which magazine it was but it said "El Toro Kickflipped" on the front of it. It was a big deal back then. Super sick..
awesome video
This new series is so sick
One thing that is so special about skateboarding is the brotherhood. Nothing drives progression quite like your brothers
Not only did he kickflip it. It was a good one. Clean landing. No hands needed.
killer footy very clean the forces have been tamed cool to see the middle rail
Amazing spot!
Years later, those of us old skaters that can't do it anymore, this is still gnarly. I never been there but known a few people that have ... it's so much bigger in person according to them, you're basically jumping off a 2 story house. In my prime I wouldn't think to try this, nor did I have the skill, but that kickflip was so clean, nothing but respect.
Ever since the Dane Burman video I've been waiting for another 'My War'
Trick! Thats got to be in the top 5 of tricks ever.
joslins most likely gonna hard flip , 3 flip, and maybe switch fs flip it. won't be that surprised.
Back 3 maybe?? He's got a amazing one
Chris Ochoa was thinking that too, really he could potentially do anything.
That's way to true
szymborski11 nah either bs biggie or 3 flip
Skateboarding-010 he hard flipped that 17 with the massive rail people skate now, hard flips totally possible.
A true game changer. Absolute legend.
1:45 is the best possible angle to capture this epic kickflip!
This was got me hyped to skate as a kid. This shit right here omg
Awesome!
Just mind blowing back in the day. Still is C R A Z Y!
U stick any trick @ Toro u are an instant LEGEND
Nice one Dave
For some reason I pause all of these n count the stairs, then think would I even run n jump off it, answer nope, hats off boys, love the vids
going to woodward skatecamp on 07/14 this summer. I can't believe that i'ma see this guy.😃😃😃
Hell yeah!!!! High 5 to all of you who watch this.
that was dope.
it was so clean too
His approach to skating how he said " kickflip flat and El toro same thing " he is absolutely correct. That's good mindset for skating
These "My War" episodes are awesome
thanks
this is my favorite my war
I'll never forget the biggest trick I've ever done on El Toro. It was April 1st, 2018 not long ago. I told my brother to hold my cellphone and film me doing a heelflip on El Toro. He knows heelflip is one of my best trick. I can do it better than any other trick. But as everyone knows this is not your ordinary place. He hated me for it but he went along anyways. I've never been scared my whole life. I took my board. I ran really fast, got on my board, straight to the car and sped away. April foooools!
I have so much respect for guys that go big it's so scary my brain just rejects it I can't do anything more than five stairs
THIS IS CRAZY!
yoooo i remember when like 4 years ago i was watching a people are awesome and this was in it
This is gnarly
How is this not at 1 mil yet?
My warrr, you're one of them, you say, that you're my friend but you're. One of them - one of themmm!
So beautiful
5000th like. love these vids
