It's because My War captures the essence of human perseverance. Going for the primal rush while enduring physical and mental torture is why skateboarding will forever be a top tier sport and hobby that speaks to the soul of many many humans. It's one of the youngest sports on earth yet it captivated the world organically.
I haven't done tricks in years but I still love to cruise around and carve. Being a skater comes down to your passion and your heart, not how often you get on a board.

I hope there is nothing that kept you from learning but, if you ever try, you'll definitely be able to relate to the the commitment it takes to get level.

It's harder to do at this level than any professional sport
"I shed a tear and had a panic attack" is so true. That situation where something really good finally happens and you can't process it.
Did he really have a real panic attack though? Didn't look like it. Anyway amazing war. You just have no idea the battles that go on behind the scenes ♥

@@non_brewed_condiment Yes. Happy, but scary. you have to meet somebody and have a meeting before you get the money. This is in the UK. It actually gave me a lot of anxiety.

This is one of the best formats where you can appreciate what it really feels like when you skate. The trick doesn't matter, it's the feeling of winning the battle.❤
I'm always more motivated to go skate after a My War than an actual part. There is something about seeing pros struggle just like we all do that gets me hyped to skate.

it just depends i think for something like this it was a lot more methodical and meticulous especially since some of those training clips were in between tries

I was blown away by this. So exciting to watch, from start to finish. Glad Dan is ok. Props to him for still filming the rest of the trip. And props to David Reyes for one of the gnarliest tricks I have seen! So glad he is pro, he deserved it a long time ago in my opinion.
What a journey that took. Great accomplishment. Glad you conquered it and got the support you needed along the way.
These “My War” videos need to be an hour long. I can’t get enough of them. They could show every little try, talk about every little detail, everything. I need these to be so much longer.

Maaaan the scariest part of Hubba’s, is how fast you accelerate when you lock in. To do something THAT gnarly and a Hubba THAT MASSIVE!!! Legeny
This dude is so systematic about approaching a trick... ramping up, simulating the exact scenario, researching the commonalities of prior tricks.... respect.
So the clipper hubba has been on this series twice now eh? What I love about this war is the journey seems absolutely integral and necessary. An absolute mission everytime and a lot of the earls visits, Reyes wasn't even close! Which shows some true belief and commitment to fly back again and again.
So good! Goose bumps! Hard work, dedication! Great people! Thank you Thrasher! Thankyou skateboard! Thankyou crew! Thankyou David Reyes! That was fire!

Bro really took "The camera man don't die" to another level. He could have actually took one and gave it right back. So many Wars within a War. Also I feel this one down clipper gets slept on, could be my individual experience and the sheer amount of tricks that have been done on it, but this one in particular stood out for me. Wild to see David's full battle on such a heavy trick that really, like most tricks I see with Pro's, really looks like it was within a couple of tries, no matter how much I know that not to be the case AT ALL lol.
