Stihl HS45 Blade Drive Cog replacement

Hi Folks
This customer while trimming a hedge, hit something that instead of causing one of the blade to pop off the blade cog, caused the cog to shear off.
Never seen this happen before, and a slight nick on one of the blades teeth confirmed that it had tried to cut something too hard.
Also a lack of grease didn’t help.
