- The Wangxian Valley scenic area in Shangrao, #Jiangxi, is home to gorges, peaks, giant rocks, waterfalls, and a variety of #Buddhist temples.
Wangxian Valley is located in the Jiangxi province of China and it is famous for the houses hanging from its cliff. It is a newly depeloping scenic spot built by hand. The construction is mainly an imitatation of an ancient city with its streets and buildings.
There is even an artificial waterfall in there.

Фантастика и красота!- Я про эти древние деревни на скалах слышала еще в советское время (80--гг) в Новосибирске в командировке. Рассказывал мне об этом китаец, который жил в моей же гостинице. Он родом из такой деревни, даже фото своего дома показал. Это старые поселения. Говорил, что жить там удобно: вода чистая с гор течет ручьями, воздух и безопасность, как ни странно звучит для нас. Очень скучал он по -дому. В Китае жил и работал в большом городе. В Новосибирске был уже месяц и считал дни до отъезда, т.к. начальство обещало его в отпуск на родину (в деревню) отпустить.

If I heard correctly, these structures were built in the 1980s strictly as a tourist attraction. How do utilities work? Water, sewage, electricity?

Думаю, там никто не живёт. Это гнезда для птиц. Может быть некоторые дома, на фундаменте там есть, но это так, для вида. Там могут жить, только птицы, странно, что птиц тоже, не видно. Заповедник, для показа туристам. Китайцы, мастера, на такие фокусы.

wasthisarea reconstructed or recent? there are modern touches to the design apparently but it is still gorgeous.
This place was rebuilt and restored. It used to be a place for monks to practice. After restoration, it became a place for travel and vacation.
It's only a hotel. It's not a real village for living. They're already hired people to keep everything in a good order. Just waiting for the guests to pay for the bills.
