I think he placed them there so the sound can travel around the room better. By him placing them there the sound waves bounce off the walls and make things sound louder

Never seen studio monitors placed so low, this guy is missing out on hearing the "sweet spot".

I run the Rhodes through NI Guitar Rig using the Roland Jazz cabinet! I could play it for hours!

Sanjay your space is so feng shui! Love the red accent wall, black furniture, especially that table under your ableton push. Gives a great vibe! A couple of ideas would be to raise the monitors to get the sweet spot at ear level when sitting down & turning that canvas into an acoustic panel would do wonders for the sound. I'm on the hunt for those IKEA chairs in black for my space!
Yeah, I'm going to do a rearrangement of this space real soon and those monitors are moving for sure! Yeah, the Ikea stuff has lasted well and I love the looks. Definitely recommend them. Thanks a lot!

Planning to get a KK m32. I need to play with frequent semitone,chromatic transposes (Indian music). Please help me to know whether and how the keys may be transposed, semitones,chromatically on live playing (not through DAW,post-edit). Does it integrate with Cakewalk(BL) well including the controls? I am stuck up due to the ' transpose ' issue. Thanks.

Man...that would take a long time!! haha! Here's a list of my favorite instruments: Nexus, Omnisphere, Komplete Ultimate 12, all Output instruments. My favorite effects plugins are Greg Wells collection from Waves, all of Soundtoys, and Valhalla VintageVerb.

I'm having desk space issues. Right now I'm just using the transport controls on my keyboards. New desk is on the way.
Just found your channel today, your videos are really helpful. In a newer video, you talk about the Komplete Kontrol S88 - have you replaced the Arturia controller with the S88? Are you still using any other (smaller) controllers in your day to day workflow, or are you now using the S88 for everything? Thanks!
Hi James. I use the S88 mostly but I’ve been waiting for a bigger desk to fit it. In the meantime I’ve been using small keyboards like the M32 and Minilab by Arturia. Still love my S88 though
@@SanjayC Thanks for the response! I have the Push 2, and need to pick up a keyboard midi controller as the pads don't feel natural to me for composing melodies. As someone who used to play classical piano and wants to get back into it (in edition to producing EDM), I want an 88 key controller and had mostly narrowed it down to the S88 and the Arturia Keylab 88.
Based on your review, I'm leaning toward the S88, and then picking up a Minilab or Launchkey Mini for traveling (but can also fit it on my desk if the extra controls are useful in Ableton in addition to the S88 and Push).
I know you said in another video that the Arturia Keylab has better integration with Ableton than the Komplete Kontrol series, but I'm thinking since I already have the Push that's less important, and thinking I'd get more out of being able to browse and manipulate patches on the Komplete Kontrol's screens. I was also reading that a lot of popular EDM VSTs like Serum and Nexus have been integrated into Native Instruments ecosystem, and can be browsed/manipulated directly from the Komplete Kontrol.
So I'm leaning toward the S88 for my setup along with a mini controller for traveling, but wanted to check if your opinion had changed after having a lot of these different controllers available to play with in your day to day workflow 😉

I know this is an old video but how much do you use your vintage Rhode as opposed to using sounds from your library?
Great question. Honestly, I use plugins more because they are much faster. But it may also be because my situation is unique. I need to work super fast to make new music for my youtube channel. If you've got time...I think the real thing is much better

For this video I used the Sony RX100 for most of the shots. But most of my videos are shot with the Panasonic GH5.

Virtually no difference. The preamp will act the same with respect to the UAD Unison technology.

Hey Sanjay! I have a couple questions about headphones. I was looking into the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO's and I have no idea which impedance to go for. How much sound quality would I be missing if I took the 32 ohms over the 80 ohms version? Also, how are the 770's for just listening to music in your opinion?

@@SanjayC Yup, it's a never-ending cycle 😝 but its fun to upgrade! And no, I currently use a Nektar Impact LX88+ as midi keyboard with Cubase and I'm expanding my vst library (really hoping for Arturia and Soundtoys to do a Black Friday special again). Hardware synths seem fun to use and I've read multiple times that the virus ti 2 is a "must have" so if I'll ever buy one that might be my first pick. For now I'll either upgrade my mic or my soundcard first since Ive been using the focusrite 2i2 studio bundle for a few years now! (that rodes is really cool btw, I just got the addictive keys vst edition yesterday!)

If you are an Ableton Live user, then the Ableton Push 2 is an obvious choice and you will be very happy.

my studio is backwards - more animals vs gear...also returning the komplete kontrol - not being able to use it w/Sonar is the factor for me...otherwise, it's great
