Excellent vid! I'm looking to build an ac30 type amp myself at the moment. This companies kits look great, now i could be looking at a dumble instead. haha!
Oh hell ya! It’s diyrecordingstudio! For those unfamiliar his channel is here: m.youtube.com/@diyrecordingstudio Lots of good diy info there! Trinity has a TC15 that gives you matchless/vox tones. Unfortunately it’s not available at the moment. Nik at Ceriatone would be able to point you in the right direction. Their stuff is high quality and with your experience you’ll be able to get by with just a wiring diagram. Let me know if you want to colab on something sometime!
Great looking build! Nice rundown of the features and tones as well. This thing sounds damned good - it’s clearly deserving of the coveted big chungus award.
@shoetiquemusic So far, I've only built 2 Express amps. They're the higher gain el34/6v6 version. They still do an amazing clean sound as well. But the liverpool is the one you might want to look at based on your comments in this video. Pete Thorne demos an original in a video. They're a very simple circuit. They do the clean to mean type thing just beautifully, riding the guitars volume pot. I set out last year to build all the classic amps that I could never afford, and the express truly blew me away. There's a pdf online that's worth looking at. Express build guide 2.0. Definitely a desert island amp for me..
@@soapboxearth2 You've got my interest Soap Box! I've got a compressor and a mic on deck, but I might have to give this one a go after those are done. Here is the pdf build guide for those who are interested: el34world.com/Forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=22434.0;attach=67180
@shoetiquemusic you won't be disappointed! Pacific audio makes the transformer set. They have the original line and the Red Series (less expensive made over seas, identical to the usa model ) you won't believe the harmonics . Pete Thorne demos an original
Jammin as usual, my friend. 😎🤺 Back with another banger, juicier than watermelon, creamier than crimson, ruder than the original rude-boy Bart Skampson... . .
7:20 I really tried to like the Gen Loss mk2, but finally after 6 months I sold it and got a Deco v2. So if nothing else the Gen Loss led me to the Deco...which I think counts as useful? lol Awesome amp build, sounds great.
Hey MoR! I'm always happy to see you in the comments. I hope you labeled your Gen Loss mk2 as 'MINT LIKE NEW - HiGH LateNcY, OrigINAL BASS - NO MOD!!!!'. Someone would probably pay 3x for that. 😂
BOTH 6V6 & 6L6 are fixed bias. The bias switch changes the. impedance of the OT to match the power tubes
Good catch! This is the correct info!
