The Caucasus and the Balkans are very similar, and peace was never fully achieved in both. but the Caucasus is surrounded by 3 powerful states and all of them have different plans in the Caucasus.
The same sums up the Middle East as well as Central Asia to quite an extent as well. Surrounded by strong regional powers that vie for influence
I really think a major war could break out in the Caspian Sea area at some point also. I just don't see Iran and Russia having the same goals long term, and it could lead to a clash for regional power and influence. Plus, Iran's obviously not in NATO or any other major alliance really, which makes it less risky for the Russians.

Lol ı can guess how hard it is to live in a palce surrounded by enemies. But in the other side the situation is depicted very differently. I assume that you are a "normal" person as ı know from my country (azerbaijan) the hatred against armenians is immesurable, the word armenian is the most offensive word in this country far more than any kind of swear words. But as a half turkish and half azeri, the hatred in turkey is so less, people may judge you but not hate like in azerbaijan (tip - just dont talk about politics if you are armenian and in there xd).
