    As someone with possible MCAS who used to be allergic to and intolerant to the most common foods to the point of causing gastritis, esophagitis, severe rashes, and vomiting (onions, garlic, most vegetables except broccoli, summer squash, pepper, carrot, and tomato, anything raw, all spices that weren't ginger, turmeric, or paprika, any meat that wasn't poultry or fish, eggs, dairy products that weren't fermented) - this content makes me feel less alone. It has only been since reducing work, other pain, and stress severely that it has gotten slowly better. I really appreciate that you are able to show us your life despite being ill. Edit: Watermelon has always been a safe fruit for me and a really big comfort when I couldn't eat all other raw foods. Maybe try other melons like the fancy honeydew varieties like Sun Kiss, Lemon Drop, and tons of others. There are slight differences between all of them that affect taste, texture, and reactivity.

    When you cook your fish collect all the oil it makes. You can then fry your turkey in it or you can fry your vegetables in it to give them flavor. Don't forget to add olive oil with it too
    Another idea is making snow cones. Blend up ice. Mash up the fruit and strain the juice in a nut milk bag or juicer. Add your glucose powder to it to add sweetness. Then pour it over the snow like ice and wa la you have a snow cone
    You can also make popsicles using this same method

    Have food intolerances for 15 years now. So I know exactly what you are going through. Never lose hope. Eventhough it might not fully heal it can get better since there is a strong relation to gut health. Since it looks like you can't tolerate a lot of food I would assume the problem is not only histamines.
    In my case I also can't eat high salycilate, high oxalate and some of the nightshades and dairy. Oh and also high FODMAP of course. So yeah there is only a few foods that I can eat to my satisfaction. I'm glad oatmeal is one of them. I make bread with it. Everything else is either off or in very limited amounts. Also anti-histamines help a lot.
    It's not very common so people have a hard time believing it. Don't take it personally and ignore them.

    For a while, I couldn’t have basic bell peppers after a trip to Europe. I’ve since incorporated them back into my diet, so I believe that I may have been sensitive to a pesticide that they no longer use, or maybe I’ve subconsciously picked up organic varieties. Still, I find the psychological burden of a reaction more debilitating than the prospect of becoming ill.
    This situation reminds me of some extreme, cult vegans I used to know. They slowly remove all foods from their diets so they can live on a mountain top and photosynthesize. They are currently on a mountain top. I’m also concerned you’ve come across them, which suggests a serious mental block because shame is just that powerful. You’d think there would be a lot of herbs involved, but the leader swore off it around the time I formally met him. This could be a stretch, but “Hello Forever” is the band name. They say music connects us all.

      I honestly don't know if it was a mix of things, but I think what made a huge difference was reducing the amount of stress in my body. I know a lot of people with MCAS do various limbic system retraining programs. I tried those as well as EFT which accomplishes some of the same things

    Still puzzled at your fun foodchoices. What is the reason for not choosing anything in the sghi 0 list? Like all melons, besides watermelon are in that list for example. I love to see you succeed in your journey, thank u for sharing. Trying a new food can be so daunting!

    • @Kez_abi
      @Kez_abi Месяц назад +3

      Because they're allergic to them! The food they have are not "fun" or "choices" the food they buy is all they can eat! You wouldn't ask someone who is allergic to peanuts why they're not buying peanuts!

    • @user-li8no6ik8t
      @user-li8no6ik8t Месяц назад

      @@Kez_abi I have the same diagnosises as she has. Until coming across her and her approach to foodreintroduction, I have only been tought by doctors and other patients to follow the SGHI List and when reintroducing food, to go with low histamine food first, her doctor reccomanded foods are high on those histamin lists and we are ususally told to start with foods low on that list, andyes, the foods low on that list tendto be less fun, than those higher up. So it is super interesting for me to see that there is a different approach to it, that her doctor suggests different foods. Especially when from all melons, which are considered los histamine, the doctor choses watermelon, which is the only one considered higher in histamine. As someone who goes through the same Thing, I know how scary but also how fun it is to be finally able to try and taste something else. The foods she can eat are mostly opposite to what is reccomande for mcas. So i am highly interested to see and learn and being encouraged through this to Maybe also stray from the strict guideline list or discuss things differently with my doctors, and to try more stuff. It is clear to me from your comment, that you are not familiar with MCAS and did not understand my initial question. The three diagnosises she and I share are still highly missunderstood, scientists and doctors have very different approaches and concepts. it is always intruiging to learn about different live experiences and different routes of Solution, especially when thereis contradictory information. I am sorry that there are apparantly so many negative People out there, that you where only able to read my comment with a tone of judgment and disbelief. It came from a place of awe and curiosity.

    • @smudge8882
      @smudge8882 22 дня назад +1

      The foods she eats are the ones she doesn't react to. As someone with MCAS myself who used to use the SIGHI list, I recommend you don't limit your diet more than you have to. If something doesn't cause an allergic reaction, it's best not to avoid it. Otherwise, you will likely start getting reactions to those foods. Elimination diets like the SIGHI list or low histamine diet are not meant to be done in the long-term. They're only there to help you figure out what you do and don't tolerate
