Props for badass chopper pilot. How good you must be, to pilot chopper with mechanical leg.
He also flys the Kodiak
@@MissionaryBushPilot that is so great to hear. I have some fingers amputated and fly 172. Hope to get to commercial 😊💪
@@MissionaryBushPilot I know that is not easy. I only fly rotors because I have to and never really wanted to. I have a fellow pilot who lost 70% of his arm to a prop in South America. We still roll some great missions down in the Andes.
That was simply fantastic. Probably my favorite one yet. The scenery in that valley, the drone footage, the helicopter... it was just all so well done.
...and the music! You can't go wrong with an Ooyy soundtrack (...although I don't think that's a word.)
A video that had everything! Flying, preparations, ground and drone footage, and of course the wonderful scenery. Thank you for that.
Glad you enjoyed it
I have been a pilot for 34 years. Grounded for 16 months so far after a severe Covid-19 infection. Ended up with lung damage. Don't know if I will ever fly again. But I really enjoy these videos. One more way to stay connected to aviation for me beside flight sim these days. Nicely done!
4:30 Majestical. I'm dead.🤣🤣🤣👍
My dude Stencil, a man of few words, very tight grip on that front cockpit grab rail on the right for the entire flight out, and then chilled, shot selfies and texted on the way back. 😎😁👍
Thanks for your good videos on humanitarian work,i love that job as aviation enthusiast since childhood.Am a christian man in Kenya.keep it up be blessed.
14:54 "oh snap" moment. Makes sense given the remoteness of everything and what you do, just didn't expect that. You are providing such an important service.
Great video Ryan! Best one so far. You mixed in all of the aspects of your work. As a pilot and a former CH-47 Chinook flight engineer, watching the sling loading took me back to my Army days in the 70's. Also say Hello to Stencil, I know how much work being 'ground crew' is. See if you can get him to talk on camera sometime.
Good job, look forward to your future content.
I used to fly a civilian Herc for outsize cargo all over the world. That was reminiscent of a particular runway in Angola in the 70’s and 80’s. It was very short with a slope and a turn around at the top just big enough for us. We could only bring in 10,000# of cargo and depart empty. The aircraft limit was 45,000-50,000# of cargo. I remember the adrenaline the first time I went there. The good thing about that place was we never took ground fire there like some other “airports” in country (the Angolan civil war was raging at the time and neither side necessarily recognized us as an agreed to neutral party).
Now, I’m retired and flying my own 185. You’re a talented pilot, the kind I was always grateful to find and have as a crewmember, and I wish you success in aviation. Maybe I’ll see you in the Idaho backcountry sometime.
This bird is so powerful! It's true, no one flight is the same as the last. The babies are really enjoying a carnival with all the aircraft coming in and going. Never had it so close when I was small! Picturesque landscapes down there. These flights are one Eye-opener. Thanks captain, for the wise words and stay blessed.
Thank you Ryan
Though it's already been said your best one yet in my opinion pure unadulterated scenery, your message at the end was the icing on the cake. Take care of yourself and your family.
Glad you enjoyed it
Thank you, Ryan, for this incredibly interesting video! I loved all parts of it, like your 2 flights and watching the helicopter using the sling carriage. It was amazing! 👏👍🤗
Always nice when you pop above the fog / low clouds and the day above is beautiful. It's a reminder that above all cloudy days is a beautiful day. Another spectacular mountain airport. That airstrip later in the video that you fly over looks super scary & impossible, sheer drops at both ends of the runway. And you look forward to that!
What a beautifull part of the world. Thank for another fine video.
From a channel that has been making constantly great videos and content, this has to be one of the best. Thank you.
Wow, thanks!
This had a bit of everything. Loved the drone shots. Excellent Ryan.
The drone shot of the helicopter departing with slingload is giving me goosebumps.
Thanks Ryan for sharing this incredible experience in PNG! I'm sure it took a huge effort to record while performing your responsibilities. This is your best one yet! Thanks too all your team for your service!
Awesome vídeo! Loved the "fast travel" parts and the always green scenery of PNG.
You can tell the local man is both scared and amazed. What a lucky guy to get to fly like that.
Poor Stencil he looks so nervous 😓
yet adept at using a smart phone. Technology is so, well, destructive?

I was thinking the same thing 😆
@@bongman123 uh, so advanced are they that they stand around half naked staring at the shiny machine descend from the sky because they dont have roads...and you ask me why im shocked the guy is playing with a phone. Yeh, im the deluded one

WOW!! Fabulous footage today. That helicopter pilot rocked that lift. Keep posting amazing videos. Stay safe.
Ryan - this is one of the BEST VLOGs ever. I really appreciated the "on ground" content which gave a great context to the missions of your flights. Please consider including those sorts of enhanced contents on the ground in the future. And, as always, I enjoyed your clear narration of the flight dynamics as you flew from place to place. What a fantastic landscape as well! Thanks for your work.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I loved this flight, it was so beautiful! I couldn’t help notice what looked like a casket removed from the aircraft and I appreciate that out of respect for the families, one must observe respect for this kind of flight. It was emotional for me the there was one last last flight for someone coming home. Much respect for what you do as lives depend on you for a professional service delivery done with love! Thank you for this video!
Epic drone shot following that helicopter. Thanks, Ryan!
Life in a remote place makes you really dependant on those who can move your needed goods. Unsung heroes? yah , mostly. Would not want to do that landing in a rainstorm or in dark conditions. Brother, you got some stones. That is all natural beauty for sure. What a trip and what a valley.
Ryan, as a retired pastor who visited missionaries in the Philippines when I was in the Navy and seeing the hardship they live through when life could be so easy back home, I want to thank you for your service to these missionaries in Papua New Guinea. You are one of hundreds around the world who give their lives in service to others and fly dangerous missions every time you pilots fly. Thanks for taking us along with you.
27:38 When you said that it took you 14 years, I have to say I can definitely relate! It's been well over a decade just on training alone for me (it's taken that long for lots of different reasons). But I'm pressing on and, God willing, I'll be testing for a CPL before the end of the year. Thank you for those encouraging words. Love watching your videos. Keep up the good work brother.
Wild scenery. The landing strip looks hidden until almost the last moments - wouldn't want to get lost here. I had no idea the altitudes were that high in Papua, either. Pretty epic, thanks for sharing
Hi Ryan from Adelaide South Australia. I watch all your videos but this one is the best ever - really enjoyed it . Thanks and keep up the good work.II did a school trip To PNG about 50 years ago when the country was still a territory of Aust. We visited Moresby,Lae and Rabaul and stayed in school dorms with the local kids. We also played a game of Aussie rules football and about 3pm the rains came ! Great times.
Beautiful Countryside. Great coordination on the ground. Excellent Piloting. Enjoyed the video.
What a piece of land!
I liked the music, it was subdued enough to not be annoying. Thanks for the extra content!
How would anyone not like this video!? You my man have my dream job. Keep it up!
Truly magistical! Thanks for another great video Ryan!
That is really amazing scenery, Ryan. Millions of kids, eh? Guess there's no TV up there? Your sped-up footage when you fly at 400 mph is fun.
Hey my brother Ryan wow this video was awesome & pls make more videos like this & I love looking at the beautiful valleys & waterfalls in PNG & yes your job is awesome as well my brother Ryan & my prayers are always with you in the air & NTK.
Brilliant. I love New Tribes Mission and MAF. We get their newsletters , but I'm always frustrated how few videos there are of the flight details - for those of us interested in flying, that's what we want!! Great to see and I'll be back for more! God bless everything you do. Ha ha ha...I was just gonna make the 'majestical' comment myself!!
Well, now I know heroes are real. Great video - epic, in every sense.
Very nice to see on the ground Mr. Handsome...good job, thx for sharing, love from New York ❤ 💕 💗 👏
Great blog Ryan, loved this format. Not sure if anyone noticed but the hello pilot had prosthetic legs, which shows that you never weak of body, if you are strong of spirit..
This has to be one of your all time best videos! Love the view! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for showing and sharing your work space ,.........too good.......stay safe.
I almost had a life change that would have relocated my family to Juneau to be a "not bush pilot at all" passenger pilot between there and the many small towns around there. I made one mistake on the check ride and the owner (son of Layton Bennet - LAB flying service) said I scared him too much.
He scared me too. As I walked around that place and talked to the mechanics I knew they were doomed. So many violations talked about openly. Sure enough...the FAA closed them down not too many years later.
So...I had a chance to fly around ALL the towns reachable in a Piper from Juneau and saw things I'll remember forever. It's okay not to have gotten that job. It was a spectacular week.
Simply ... AWESOME! Solid work Captain! 😎
Flying is magical..You make the approach and landing look easy..💯🙌🏾💪🏾 Will love to see how you prepare before flying to those tough airstrips.. On the ground format is just spectacular..And thank you for the word of advice..💯💯💯
I bet that coffee was the best ever ! Thanks man. Your'e a star!
Refreshing new perspective on your operation there. Very enjoyable!
Loved the blog style!! I flew PNG for another large NGO in the late 80’s-90’s. It’s an adventure I will never forget. Your doing an amazing job, I am grateful for you.
That drone shot following the heli taking off was awesome! So was the flyby. Thanks for taking us along!
Hi sir. Thank you for sharing your amazing experience with US!!!👍😉
My pleasure!
15:05 Wow that shot just amazing! Heard it thousands of times but man keep up the good work!
Love it when you show maps! I have a BA in Geography.
Haha. Majestically majestic. Those fallaas! 😂😁. Kuul video 📹 Ryan. Breakout was tops!!
What a real gentleman, and you're doing this for faith. Thank you for such great videos and thanks for your giant heart.
That was a beautiful, super interesting video. The Plane Faith Podcast said it perfectly. The color and clarity of the scenery capture of the outside cameras is outstanding. Had to rewind and watch it again.
I like this format.
Beautiful country indeed. Thanks for sharing
Ur certainly right about the scenery there. One of those rare places that everything is just amazing.
And ur very educational for all those kids who probably walked a ways just to see you guys. Also quite possibly a dream for some of them, proof that they, too, can “become a PILOT” someday. 😎
Good morning from Minnesota USA!! Leeper up the great work Ryan!!
Gracias for taking ol Stencil and USa along..
Concur... the few seconds of getting to see the places, effort, activity .... the stuff that defines why you do what you do .... was very nice to see. Thanks so much
Well trained Pilot, you manage to land the aircraft perfectly despite of the terrain. Good job
This was a terrific episode. Stunning beauty. Thanks
Beautiful location! Enjoy the ground footage...another good one Ryan
Everything you share with us - just amazing!!
Great job Ryan. Your passion for your ministry shines through.
Great video I liked the additional ground video and watching the helicopter with the sling load. Definitely a nice change of pace.
This was one of your best yet videos. I liked the ground segment when it was together with your flight there and back, Great stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it!
So why are there so many people and kids when you are unloading? Are they excited about the airplane or the delivery? I am so happy to see you helping with your airplane. Warms my heart.
There isn't much excitement out in these bush locations, so when the plane comes, school stops and everyone comes out....reality tv for them
@@MissionaryBushPilot Awesome dude! Keep up the great work and thanks for the videos.
For sure one of your best videos to date Ryan! Awesome!
That's Awesome Ryan. Very informative with the walk and explanation of what You do.....Love it...Be safe always with wheels up...prayers. ...Thank You.
Always a treat watching your content!
Thanks Ryan!!
I didn't "like" this video; I *LOVED* it! One of your very best videos! Thank you for sharing, as it's hard not to travel anymore...

Ryan, thanks for this video. I really liked it a lot; probably one of your best. Stay safe, brother!
This is a great video. thank you for this excellent job. Very pleasant to watch.
Hi mate. Love your videos. Grew up in Vanuatu and an aviation enthusiasm . Very professional videos. I am your co pilot every time I am watching you. Keep up the good work mate.
Great story about the ground conditions
Agree - best video so far. Thanks for posting.
You are such a good ambassador to the world and am living your dream, kudos to you sir.
GREAT video. The best one you've done in my opinion. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
Love this format the best! Just even a small amount of interaction with the people would add so much to the reality of the mission. Thanks for your dedication.
Really Loved the drone footage. Thanks for the show!
Thanks Ryan, that was great. Love your job and your attitude.
Great episode, beautiful landscapes. I love these landings where the runway begins practically right at the bluff edge.
Every day is like a vacation for you because you love your occupation. Cheers!
Great video Ryan. I agree, one of the best ! Be safe. Bill, from Boston
Glad you enjoyed it
I love how the helicopter pilot taxi's like any other aircraft.
It's often true actually, helicopters often take off and taxi like any other aircraft, as long as there's somewhat of a strip. Wheeled helicopters even taxi on the ground lmao
Beautiful video and fascinating insight into your work. Thanks a million Ryan
Very well done. Excellent photography. And yes, majestical.
Glad you enjoyed it
Good work with your videos, Ryan. I enjoy them very much and also the scenery is very nice.
Hey Ryan, greetings from Germany. really one of your best vlogs so far, thumbs up!
Hey, thanks!
Awesome video!! Loved the flying and ground shots. Great mix.
I knew a dedicated missionary pilot who was killed fairly young. Peter Bell had a Cessna 310 he stuffed with clothes and other things and flew that plane from Torrance, CA to Rancho Piloto in Mexico. That character is good no matter who does it. We should show more of this...if not only for us as a society.
He was an A&P along with being a skilled multi-engine pilot. He went out for test flight one day over towards Catalina Island and was never heard from again. I can't figure out anything after that from the standpoint of religion or god...I still admire that dedication.
Your best video yet Ryan! Really enjoyed it, that approach and landing in the valley was AWESOME! The drone shots were great footage as well. You are truely blessed! Stay safe and well!
this is one of the great reasons being involved with aviation is the best thing in the world. great video mate keep up the great work!
you really has the best job in the world, its phantastic to see how helpful your work is.your vlog is my favourite!
Awesome Job Ryan. Thank you for sharing and keep up the great job. God bless and best regards from Goroka
