    • @AwoudeX
      @AwoudeX 6 лет назад +2

      you take more time making the 'hack' than the time you'd spend hammering the nails into whatever object. Just bring the container with the nails...Also it doesn't work for bigger nails, either the nails drop off as a bigger force is applied to the nail due to added weight and harder swinging of the hammer.

    • @brentthomas2931

      They can, sometimes, although I've found that if it's going to come out at all, its a matter of applied pressure. Having worked in refurb, the amount of stripped screws I've had to remove astounds me. More often than not the elastic got in the way.

      @painkillersclan 7 лет назад +12

      we can keep going, using a nail to hold the end of your tape? but come on now, using two nuts on a bolt to loosen or tighten a similar sized nut? that one is nifty.

      Helpful for us amateurs that didn't know, though. Like hooking the tape measure slot on a nail, and that your cutter has a built-in piece to break away to a fresh blade. Also consider that we amateurs are the ones that never have the proper tool on hand.

    • @genericaction
      @genericaction 7 лет назад +2

      The issue is a lot of these are proper usage, and a lot of them made me cringe and for someone who doesn't know a lot about tools it could be dangerous to confuse them.

      For the record though people thinking the drill thing was a bad idea was bogus... but you might want to be careful trying that if your on the brawny side. Wrenches turned sideways like that aren't that hard to snap. There is a reason they are shaped with the thickest part of the metal the plane of force you are applying. Odd's are if you can't get to loosen with one wrench the force it would take doing that would snap the second one.
      I highly recommend tapping it a few times with a rubber mallet, or a chunk of 2x4 to "break" the nut.

    The car jack one is a great way to break your drill.
    Or the jack.
    Or your arm.

    • @cdouglas1942
      @cdouglas1942 7 лет назад +21

      No No No.
      That type of jack is intended to operated by a hand crank. Torque requirement is not great. A modern drill should be able to do this. An issue would be getting enough grip by the chuck.
      Your arm is not at risk unless you hold on when the jack tops out...who would do this?
      Your drill won't break because if torque requirement to too much drill just wont turn.

    • @HalbdaemonKite
      @HalbdaemonKite 7 лет назад +7

      >That type of jack is intended to operated by a hand crank.
      That was one of my issues with the setup. A hand crank might not be built to turn this fast. If you don't hold your drill completely straight everything could get bent out of shape.I mean sure, the jack breaking is probably the least likely scenario, but still, I don't think "electrically" operating something that's supposed to be operated by hand is good for it.
      >Your arm is not at risk unless you hold on when the jack tops out...who would do this?
      Or if something jams.
      A friend of mine actually broke her arm, because she used some heavy duty Hilti drill to drill a hole in her cellar wall. The drill itself got stuck, which caused the machine to turn instead, breaking her arm in the process.
      >Your drill won't break because if torque requirement to too much drill just wont turn.
      It's true drills got that safety feature, but I gotta be honest, I don't entirely trust the durability of cheaper drills.

      Yea, it's a really unbalanced weight. I had a drill piece (well, more like a wood work piece) bend on me and fly out of the drill at a rather high speed cause it was unbalanced x-x

    • @HigherWisdom
      @HigherWisdom 7 лет назад +2

      Good point, Halbdea. It may be possible to use a powerful drill, but at least start off slow with it to make sure the car is supported properly, and the jack is actually supporting the weight. I cringe thinking the jack could come skittering out and the car falling, if the jack isn't in the correct location.

    • @madtrader117
      @madtrader117 7 лет назад +9

      As long as the drill speed is variable based on trigger pressure I'm sure this could be done at a speed that is safe enough.

    Things that you shouldn't do on this list :
    Use any tool for food preparation purposes all tools have a thin layer of oil on them that is not good for digestion.
    Do not use an electric drill and a hack saw to cut through a bolt this will cause a week point in the hacksaw blade meaning you will have to replace the blades more often this is due to concentrated heat made and the ware in one single point of the saw

    • @Knoar
      @Knoar 7 лет назад +20

      Good points. I'd like to add that relying on magnets or rubber-bands to keep sharp pointy objects from flying off a hammer or other tool is probably a bad idea.

    • @floflospeed24

      another tip : allways cut the bolt a
      under nut position, not up like shown. so, if you damage the treads while cutting (blade could slip, for example) you'll be able to remake them by unbolting the nut. :)

    The box cutter one blows my mind when people don't know the blade snaps so you can get a fresh cut and utilize more of the tool, rather than keep buying a whole blade.
