I quite strongly believe that you can include another authors issue within a specific authors run. For instance they included a few Tomasi issues in Geoff Johns’s Green Lantern and that’s the way it should be. Yes it is Geoff Johns’s run, but he’s allowed to have guest writers. That doesn’t make it any less of Johns’s vision or story. It’s just a quest spot. Fully welcome and inclusive.
Amazing list! My most wanted one is also Michelinie and Bagley Omni. Post-Ben Reilly era, one collecting the next chapter issues left out of the Byrne Omni and Paul Jenkins' run would take the places of Dan Slott, BND and Gauntlet Omnies on my list though

Great video. I agree with your suggestion that for creator centric omnis they should include issues written by others. It makes no sense to me when they don’t do this and skip over stuff like DC with the JLA omni. Just because you include issues by other folks doesn’t mean you can’t still title it with the writer whose work comprises the vast majority of the Omni. Also, loved seeing this video because I’m relatively new to comics (only started collecting two years ago) and have nowhere near the knowledge you do about Spider-Man. All the various trades, hardcovers etc across all the different lines can make it very daunting and confusing to many readers especially with a character like Spider-Man who has a crazy amount of material. This stuff being collected into omnis makes it much more accessible in my opinion and someone new to it doesn’t have to pick up a ton of different books to fill gaps. I have collected a few like big time and gauntlet but would much prefer the omnis you suggested for ease of collecting. Thanks for the great suggestions. It’s obvious that you have put a lot of thought into it and I hope marvel will put out all or a lot of what you want.
Nasir Bajwa I think in some cases doing a creator specific omnibus and skipping around some issues is fine, but in a case like Spider-Man or X-Men where Marvel are doing really well to collect everything in oversized editions it doesn’t make sense. I think my #1 pick for a 616 Spider-Man omnibus would be Spectacular Spider-Man by JM DeMatteis, focusing on his actual lead writing role (unless there might be the inclusion of the Kraven's Last Hunt story to make the Spec issues make sense but prefer to leave them out). This will be his macro story of Peter and Harry until his death in 200. Excellent Sal Buscema art and honestly the best treatment for an underrated run. Outsie of 616 Peter, obvious choices would be Spider-Man 2099 Classic by Peter David and Spider-Girl vol 1 by DeFalco and Frenz/Ollive
Spectacular Spiderman is a great & logical pick. I missed the stern omni the 1st time so hope to get that again. I would also love to see Kraven's Last Hunt in an omni. Gives me a reason as to why I haven't read it yet (I know I know). I only know of the controversy of brand new day, but would still like to read it. If only i could only grab the JMS omnis 1st in these times, particularly the now OOP v1. Have been holding out on zdarksy's life story for a hardcover. Personally I wouldn't mind a OHC for that, but if it can work in an omni, then why not. More spidey is good spidey. I hope to see to rise of Peter David around the marvel universe in omni form, though like JMS spidey, I'm still struggling to get hulk v1 for a good price. Would love to read more about the alien suit. I would feel like people would want to know more about what life was like for spidey during his black suit days. Usually a mass group of writers is a cause of concern in any written work, but with such talented writers, I am definitely intrigued about the days of the brain trust experiment. ASM V5/6 is a given, & the only spidey series I actually have all the omnis of so far. I wouldn’t be surprised if all Zdarsky’s Marvel ouvre wind up in Omni and OHC.
The Omnibus Collector I mean, the knowledge between you and Omar is crazy impressive, and thankfully the connection with David Gabriel is making things happen; the X-Men Inferno Omnibus and AMS by Roger Stern Omnibus reprint are clear examples of this. From a fellow collector’s perspective I just want to say thank you so much for helping so many people get into this hobby! Now let’s keep our fingers crossed for all of these Spidey omnis happening in the near future!
