  • Here's the Zaku II Black Tri-Star Use High Mobility Type for Ortega. The latest kit from the HG The Origins line is another great addition! Although the mobile suit isn't new, the new Giant Heat Hawk and custom stand and effect parts make this kit totally worth buying!
    Thanks again to MindFenix Hobby Store for hooking me up with the kit!

    This was my first kit. And im glad it was a good one. Instantly hooked. 30 kits later and I'm only slowing down for my poor walet

    At 5:45 You'll want to have the inactive Heat Hawk pegged in, almost diagonally into the side skirt, not straight up and down like you were trying. This is for two reasons, so it doesn't interfere with the hoses, and for the "in universe" right hand being able to reach over and grab the handle of the Heat Hawk that is mounted on the left side of the Mobile Suit, like you would a sword in the sheath (only from a weapon read position).

      @ZakuAurelius  8 лет назад +8

      +CrimsonRaptors Thanks for the tip! Honestly I don't like having it mounted on the skirt anyway, so I won't ever really bother with it more outside of doing the review. But if (when) we get another version of this kit I'll keep that in mind!

    Thanks for the review. I managed to pick up the metallic version at the All Japan Model and Hobby Show in September. Had to ship it home surface mail so it should be here in a monthly or two. Your review has me excited.

      Basically a extra layer of explosive reactive armour, just at the cost of ammo, which it would be a good idea to retreat back to the mothership.

    Quality review, I'm glad to see the differences, as I already have the Gaia/Mash and wanted to see whether the Ortega is worth buying. Looks like just enough to take another 20 some dollars out of my pocket. Also, maybe you should do an entire lineup of your Zaku collection.

    It's difficult to try to get it to hold the axe straight for long periods of time. If you bump it the axe will flip over so the blade is pointing at the ground.

    Awesome review! I liked your pacing. =) Great finishing shot at 12:20! Hey +ZakuAurelius, are you able to peg the Heat Hawk into the back skirt? Are you able to peg in the Ammo Drum into the side skirts? Do all The Origin Zaku II shields have the hardpoint pegholes for mounting the spare bazooka magazines?

    • @ZakuAurelius
      @ZakuAurelius  8 лет назад +2

      +CrimsonRaptors I believe you can plug the heathawk into the back skirt but it's really tight, like it's not meant to be plugged there. Drill it out a bit and you'd be fine.
      Ammon into the side skirt I'm not sure, but again, should be an easy fix if you wanna do it. And yes all The Origin shields (so far) are the same and have the ports to hold bazooka ammo.

    • @anonymousli4204
      @anonymousli4204 6 лет назад

      ZakuAurelius I put the ammo on the side skirts so it would be more visible. It's loose so be careful not to lose it

    The seam lines on the arms would have been avoided if the square-ish thing on the lower arm was a separate piece that sandwiches the other two.

    • @ZakuAurelius
      @ZakuAurelius  8 лет назад

      +Hiruma Berserker Exactly, it seems like it would have been really easy to avoid that seam. :/ But I dunno, I guess they had some reason.

    love how you emphasize on its seam lines. when I check out a kit review, all I wanna know is the seam line and how solid (or flimsy) the build is.
    not so keen on accessories, articulation and what not. Accessories are usually revealed in blogsites upon announcement way before any kit is released.
    Articulation, well it is a model kit, not a toy. It's not that we change the pose every day of the week
    Keep up the good work and please, put more emphasis on seam lines for all kit reviews in the future.
    Cheers

    • @ZakuAurelius
      @ZakuAurelius  8 лет назад +3

      +Arif Fauzan Thanks for the feedback! Personally I think articulation isn't very important either. But for some people I guess they like to see that. Of course you can always mod everything, but some people want to see the limitations of the kit if they are maybe wanting to do a specific pose, ya know?

    • @anonymousli4204
      @anonymousli4204 6 лет назад +1

      Arif Fauzan it pisses me off! People always say that he is nitpicking and being too particular! I want to know if it has any problems damn it! I love that he points out all the weak points. If he said he loved everything and that we should absolutely buy it every time then he would lose his credibility.

      A lot of reviewers spend the majority of their videos spinning heads, shoulders, and arms around and talking about nearly 180 degree bends when we just want to know the pros and cons of the model and see what it actually looks like when built.
