1994-1995 season.
The unranked Cardinals, lead by DeJuan Wheat and freshman Samaki Walker, take on the #5 Kentucky Wildcats in Freedom Hall. Walker records the first triple-double in school history.
Jim Nance and Billy Packer announcing.
UofL 88
UK 86
Dejuan Wheat started the resurgence of U of L basketball. Cold blooded floor general, with range.
I wish he was surrounded with the talent Siva had. Probably have 2 more championships! But yea, he put them on his back and was a great, be it quiet, leader! Lead by example.
RIP Coach Crum ❤️🙏🏿
Loved this game. I loved UL as a kid. I had a feeling this one was ours on that day.
Wheat was a helluva player. He doesn't sprain his ankle before N. Car. game his last year, they probably go to the final 4.
Thanks for all of these uploads.
Samaki Walker triple double game !!!
UK fans be like: "We only had 12 players and they still only won by 2."
1:07:38 DeJuan Wheat calls for the switch. Ballgame. The ball is in the hands of the right guy.
Love these old games... and I forgot how ugly them UK uniforms were... Jeeeezus! This game was the ONLY reason Samaki Walker was a NBA Lottery pick
Louisville First, Champions Forever.
that'll be true "Forever"
You got that right!!L1C4EVER
Sweet Wheat.!
What was up with the Kentucky circus pants? Weird😲
Still not sure why he didn't make it in the nba. If he did i never saw him play in a game.
omg i remember this game like it was yesterday LETS GO CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 2013 NATIONAL CHAMPS
Didn't the NCAA vacate that title?
From Houston so I have no dog in this fight, but GOOD LORD was that Kentucky team loaded.

The Blockbirds!
More of these videos please
Wish Osborne did 4 yrs
Still would have like to see alternative history where the 95 96 cards would have had Jason Osborne, Sanders, Eric Johnson and Samaria for the whole year. Granted the 96 cats were fantastic but that team lost to Wake Forest by a bucket.
1:07:32, ball game.
Triple Double.

Love the shorts Kentucky wore in this game.
those shorts were as hideous then as they are now....not to be trumped by the ridiculous blue jean uniforms uk wore the next year

Waltah!!!!
Pitino was the enemy
He caused issues.. but he did help us to get into the big east.. dominate there.. and same in the acc.
i met denny crum 2 times
Me too. At the final 4 in New Orleans, 1982. A true gentleman.
Louisville beats UK about once every 4 years, and their wins are normally in Louisville. So this one was no surprise.
Causes of Global Climate Change:
3. Cow farts
2. Industrial emissions
1. UK Fans constantly running their mouths
