Me does one line wrong “ok that’s enough for today”
one bar is enough for me
lmfao
And when i repeat from the beginning, i make another mistake loll
I thought "one line" meant crack cocaine
@@KooLLooOOnNDD cocaine is a hell of a drug
why am i watching another human practice.... i should go practice myself
to get some inspiration.
Oof
yea practice your MANNERS YOUNG MAN!!!!
...just kidding, of course :P I went to your channel hoping to see you practicing there, but no... :( maybe someday? :)
@@blahuhm6782 haha thats funny beacause i'm actually thinking of making a channel about piano for fun :D soo maybe someday ;)
practice by proxy.
This video is for all the people who think all pianists are "gifted" and really don't have to put much work into their profession.
no one thinks that lol
Zachary Thomas yeah I have never heard someone say that they don’t put in work haha. To some extent I’d say they are gifted to be able to put their mind to such a task of learning every intricacy and making it perfect. I know I and many other people would never have the patience.
This is 'real' practice, man!
Yeah you can become a great performer but you need to be gifted to be able to compose unique and beautiful music.
Enea Liviu no, you can practice to write beautiful music too.
The way she looked at her fingers like they betrayed her...I felt that so hard😂😭
When

me right now while practicing Les Adieux 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Haha didn’t even notice that
Dude, sometimes I raged so hard I hit my hand with the other one.
I always find interesting how it doesn't matter if you are a professional like she is, or a intermediate student like me, or a beginner student like many people, we all struggle the same way at our repertoire, finding the flow of a passage, trying to solve a confusing part, repeating something over and over until it sounds right.
I found that as I got better, the time taken for a particular section of x difficulty decreases, but the struggle is always there. Getting the muscle memory, interpreting it, cleaning up the technique, remembering the composition. It's always an uphill struggle, and I'm glad it remains only as a hobby, because otherwise it'd suck the fun out of music.
honestly! it’s so inspiring as a young student to watch professionals or have them tell you that they also struggle because I think sometimes as a newer player it’s really easy to feel like you’re the only one that struggles that hard or repeatedly makes the same mistakes
Very true, also on other instruments
@@Ophius very true also, I think a prodigy will have that too because they are so young and can learn things better then adults. They just absorb more information then adults (By things I mean an instrument, language)
Me and my cousin used to live together and she used to practice everyday while I was studying. I always thought it was annoying to listen the same part a 1000 time. But now that she moved out I sometimes search for pianist practicing on RUclips and listen while studying, it's oddly relaxing
:((
this is actually so cool
my family just tells me to stop 🤭

I’ve bought the ticket! Looking forward to your concert!🤗
Thank you for your support! 😊
I’m broke and I can’t afford the tickets 😢
How much are the tickets I really want to hear it and I have some birthday money saved up from last year and this year
Owais The BIG chungus It’s 25 USD. I think it’s pretty affordable
jayden lo where could I get the tickets?
Seeing her get kinda frustrated and stuck on a part reassures me that the excuse "im not talented enough for this" (which i say to myself often) is not valid
I wish I had a roommate I could hear practice all day. Concerts with perfected interpretations are great but hearing the physical and mental exploration of the instrument and the music by someone else is a very human experience. You can hear the brain progressively tying together the mechanics of the hammers to the musicality of the piece with everything in between.
Louis Jacques I used to go to bed, as a teenager, listening to my older brother practicing his harp etudes and sonatas, and feel that all was right with the world.
OnDasherOnDancer That‘s so precious
I hope my neighbors agree with you as I start my DMA lol
Unfortunately when I was in college I only received complaints from neighbors about my Beethoven concertos
goodsire they are not lullabies, my friend...;)
Me who is just starting playing the piano, working on level 1 beginner books. *Cries silently.*
Same but it's so inspiring right like let me go practice now
You have to start somewhere, right? We are all growing musicians!! :)
I too am a newbie but it is reassuring to see that Tiffany works very hard, like us, to learn & play the piece. We are on very different levels but there is a common thread between us.
@@kathysaleeba3397 there's a common thread alright. it's feeling. the feeling you have for the music and that it engenders in you. it's that feeling we have in common even if you don't play at all.... :)
Make sure you have a qualified piano teacher...Don't try to do it alone!
Musicians must suffer so much, listen so attentively, and work so hard to get it right. This reminds me how classical is beautiful and sublime, how can it not make you tear up, truly indispensable
Pink panther is good piano song too
It makes me anxious, motivated and having low self-esteem at once
Ah i love that you write down what mistakes you made and what you’re thinking because that makes it so much easier to relate when you’re not a pianist!
You really encourage me to practice
She inspired you by playing your own music wow
A‐haaaaa.....
i just wish i could be friends with tiffany, she's that stylish friend who can do anything
Jesus Christ, save the simps lord
Yeah, "friends", just get a girlfriend already.
@@Yussnan84. this guy gets it
Dude entered Simp-City 🤣🤣
some people just think it would be cool to be friends with someone, nothing implied at all!
That model b is the crispiest I’ve heard on RUclips.... a dreammm
skipz I don't think it's the piano. It's the pianist.
@@davidw6936 it's both.
@@georgel2201 Agree. The best pianist can only do so much on a bad piano, and the best Steinway won't sound nice under the hands of a bad pianist.
Andres Gunther that’s so true
@@andresgunther Yeah applies to any instrument or art really. But I'm sure if you had a decent piano that was tuned a player like Tiffany could still sound amazing.
Can we all appreciate how much Tiffany is working towards such amazing initiatives? It's rare to link classical music and charity, but its Tiffany, so what else shall we expect!
*does scales at hyper speed*
Me: wait that was just a warmup 😳
I love this so much; working through the difficult phrases, voicing the outer notes first before the inside ones, closing the eyes etc. It shows all the hard work that goes into learning a piece.
I'm not a pianist, butI play the flute, and the way she does certain parts over and over to get her fingers to behave is so similar to how I work out difficult sections on the flute that I just had to point it out.
Muscle memory....we pianist have to woodshed those specific measures over and over. The rest is all easy
Best as always
Why are you following me.
Ur Channels dead
Why are you literally subscribed to everyone I'm subscribed 😳
Wait, when was the last time I saw your comment? I keep seeing them everywhere I watch.
Most concert goers get to see concert pianists perform at their best, but rarely do they get to see them practice in their homes. How lucky we are to see Tiffany practice Chopin like the virtuoso that she is.
This young pianist is elegance and class personified. I love her delicate and agile playing so much! I bought a ticket for her concert of course.
Watching these practice videos gives you an even deeper appreciation of the time, effort, and skill of professional musicians.
When the alarm rang: "15 minutes is up!", I was like.. that was only 15 minutes? I was so immersed in your thought process It felt like I "woke up" when this video ended. (This piece is among the many that I've discovered through you! I really love the melody from la ci darem, it has some cute and playful character to it imo, although it is the duet between Don Giovanni and Zerlani)
Good luck with the Dreanstage livestream concert!!
Yep, same happened to me (the 15 minutes, I mean). I didn't know that piece either until Tiff sight-read it for us. Early Chopin is tricky because he made more emphasis on virtuosity playing and technical challenges than in later works, although his sonatas are pretty challenging.
I love how the little captions during the first run are mostly critiques like gaps or missing notes but one is just “bad”
You've inspired me to practice more, I've started to enjoy playing so much more since watching your stuff!! Thank you, I cannot thank you enough for helping me enjoy this instrument again!
I so do appreciate the down to earth nature of these videos. Seeing your mistakes and the real work it takes to get to your level instead of just the polished product makes me feel better about my practice not being perfect. Cuz it's not supposed to be! Thanks Tiffany.
Watching her piano practice gives me so much joy. Thanks for posting.
Wonderful, Wonderful, fantastic, magical musician and supreme pianist .......GREAT MAGISTER!
i need to practise more.
Tiffany, I just listened again to the Chopin concerto performance you gave at the Moscow competition from back in the days. That was so beautiful. Keep it up! Looking forward to your upcoming concert.
For those tuning into this video after August 29th live stream, please consider joining my 2nd live stream concert on Dreamstage on December 5th, 11am EST! Will be playing Mozart Concertos 😊 dreamstage.live/event/2020-12-05-tiffany-poon
I love to see you practicing. It pushes me, a beginner, to continue. Thanks a lot! Keep posting, Tiffany!
The pursuit of elegance and excellence. Thanks for sharing these videos. It is a privilege to be allowed behind the scenes, to understand better the process that delivers the worlds great pianists ❤️
It’s super cool to watch these videos, then watch a concert. Thank you for sharing your process!
I love how she adds the little text down there cus we’d be so confused
I love this, really shows what it’s like at this level, and how to practise
Thanks, Tiffany for showing me how dedicated you are to your craft. It is very inspiring.
i love the thought boxes you add in!
Thank you Tiffany for your generosity. ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this! It’s great to see how much deliberate practice goes into a seemingly ‘effortless’ live performance.
I love seeing you practice and perfect yourself! It’s easy to forget that brilliant pianists practice a lot to play with ease! Thank you for the video!
Me too! Even your practicing is wonderful to listen to. Don't be so hard on yourself as you appear to be. You're wonderful.
This just shows that no matter how much talent and passion you have for an instrument, you have to put in the work. Consistently.
This is one of the most beautiful pieces I've ever heard
Your touch and dynamics are incredible🥺 Good luck for the concert!!
And to think July 23rd you were sight reading through this piece! I'm so proud of the amazing progress you've made, it's sounding just magical.👌
Thanks, your playing and the line of thinking are just wonderful to watch
It's fascinating to watch what you're doing along with what you're thinking. Thanks!
"Hats off this is the work of a genius", Schumann said
Video was recommended to me, but RUclips did not fail me this time. Her humor, talent, and quirky personality has drawn me, so I will definitely be buying a ticket !
Raw practice footage like this is literally so relaxing and inspiring I’ve never seen this style video before I love it 👌🏼
Seeing your patience while practicing, is very encouraging! 😍 Thank you Tiffany 💝
Looking forward to further vlogs 😁
This makes me want to practice again. Thank you!
Your channel is so creative and unique! I haven’t thought about making practice strategies like you. It’s inspiring for all classical musicians. I hope you have a wonderful concert!!!
this is one of my favourite pieces and it's really nice to hear someone practicing like this because it makes me feel better about how my playing and practice sounds too 💖
I love watching how disciplined you are when practicing
Watching others practice is oddly satisfying and inspiring. Thanks for sharing.
Oh this is such a helpful thing to witness! thanks for sharing
I've already watched this once but now I'm coming back again just to hear you play :)) I adore your passion and your attention to detail in pursuit of saying everything you want to say. Thank you!
Aww I can't believe you'd watch my practice twice - even I didn't watch this entire vlog after editing 😅❤️
I've only recently discovered you on RUclips. I think you're amazing at piano and as a person, from what I've seen so far. I bought a ticket to your recital. I'm super excited to watch you perform!
It's really soothing to see you practice, I admire you a lot!!!
We need this kinda of videos for our soul
Hello, Tiffany! I have been subscribing to you for a long time. I really enjoy the amazing music you make. Good luck on your concert!
Very proud of you Tiffany!
I can't wait for the concert! You play very well Tifanny, keep up the good work!❤
I like the way you practice and give me inspiration ❤️
You are so on point. You are so beautiful. Thank God! You are so amazing.
Honestly seeing people who mess up or or practicing give me inspiration to know that we are the same
It's funny with her. While practicing she seems to constantly "struggle", but then come performance time, and BAM, she nails it like she has never played a wrong note.
that's why everyone needs to practice don't you think
professionals don't often show their struggles, but I'd say 99.9% of them don't get their without a TON of work like this
That's why I love Tiffany's video. Other pianists tend to package themselves as some pure prodigies, while Tiffany is always willing to show her real progress.
Have you heard of practise
This type of videos are perfect for studying.
These kind of vlogs are awesome! Good luck for your concert!
I love your interpretations of Chopin's music.. You made my imagination time travel to Chopin's time🙂
I've never enjoyed listening to somebody else practicing this much :3 like how does it sound so goodd
Appreciate the work you put into these!
I have been showing your video to all of my piano students. I love how you write your thoughts for us to know your thought as you play.
I am so glad I found this video! It motives me so much since I have just started playing the piano again after a year away for uni and I am a bit rusty. Thank you!!
This is so fascinating and valuable as a beginner. Thank you!
Lots of love Tiffany, love seeing your videos ❤
I love when you play Chopin Tiffany❤️❤️❤️
I love this so much. It’s so interesting seeing your thought process!
always a nice feeling to see that Tiffany uploaded :)
oddly inspiring to watch someone who's been playing for so long to make the same sort of practice mistakes I do when I practice. even if hers sounds so much nicer
My ears were blessed, thank you👂🏾😩
How do your hands make such smooth movements!?😭
I guess that she has been playing and practicing like a lot of years
Relax ur wrist
@@syadoga ..and float your hands like a magic carpet ride over the larger distances. (Avoid the robotic-welding-arm)
Learning how to pass your thumb under your hand without twisting your wrist is critical and to do this properly you'll need to learn a special arm/wrist/hand technique. Notice how Tiffany 'leads with her elbow' as her right-hand moves upward. This is called, 'Floating Elbow' technique. I think it's better described as a 'swooping elbow' where the elbow swoops up and over, pulling the forearm and the hand along with it. You have to use your biceps to do this. Using your biceps allows the strong muscles to pull the weight of the forearm and the hand. This is what I call, 'Magic Carpet Ride' where the fingers are not trying to pull the weight of the hand and forearm; the fingers are simply 'along for the ride' freeing them from any heavy lifting. This gives the fingers complete and untethered freedom to strike the keys in the required location. So, the very smooth movements you observed are the result of passing the thumb under the hand without twisting the wrist and getting the fingers into their proper position by activating Floating Elbow technique.
So nice! Thanks for sharing your practice. The pleasure is twofold: we get to see your process and for the piano students out there we learn some technique with with you, watch your finger, posture, etc.
Your practice techniques are quite interesting. I'm not a pro but that really inspires me to keep getting better:) Thanks💙
wow im early but thank you so much for giving us a raw video of your practice tiffany! it really mens so much to me
That Steinway sounds magical!
Watching these hands move. I cant imagine the time, practice and dedication it took
And I was feeling proud when playing The Scientist by Coldplay following a RUclips tutorial
Keep feeling proud! Shes been doing this for many many years almost non-stop don’t compare yourself. Be proud of yourself ^^
Same stuff happened when playing prelude in C major without mistakes for the first time. Quite happy with it however small of an achievement.
it is always a pleasure to see you developing further and further - even on the very high level you are already on. very nice video. i hope for better times and a concert in germany one day to see you again live performing
what a pleasant surprise to my morning 😃 good luck with the concert tiffany !
When I saw Chopin I quit all my program and came here
I love that she presses the keys so easily - from someone who doesn't play!!
Can't wait until you play Chopin's 3rd Sonata
This is motivating. Thank you very much for posting. Now I can feel more inspired in my practice sessions and not to give up so easily.
Yes Tiffany yes🥺
Keep striving ..u are my inspiration 🎶
Watching your videos motivates me to keep practicing, greetings from México, you are awesome.
