  • I show you how to prevent shirts from shrinking in the wash and how to stop shirts from shrinking in the dryer.
    I am a fairly tall guy at 6'4" and have a fairly tall torso. All my life, I have suffered from shirts shrinking shortly after buying them. I buy a shirt, it fits great, I wear it, then try and wash it....and IT SHRINKS! I have had to throw out many shirts over the years due to shrinking problems.
    In this video, I show you my method for dealing with shrinking clothing and the best remedy I have found to eliminate it. I go over why do shirts shrink when you wash them.
    I hope you find this video helpful. Please consider giving this video a like, comment and feel free to subscribe for more useful tips!

    Thank you so much for this. I’m a junior in high school and my clothes shrink so fast and so much ever since I started using the washing machine. Im 250 pounds and around 6’1-6’2 so I really notice it when my clothes shrink and it’s the worst because I love wearing t shirts and some of my favorites have shrunken so much. I’m still gonna use the drier though but hopefully using these settings and using low temperature on the drier helps.

    I am never going to hang my shirts indoor. I hate how stiff they get compared to the dryer. I'm also not going to wash them on cold(i always find it weird that in america you don't have the actual temperature in the temperature options) since warmer water will help to clean the fabric better. I just accept that my shirts are going to shrink and buy them one size too big and then it all works out. They typically don't keep shrinking wash after wash. Just the first couple of times.

  • @stevensims3342

    Tried washing some brand new heavy weight tees. The machine wash was fine and spin is ample but the drying is what further shrinks the shirt. Almost have to tumble dry which takes quite a while. Tried on lowest setting available (dryer) and still see some shrinkage. Even a small amount at the neck and seams, front pocket really changes how the shirt looks.

  • @ShinyBull3t

    I use to wash my cloths at my house and hang dry them but my machine doesn’t work anymore. Like the stains and dirt won’t come off my cloths. So then I started to wash my cloths at the laundry mat, yesterday I wash 4 loads of cloths and all of my settings were low and but I didn’t know anything about the delicate setting. But anyhow very few of my shirts shrinked a little but most of my favorite shirts didn’t after I put them in the air dryer with the lowest setting for 30 minutes. I also don’t want to put my cloths outside to dry because some of my shirts gets faded and looks over used…. So next time I wash my cloths I think ima put delicate cold and then put them in the air dryer for 10 - 15 mins see how that works . I’m also 6 feet too and had a big torso and I’m size L . When my gf washed my cloths at her house, she gave me back my favorite shirt and it became Size M now I’m thinking ima have to start buying XL

    • @JMGENTERPRISES
      @JMGENTERPRISES  2 года назад

      I would think low settings for 30 minutes then air drying them is the way to go. If you live in a sunny and warm climate, you can always put them outside in the shade and I am sure they will try quick. I live in Seattle, WA where it is cold and rainy most of the year, so I have to hang dry them inside my house.

    I hate when clothes shrink, i just feel uncomfortable on them. I also wash them on cold and on low. What i do then is that when i take them out of the washing machine as they are still wet i give them some form by pulling a little bit on the sides and on the large and then hung them outside. And even after all that it still shrinks, its crazy. Maybe it depends on the material of the shirt? If someone knows some material that doesn’t shrink please tell me, mi shirts are usually from H&M and Zara.
