All series have a natural ending and this was The Mentalist's cast/writers way of leaving on a high note that thanked fans in a way that TV rarely does. Most shows overstay their welcome and often have a ragged ending or none at all because their cancelled off season leaving the audience in limbo The Mentalist didn't.
Well said. Absolute brilliant scene! The show gave us a fulfilling conclusion for our main and side characters. Cho taking over for Abbott as supervisory Agent, a fitting rise for him. We all knew when he took over for Lisbon as team leader in a few episodes that he was great for the job. Wylie still trying to get over Vega's death and Cho asking him to stay, giving him a place where he belongs. Seeing him smiling and dancing (something he started with Vega) means so much more. Abbott (my personal favorite S7/6 character) moving to DC to be with his wife as she rises in her career as well as him settling the Rio Grand business. Rigsby and Van Pelt continuing their Cyber Security business together. Finally, Jane and Lisbon. Jane getting a second shot at being a husband and father after the pain of going through such traumatic loss. As he states, in S7 Ep 1 (I think) its the first time in a long time he's happy, and to follow it up with Lisbon being pregnant is just icing on top of the cake. Yeah well, I just completed watching castle, and i can say how important a series finale is.......... Mentalist was, is, and will always remain one of the best tv series ever.
I always had an issue with that scene. For 5 and a half seasons none of the team members ever said anything about the obvious chemistry between them unlike Bosco or some other extras, but Rigsby now says that he and Grace always figured this in the season they finally get together. It felt as if that was the writers saying they're going to have Jane and Lisbon get together in a not so organic way. Compare that to Castle, where you would hear Lanie, Javie, Ryan, and Montgomery all make clear they see what Kate and Castle can't in their own ways. It felt as if they were speaking for the fans.
@@ahsokarules2369 if you rewatch scenes with the old team, you'll pick up on small moments of side glances and such from Rigsby and Van Pelt when watching Lisbon and Jane. They were usually preoccupied with their own relationship, but I think they respected Lisbon and Jane's connection and knew better than to broach it. Lisbon would have probably rebuffed the idea hard, and Jane might have retaliated if they'd tried to analyze his feelings or tease him. They knew to keep their mouths shut. The ones who brought it up were people who Jane and Lisbon had no authority over, like Bosco, Lorelei, and Barlow. Rigsby mentioned it finally when he didn't work under either of them anymore.

Its such a Perfect ending😍. And the joy and hugs and dancing seem like it was also the good buy party of the film-crew.🤣 So happy that also Amanda and Owain were there. Probably everyone was cheering so much when they kissed because it was the first kiss in front of the other actors. Happy too that Lisbon is pregnant- the relationship always seemed quite platonic and displayed no big physical attraction.
And Patrick got to start a new life and family. Free of the beast who haunted his whole reason to go on in life, but it’s over and he can finally be happy.
Finished the series a couple of weeks ago and miss it like crazy. Have never loved a series as much, not even Game of Thrones which I absolutely was obsessed with. Such a wonderful ending to Jane and Lisbon’s story. The producers and writers did us fans proud.
I have had a crush on Simon Baker since I first started watching the mentalist like 6-7 years ago. I’ve rewatched the mentalist 3 times and still get excited to see him. Watching his character, Jane and Lisbon get married and seeing how happy and excited he was and for her to announce she was pregnant, I just…Ah! I love it so much and I stim happiness. When she announced she was pregnant first time I watched it I screamed and clapped my hands like a circus seal 🤣❤️

This ending was very emotional, going to miss the og team and its great to see rigsby and van pelt in the end. Just shows they have come a long way. As much as I wanted a season 8, its good that they didnt and to keep fans satisfied and emotional. I know its been like 6 years now since they wrapped up the show, hope to see some cast reunions in the future though. Just damn patrick jane was amazing. Im very happy they kept red john a mystery for 6 seasons. Thank god it's not like other shows where they find the bad guy really fast and then a new person like steps into power every season.
All actors casting is perfect and All actors have done their job very well. One of my favorite series. Patrick Jane was just awesome!!! Good wishes to producer , Actors & crew members.
Reading the comment section just tells me that all of us feels the same way ..... satisfaction at its fullest with the happiness for Jane and lisbon...😍😍😍
With shows there's always that one thing I dislike or wish had happened differently. The mentalist though? Wouldn't change a thing. At the end it came full circle. Beloved characters came back for the end and Patrick got his second chance at a family back with Lisbon.
The best ending is achieved like this! The writers really listened to their audience and made sucha great happy ending of a great show! It was sad that it ended but what perfect way to end to do a full circle for the main characters!
This is only the third show that I have watched that has given fans a perfect, wrapped up series finale. I wish other shows were able to do the same thing. I get that sometimes shows don't know that they are being cancelled which leads to unsatisfactory endings, but even shows that do know they are ending often times drop the ball in a huge way. I'm glad that The Mentalist ended in the way it did
You see so many people pine for a shock ending, or a tragedy. That's the cheap way of scoring emotional points, but only for a few seconds. There'd be no point in revisiting the series, like we do this one.
I've never seen a tv show with a more respectfull ending for the fans. It was everything we wanted... Just perfect!

The trick is not to go for tricks that render the series meaningless. Let the characters grow, follow them to their logical conclusions.
You must have not paid attention. ruclips.net/p/PLhuZVO_KzUD9EQzmp9GCPFIwa1F1wq3_S
I reallyyyyy wish there were more shows like this with such happy and heartwarming endings :((
That feeling when you finish an awesome show and don't know what to do with your life anymore...
I'm pretty sure the only other time he wears tie are flashbacks of him being a psychic....
Life is full of second chances.
This show was the best ever..I loved it so much...
Perfect happy ending for this show. Kind of compel you to keep coming back to it.
CHO was the first to be greeted by Jane after the ceremony - true friendship there.
Watching the mentalist just makes me so satisfied with happiness ...it's soo good a series...
The life of Patrick Jane and all the other characters and story well scripted brilliantly,
He geting the second chance in his life with a wife and child makes me smile to my fullest...
The best😍😍
at last the best ending ever😁
a better ending than my life will have .. good for him! loved the series!
Janes smile at the end just wow
I love them I love them I love them. They’re so happy and they’re finally safe and sound, where they belong, with each other. :)))))))))))))
Literally guys...You don't know how deeply i am connected to the show! I always thought I would never get married or have children. But Jisbon connection just teaches you marriage can transform your life in a good way. Genuine connections do happen!
Satisfied with the ending!! It was a long journey! I would recommend this series to everyone!
You know, what is the song that plays at their wedding?

@Ace Empress same here! Watching this show has been a healing experience for me.
What a lovely and fitting end to the show. It was graet that the program got to end on such a natural and beautiful high. Definitely one of my favourite programs ever. Simon Baker is just so gorgeous he always played Patrick Jane so well. A dreamboat with a happy ending.💖
Okay we need a mentalist movie now
I juat saw the title and i screamed YES! In the midle of the night and woke everyone up. Totally worth it
This was truly the best finale ever! I want a reunion so we can know their child 💕
I waited so long for this Happy Ever After!
I waited 7 Seasons for this.😉💕
For all this show, all the moments, I really thought it was impossible... 😮
Cho smiling
This ending was very emotional, going to miss the og team and its great to see rigsby and van pelt in the end. Just shows they have come a long way. As much as I wanted a season 8, its good that they didnt and to keep fans satisfied and emotional. I know its been like 6 years now since they wrapped up the show, hope to see some cast reunions in the future though. Just damn patrick jane was amazing. Im very happy they kept red john a mystery for 6 seasons. Thank god it's not like other shows where they find the bad guy really fast and then a new person like steps into power every season.
A happy ending which hurts...🥺
Thank you Mentalist...❤️
Such a fantastic ending ! Miss this show ! Now back to my reality of misery ...
Wow 😯 what would you not give up to see that smile on ur man’s face. Sooo touching
One of my all-time favorite endings to a TV series.

Thanks 👍
With shows there's always that one thing I dislike or wish had happened differently. The mentalist though? Wouldn't change a thing. At the end it came full circle. Beloved characters came back for the end and Patrick got his second chance at a family back with Lisbon.
Thank you for posting this. My cable went out during part of this scene, and I was NOT HAPPY! The last season comes out on DVD next month.
She look's so pretty, he handsome as always
I just finished this show. how do I go on with my life 😩
hii. I watched this drama in a week. Finally it was over yesterday. So,I miss them very much
Do what I did and immediately find someone to binge watch it with you a second time.
The way Kimball is smiling is just infectious
Rewatched this after 10 years. Damn. Its so good
Just Completed all episodes in 5 days and now here to read comments. It's beautiful.
Best TV show ending ever i watched
Awww love it! Patrick's such a sweetie
Gets me every time. Perfect ending to a great beginning.
This show literally warms my heart..he had to have found love again!!! He deserves it..i will watch reruns till am tired!!
They should make a movie about what happens next. Like how is that child? How is EVERYONE??? Bruno Heller BETTER get to work!
I wonder if Jane and Lisbon will still work together and if Jane would speak to his child about his past, so many unanswered questions..
Throwing flower petals was perfect.
