    Is there any real disadvantage to playing 9 ball with snooker cue? Do they have to put any more effort into moving the cue ball around than people using a regular pool cue?

    • @indak7177
      @indak7177 2 года назад +2

      Have to hit the balls a bit harder and be more precise with where you hit the ball (smaller tip with a bigger cue ball) there's as reason snooker players like Steve Davis switched to pool cues the more they played American pool

    • @lautarobertogna
      @lautarobertogna Год назад +1

      You also have the deflection, with a small tip the ball will do a curve and won't hit when you want it to hit, and it takes a lot of practice learning how to balance the deflection and the hit, the easy way could be a carbon fiber cue, that won't deflect at all or just a little bit

    • @seanscanlon9067
      @seanscanlon9067 3 года назад

      I'm not convinced he was trying to pot it and think he was just trying to run the yellow one ball into the pink four ball and leave it roughly where the pink was, with his main focus being to get the cue ball behind the blue two ball and the other balls in between.
      If you look at the margin of error he had in order to miss the pink four ball if he was going for the pot then it was next to nothing, and he probably had just as much chance of playing the yellow one ball into the pink four ball to pot that one instead, while still getting behind the blue two ball.

      Snooker is focused on the perfect cue ball control and long distance pots, so when the table size decreases from 12ft to 9ft, it’s easier to operate there for a snooker player.
      Pool players, they got used to the smaller table distances, aiming, pot sizes and non such a strategy or perfect technique is required there.
