When Mark Williams, John Higgins and Ronnie O'Sullivan are no longer playing, that will be a sad day for the sport. They all turned pro in 1992. O'Sullivan needs only 3 more titles to tie Stephen Hendry's record of 36, and 52 more centuries for 1000 in his career, while John Higgins could still surpass Hendry in titles and centuries, he won't catch O'Sullivan. Meanwhile, Mark Williams looks like he's having so much fun when he plays. What great players!

Thanks for the upload. This epitomises what was so great about this year's championship. I started watching it from the second round and straight away I could see that Williams was in phenomenal form. It was a weird kind of form, because he did miss a hell of a lot of easy/medium shots (especially in the semi-final against Hawkins) which normally would dump a player out of a big competition. These were lapses of concentration I guess. However, Williams never let it affect him, and he just kept knocking in outrageous shots. That's what won him the championship. So entertaining to watch. I want to see a final set up between Williams and that other great player of the class of '92 - O'Sullivan. I hope Williams keeps this form. If he can just address those lapses in concentration he could be unbeatable.
Nobody sees the crazy shots that Mark can see, let alone take them on and then make them. A real genius on a snooker table. Maximum entertainment value.
That plant at the right mid pocket was just pure insanity. Only a genius can conceive such an outrageous shot and manage to pull it off. Well played sir. Truly deserved the win this year.
I love Mark Williams, he seems such a great guy with a brilliant sense of humour. People don't seem to talk about him often but I don't know why because he is an amazing snooker player too, actually, he is a secret snooker magician, wow, some of the plants he plays and pots nobody else could do, not even Ronnie could play a lot of the shots you saw. Judging by these shots alone, anyone can safely say that Mark Williams was at a Zen-state of Mind at the Crucible, and by converting so many almost-impossible shots the (blindly!) way he did just confirms it! You should edit the Title: those were not 'crazy' at all - those were indeed 'Magical' or even 'Sublime' moments. I mean, look at that shot at 8:38 mark (pun!); that was simply un-be-lie-va-ble! If I were told that a snooker player once, on the losing side of a 13-11 match during the World Snooker Championship Semi-finals, was attempting to make a Red ball play the Cue's job and goes poting another Red via a one-cushion bounce to hit the other Red at a reverse angle, just so the Cue stays at the Black to win the frame, I'd think that guy urgently needed to undergo some mental scrutiny, asap - but that was verbatim what Mark Williams did!!! A clear & logical vision, mathematical imagination and sheer creativity presented all at once to perform an unheard & unseen of shot, ever! Reds, and the swerves, the 'impossible' angles, the decisive long-shots, some of them closing his eyes before the shot, etc., and with it all added up, we would simply conclude that he was touched by some special enchanting Angel, and was walking on clouds to win this year WCS handed to him by Destiny itself, nonetheless. I don't think it was ever a player playing like that, in all WSC History. Words can't describe it, and 'Luck' can't explain it, either. He surely deserved it. Nobody gives Snooker a more pleasant and lighter mood, everytime, than Mark Williams. He always brings Snooker back to that friendly, relaxing at-the-club-with-dear-friends atmosphere it always had, before big money, Media and sponsorship obligations took some of its grace to replace it with a stiff seriousness. My utmost love, respect and cheers to Mark Williams & all his Family, specially to Ms. Joanne Williams, who is such a blessing in his life that he should thank Life and Destiny for, everyday. i tried that yesterday ona pool table ,made one simpe shot with eyes closed,the discipline of this guy is astonishing n shows us oldies cn still do stuff
Hawkins and Higgins IMO played better throughout the tournament but nobody could match his potting ability and his under pressure play. He was playing like he didnt have a nervous system. What a great tournament and what a win for Williams.
That plant off the baulk cushion onto the red in the middle pocket may genuinely have been the most incredible shot I've ever seen in snooker, and I've been watching since the mid 80s... :o
When I was a youngster, I liked John Pulman. Brilliant, took the game seriously on the table. But, had a light side. Then, it was Alex Higgins, Jimmy White, Kirk Stevens. But, for pure imagination in shot-making, Mark Williams is the king, closely followed by Mark Selby.
Mark is my hero. He makes the game look so much fun. That shot at 8:33 is unbelievable I just bought a small practice table at the age of 30 and can't wait to join my local clubs.
