Trivia facts: Brewster's Millions was originally a 1902 novel written by George Barr McCutcheon where a man named Montgomery 'Monty' Brewster has to spend $1 million in one year to inherit millions more. There were a series of films about it which as follows:
Brewster's Millions (1914) Based on the play of the same name where Brewster (Edward Abeles) has to spend $1 million in one year or less in order to inherit $7 million (considered a lost film)
Brewster's Millions (1921) Brewster (Roscoe Arbuckle) has to spend $1 million in six months to inherit $4 million (lost film)
Miss Brewster's Millions (1926) Polly Brewster (Bebe Daniels) has to spend $1 million in 30 days or less to inherit $5 million (lost film)
Brewster's Millions (1935) British version where Jack Brewster (Jack Buchanan) has to spend 500,000 pounds sterling in six months to inherit six million pounds.
Brewster's Millions (1945) Monty Brewster (Dennis O'Keefe) has to spend $1 million in 60 days or less to inherit $7 million.
Brewster's Millions (1985) Monty Brewster (Richard Pryor) has to spend $30 million in 30 days to inherit $300 million.
    Bollywood versions:
Maalamaal (1988) This Hindi-language version was released in India in 1988. The plot remains the same - spend 30 million Indian rupees in 30 days or less to earn 300 million rupees. It is an obvious scene-by-scene "Indianization" of the 1985 Richard Pryor film with some additional scenes and a few musical production numbers.
Arunachalam (1997) An Indian Tamil-language film based also on the Brewster story, with significant differences from earlier versions, particularly in the first half. Many plotlines are interwoven, but the basic concept, spending 300 million rupees in 30 days to inherit 30 billion rupees, remains the same.

"Marilyn? I could die in this room."
Fun Fact: Princess Anne visited the set during filming as part of her U.S. tour.
Lost In Adaptation Fact: This is the seventh movie adaptation of George Barr McCutcheon's 1902 novel. In earlier adaptations, the hero was required to spend only a million dollars.
Historical Fact: In a few scenes, a train passes through the outfield of the stadium where the Bulls play. In the 1930s and 1940s, that was a common occurrence at ball parks used by teams in the Texas leagues.
Political Science Fact: Brewster's (Richard Pryor) political party "None Of The Above" (NOTA) is used in jurisdictions or organizations to give a voter who opposes all choices on a ballot a chance to indicate their disapproval. The underlying principle is that legitimate consent requires the ability to withhold consent, and allowing voters to withhold their consent in an election to office is just like voting no on ballot questions.

@@Inquiringmind0 The big issue with that is the rule that you must get value for money. For instance he could hire the security guard because he's getting value in him being the head of security and the others value in they are protecting thirty million dollars. However hiring Jane to spend three million doesn't actually get you value for money. Not to mention the more you spread the spending out (if you can) the more odds one of them spends it on something that's an asset or does like his friend did and hides it away to help him. Assuming of course you don't have corrupt lawyers trying to make you fail as well.

@@liamwarner5749 Yes, but couldn't you say that the people you are hiring are like a financial advisor? You are hiring people to find things that you want to spend your money on. It would be the equivalent of hiring a car broker to find you a vintage car, or an art dealer helping you find some great paintings. Only here, it would be experiences. The people's job would be to find experiences for you to spend money on.
For example, if I was to take on this kind of challenge today, I would go spend the money on going to space. I think there was a billionaire, might have even been Jeff Bezos, who paid millions of dollars just to go up in space for like a day. I would just pay to go like 10 times in two weeks, and the money would be gone. This is the kind of experience I would hire the people to find for me if it was the early 80's - the equivalent of going to space.

Great reaction guys! You should react to the buddy/cop movie that started it all: "48 Hours" (1982) with Nick Nolte and an absolutely hilarious Eddie Murphy in his film debut.

What was AMAZING about Richard Pryor is that he was not a trained actor, he started out as a stand-up comedian and got a lucky break to star in a movie that led to more movies, yet he proved to be a great actor.

I’d rent a venue and book every singer I like to give private concerts for me and people I love. That would burn through the $30 million super fast. And no assets! Fun reaction! I enjoy your content a lot.

This was a fun one guys, haha shoot. Car Wash, Bustin' Loose, Stir Crazy, See No Evil Hear No Evil, Superman III, Silver Streak, Greased Lightning, Blue Collar, The Wiz, Some Kind Of Hero, The Toy, Harlem Nights, Jo Jo Dancer Your Life Is Calling are other Richard Pryor films. CalixYukon good pick man. Nice reaction. Sorry I missed the drop. RIP Jerry Orbach from Dirty Dancing, Toy Soldiers, and the original Law & Order as Detective Lennie Brisco. Enjoy the movie suggestions :D The judge in this movie is Rosetta LeNoire who played Estelle Winslow in Family Matters. Marilyn is Tovah Felshuh from Law & Order as Defense Attorney Danielle Melnick. Ok, I'll stop showing off lol. Warren is from the show 7th Heaven. For John Candy, I suggest Cool Runnings.

A brilliant 80s comedy. A clever concept showing how hard it was to actually spend the money. Richard Pryor always great fun, and great support from John Candy who was in so many 80s comedies and sadly died so young back in 1994.

Hi Asia & BJ, the actor portraying George Granville was David White. Who also portrayed Larry Tate the Advertising executive & Boss of Samantha`s husband, in the `60`s (Bewitched) Tv Series. Another character he portrayed was J.J. Jameson, in the original (The Amazing Spiderman) Tv Series from the `70`s.

Warren is played by the guy who played the dad on the TV show "7th Heaven".
The white-haired lawyer who tried to rip-off Brewster played Mr. Tate, the boss of the husband of Samantha Stevens, in the old TV show "Bewitched".
The whole movie has lots of notable actors in it.
