Hey Josh, I feel like you need to put a disclaimer in here for folks watching you use the C6 APP polish. The reason to go with the shorter throw is because the longer throw generates enough heat to set the SiO2 in the APP polish, which will actually work against the coating. Especially if you're going to be doing coating tests, you don't want the app to have interfered with its ability to stand up over time.

Sort of off topic but I use the Vevor Dual Action Josh reviewed earlier this year off Amazon for I think $65 shipped and I think it’s great. I am not a professional and can’t speak on longevity.

Thanks for trying C6 Ceramics Adhesion Promoter Polish (APP). As noted using more than a 9mm machine will reduce both the effectiveness of the C6 Ceramics Adhesion Promoter Polish (APP), and the durability of the coating.

Is that due to the smaller throw being more effective at swelling the paint to open the pores?

Love the comparison 👍 Although not marketed as a budget DA, I'd love to see how the DIY Detail dual action polisher compares since it's not far off in price but is supposed to be very high quality and lots of cut.

$200+ and add in shipping of $15+ is a budget polisher. If you are a pro then you already already know what to use, and if you are a homeowner, just buy the Bauer long throw for $80 or the Hercules forced rotation for $119 from Harbor Freight.

This! I recently decided it was time to learn how to do this kind of work for myself, but wanted to try it on a budget to see if I was comfortable with the process. I have watched Josh for about a year now (as well as other RUclips detailers), paying close attention to products used and techniques, and I finally had a vehicle (crappy little Nissan Versa 5 speed I bought for my son) that is a great canvas to start experimenting with detailing, paint correction and touch up, etc. I went the Harbor Freight route and got the Hercules, as well as a bunch of Meguiars products. Honestly, there isn't much of a learning curve, so long as you follow the rules. Wash well, remove any additional tar/bugs, clay bar, cut, polish, seal or wax ( I prefer wax... it's cheap, quick, and looks great). After doing three of my cars over as many weekends, I really enjoy the detailing process. It's like therapy... get a beer or a glass of whiskey and enjoy the results. The one comment I would make about the Hercules that I just don't see mentioned often is that mine gets pretty hot, and it will retain that heat long after I have let it rest. Of course, it's 120 degrees in my garage in Phoenix, but that polisher get's really hot.

I guess this is the entry level for if you run a car detailing business. Then, 200 bucks, sure, cheap as chips.
For me (the average joe) doing my own car a few times a year, i'm totally with you, 200+ is not a "budget option".

Good comparison! The vibration from the Maxshine was really apparent during the sound test. The LE machines are a great option for beginners or for cost-conscious pros, I'm looking forward to the V2 version and the cordless machines that they are working on. Matt from OG gets a bad rap for only liking expensive things, but I think his appreciation of the LE polishers is proof that isn't always the case.
Nothing against Eddie, but I think he might've been a little biased and was kind of comparing apples and oranges with regard to stalling. The ShineMate is designed to automatically increase machine speed to reduce/prevent pad stall, whereas the LE is designed like every other free spinning DA on the market which requires you to manually adjust the speed or optimize your technique to maintain rotation. Both are great machines, so take your pick and just understand your tool and how to use it safely/effectively.

    • @WillieBeamin-t4v

Og gets a bad rap because of his ego and him thinking that because he has the money to buy something it makes him an “expert” when in reality he could be considered a serious diy’er. He bends the truth about his health condition and basically lies about it in order to fool people like you and his viewers into thinking it is why he is able to “obsess” over products and provide information that others aren’t able to. Don’t get me wrong, he’s done an amazing job at getting you to give him money but anybody who is able to take their face out of his rear end and look at the things he has said vs what he is actually able to do could see some of his bs. Just take a look at his early videos and things like his technique or products/processes he uses and you could see the guy barely knows what he’s doing. On top of that he claims that he is an original and never follows what other do while forgetting how he mimicked esoterics paint correction process and tried to pass it off as if he had been doing the same thing already or that he had already been using the exact same products like jescar and perfect finish while his videos prior to attending their training shows otherwise. Overall, the guy is a clown. He’s in no position to think he can tell others something is trash or garbage while never even trying it. He is terrible for the detailing industry and has people who are just starting out thinking that they need to spend thousands of dollars on his recommendations or otherwise they look “janky”. I am guessing it’s part of the reason why none of the true industry leaders associate with him unless they stand to profit in some manner. Lastly, anyone who needs to tell everyone how much of an “expert” they are is truly not an expert.

Josh, when it comes to vibration in the machines, which one(s) if any do not leave your hand with a tingling sensation after using them? Which one(s) do leave your hands tingling? The long term effects of vibration our hands are subjected to result in arthritis in the joints. That's the reason for the question. Thanks!
EDIT: From an engineering standpoint, the plastic screws on the head of the Max Shine are probably in the unlikely case that a screw falls out due to vibration and damages the finish of a vehicle.

I think it’s funny how people can get upset over small things. Like, for me, rotary polishing is the only logical solution. For others, it’s not. But seeing how I’m the one performing the service … isn’t my preference the only thing that matters? DA’s stall … all of them. That shouldn’t be a factor in purchasing one. If you like DA’s, invest in one and later on you can modify it to your liking; grease, handles, lights, what ever.

    • @Reaper-Jim
      @Reaper-Jim 2 месяца назад

@@joeschmoe6908I have used dozens of different DA’s and they all stall about the same … comparing same throws, of course. It’s NOT a DA problem, it’s a skill issue. Knowing how to utilize a DA’s purpose is key in a successful polish. It’s why I prefer rotary, there’s no guess work or variations … it performs exactly the same every time no matter what.
Further, how DA’s are designed, they’re inherently flawed. Yes, even the mighty Rupes. Basically, they’re semi-controlled chaos … rotaries are smooth. Even a cheap $40 rotary is less destructive than the best DA. I have only used a few forced rotation polishers and while I find them better than DA’s, I can’t justify that opinion without really testing them more over time.
The point is, skill will always trump tool. If a DA is stalling frequently, it’s the operator causing it. Why? Because it’s in the DA design to stall.

I’d say overall it’s just a red flag for me that LE decided to associate themselves with someone like Obsessed Garbage considering his lies about having OCD (Vasovagal Syncope is not OCD) or how he profits hundreds of thousands of dollars by running an illegal lottery. Btw, for those who think I am wrong I dare yall to prove me wrong. Go watch the video he has with his therapist. She never mentions ocd while he is the only one. Also, go read the actual rules to his illegal lottery and what the us laws are for them and who is able to run a lottery. Obsessed garbages excuse is that because he has a free method of entry everything is ok but he overlooks the fact that it is illegal for orivate businesses to run a lottery. I bet a majority of those who entered probably don’t even know what the rules say as most would likely have questioned why it says “making a purchase will not increase your chances of winning” while that’s exactly what is happening. Makes sense why Matt blocks everyone who brings it up or questions him about it. Lastly. Matt, if you’re reading this I have a guess as to why you stated this recent lottery might be the last one? I am assuming you saw Mr. Beast get in trouble for running a lottery too? You might want to ask your lawyer for your money back. Ignorance is not an excuse and that coming straight from the ftc. Btw, how come you never responded back to me? You challenge me and then when I accept it’s 🦗’s from you? Shouldn’t write checks that your @ss can’t cash.
