He punched Jaskier (Joey Batey's character) in the gut just for mentioning the nickname. They had a bit of a breakdown in their friendship (it was Geralt at fault) and then Jaskier wrote this song about his feelings.

While watching season 2 i constantly felt that i was missing something. When Yennefer was told about the sandpiper, i thought meh, another new character. And then i heard his voice and damn it felt good, like everything had clicked back into place. This song is a marvel.

What i love the most about this song is the way the melody progresses: it feels like a fire burning rapidly and violently for a very brief but a hugely intense moment just to leave nothing behind at the end!

Yes he did co-write this song as well as The Golden One and Whoreson Prison Blues. Joey has a very unique style in crafting songs, that why his band The Amazing Devil are so amazing.
I've heard lots of covers already, but none of them is as good as Jaskier interpretation. He was so brokenhearted by his Witcher that "the burn" feels real. I love the song, just as much as "toss a coin". Well done, the whole crew. 💗

I can´t yet judge Liam Hemsworth, but no other actor could lead a whole emotional outrage with a single "Fuck". That one word was used sparsely and every time Geralt used it, it completely described his emotional state and thoughts to the point. I also love how the whole thing turned to a more wholesome family life for a while but the moment the stress came back they realised how they ignored each other´s worse character traits.

I really hope we have at least a few more amazing songs from Jaskier next season. I know Joey Batey won't disappoint, the music from his band The Amazing Devil is amazing, I just hope the showrunners use the necessary resources to have some more great songs written. Even if they don't fit in perfectly to the narrative I'd love to see them as bonus content or for credits songs or something.

What i love the most about this song is the way the melody progresses: it feels like a fire burning rapidly and violently for a very brief but a hugely intense moment just to leave nothing behind at the end!

I can´t yet judge Liam Hemsworth, but no other actor could lead a whole emotional outrage with a single "Fuck". That one word was used sparsely and every time Geralt used it, it completely described his emotional state and thoughts to the point. I also love how the whole thing turned to a more wholesome family life for a while but the moment the stress came back they realised how they ignored each other´s worse character traits.
Frankly I wouldn't have looked at Henry Cavill as a good Geralt but he was great. Liam Hemsworth might also do the character justice.

I know Joey Batey won't disappoint, the music from his band The Amazing Devil is amazing, I just hope the showrunners use the necessary resources to have some more great songs written. Even if they don't fit in perfectly to the narrative I'd love to see them as bonus content or for credits songs or something.

He just wants his best friend. he wants to despise and hate garelt for how he left him but he cares to much for him. Garelt clearly cares for Jaskir as well. they both care but would hate to admit it
