We bought a 2020 Palomino 2902 right after watching your videos, because of light weight, and the cost. Ours was built in July 2019 (Pre-Covid) and thinking that made a huge difference, because, we had zero issues!!! We do have the slide out, more room in the kitchen, but more weight being handled by our 2001 Ford F-250 7.3 Powerstroke!! Safe travels and love your videos.
I really enjoyed the walk around and the truths of not just your camper but it applies to all campers. Cheap materials are not always lighter presswood is heavier and denser than plywood and OSB but it’s completely useless in a damp environment but it is used because of its lack of flaws and smoothnesses. For the most part living in anything for 2 years without problems is unrealistic and for you to have this good of service out of something that is flexing, shaking, wind and rain pounding it’s held up in comparison better than some newer homes. Great job on this episode. ☮️out
That was a great summary of all the upgrades/customizations you have done over the last two years. I've watched almost all of them and I'm really impressed with the changes you have made that are perfect for your needs! Keep on truckin' Kellie and Cody. Your travels and vlogs are the very best.
We have that same camper. The first year it came out 2017. But when we picked it up on the title, it says it’s a 2018. You would really love the scissor steps. And they stay hooked on the back. Hard to believe it’s been two years.
You have to REALLY be so in-sync with the other person to co-exist in such a small space year-round! I think that's why your fans love you two! You both just compliment each other so well! Pretty soon you'll be finishing one another's sentences! 😂You're almost there! Thanks for sharing!
We went back n forth between truck camper and small class c. Didn’t want to get a bigger truck (1500 diesel Silverado), wanted a full bath. Not full timers but camp a lot. Class c, 24.5 feet won. We absolutely love it. Just got back from our first long trip, to Canada and back to Florida! What a great trip! Took my 86 year old mom. If you love what you have, it doesn’t matter the cost!
What a coincidence. I was just getting ready to ask how it was holding up and what you thought of it now. It’s on our list of possibilities but I’m back and forth on it. I love the layout and storage as you mentioned, but you’re right about it as far as how it is perceived in terms of quality. Glad you guys are enjoying it and have been able to fix or change the things you needed to or wanted to.
Kelly, we have the same type of fridge and I love it. I thaw mine out with a hair dryer. Takes maybe 15 minutes. Yours is ready girly, don't let it build up anymore than it is right now otherwise the fridge may not stay as cool as you want it to be.
First of all you guys rock, you both have really created a sweet little home together. Thank you for sharing your adventures with all of us, you are living my dream I'm a retired truck driver this is what I planned for my future but my health got bad so I don't travel as i would like too but l watch you lovely people enjoying yourselves and that is wonderful. One again Thank you for sharing please stay safe and always enjoy each other God bless...😊
Our first truck camper was a Palomino pop-up camper. It was a great camper and we had a blast in it. We are older now and eventually ended up with a Lance camper but we still miss the Palomino on hot summer nights.
HI CODY & KELLIE 👋 THANK YOU FOR WALK AROUND OF YOUR CAMPER ❤ 😊 🙏 EVEN THE BEST HAS PROBLEMS ! BE SAFE ☺️ 🙏HAVE FUN ☺️ 🙏 ENJOYED ☺️ 🙏GOD BLESS YOU BOTH ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES ☺️ 🙏THANK YOU ☺️ 🙏
You guys are so smart I have an idea I did in the winter: put your coats behind your pillow and when you git up in the morning your coat is warm from your body heat and your coat is out of the way And by the way I pray for you guys every day for your safety and happiness ❤️🙏
I really enjoyed the tour of the Palomino! With the price of homes these days I’m sure a lot of viewers have considered living in something like this! I love the fact that you don’t have to pull it behind the truck 😅 Y’all have done a great job of fixing things that aren’t working for you and it’s always spotless thanks to Kellie’s obsessive compulsive disorder with cleaning 😆 I also can’t believe it’s been 2 years!! Looking forward to many more memories of “life on the road with Cody and Kellie “!🥰👏
Hi Cody and Kellie, it was a real pleasure to meet ya'll yesterday at the Old Exchange & Provost Dungeon. Thanks for sharing so much information about Arkansas. Take care and safe travels. Tony
Looks like you could put in another shelf in your pantry! My husband was able to add extra shelf’s in all of my cupboards which really created more room
We use a Froli Sleep System under our mattress to prevent mold and mildew. I wired a 12v bus fan put it on a small swing bracket, like the tv,to blow under the mattress for about 20 min each morning to dry the condensation. Then it just stores to the side out of the way. The Froli system provides the airspace under the mattress. Plus it adds a little cushioning the the mattress.
Fair, solid review. I think every RV has its good and bad points. The following comment has nothing to do with this video but wanted to share with you that we recently did a 6+ week trip out west. On our return we went through Arkansas. We were going to blow right through it, then thought about how much you guys love the state....So we ended up spending time at Mount Magazine State Park, then thought about your beloved Ouachita State Forest or mountains, excuse if I misspelled the name. We were running out of time so did not make it to the Ouachita's and headed to Little Rock, stayed at a nice RV park in the city on the river right across form the Clinton Library and took the footbridge over to the Library. We had a great time there as well. My point is, Arkansas should name you two as ambassadors for the state. We spent 3 days in a state that was pretty darn cool, solely because of your comments and love for it. Thanks for great videos. Oh, if we had another day, we would of searched your videos for the guy who does boat trips on the river at night. Thanks for a great diversion before heading to our hurricane hit home.
Thank you for the kind words. Glad y’all had a great time. Sorry to hear your home got hit by the storm. Hope y’all can be made whole again soon. Take care
That was a great review. It is important to let the manufacturers know how their units function in the real world. I think the Palomino is holding up well for the price point and how much use you have put on it. It is disappointing to find out how much cold and hot come through that big windshield! I wonder if Palomino continues to use that if they will get on top of some better insulation and a good cover for the glass. I was really pleased when they announced the 12-volt fridge and 400 watts of solar coming standard last year. Thanks for sharing your honest opinion and portable house with us.
I appreciate your honest evaluation of the pros & cons of your camper. I'm a 77 yo man and wish I was able to buy a nice truck camper and become a vagabond. Too bad my wife has other ideas. The two of you are so delightful. I really enjoy your vlogs. Blessings from the old man in Utah.
I enjoyed seeing y'all today. I thought that your channel had fallen off of my feed. But, no, I'm still subscribed. I wonder how I've missed your show for so long. Great review of your home. Thank you for inviting us in for a visit. I'm still three years away from being able to say adios to suits and uniforms. My clothes closets are a little different. Safe travels. Consider letting me know if you'll be in Utah.
Great video. For 2 years of constant earthquakes, I think it is holding up well. I love the updates you have made to the camper, especially taking out the microwave. That is my next big project on our camper. Ours has served as bread storage, but I could use the added strage space since we have a small, 21-foot, camper. Comparing the two, it looks like you might have more interior storage than we have. Love your videos. Keep them coming. Happy camping 😊.
love you guys... thanks for the awesome videos.. and Kellie, sorry for saying this again, but you have the most gorgeous eyes.. you're awesome too Cody.. love you both..
@@thejudge61 🌝😘 no judgement here…Lol 🥰😘😛🤩 back in the days of Clark Gable, Cary Grant we just knew they were blessed by “the man upstairs”…I miss those days of “no labels”. Peace be with you 🫶
Where do you go when you guys are having an argument and she kicks you out of the bed😂 happened to me quite a few times😂😂❤ do you set up a tent outside😂 I mean living in close quarters like that all the time can pretty much get to you😂❤ you to seem to get along pretty good😂 thank you for the video very informative see you on the next one
That is a lot of replacing. When I pay as much as they want for one of those, I want everything to be in good condition. Had an RV for travel work, and had to redo so many things on a brand new RV. And that was on paved roads, not gravel and rough roads. Finally got rid of it. I think this is just what goes along with moving vehicles after time. Nothing like a maxx air fan. They are awesome. I am looking into a van now and already have my maxx air with rain guard.....priorities....lol. Have a wonderful day!
My lance is heavier but adding the air bags makes the 3/4 ton drive great. I'm at 5 years full time and have had to replace the kitchen faucet. I even built a custom wood stove. Loving it.
Great hack for frost on the inside wall of freezer is using a flexable plastic cutting pad ( Dollar General 5pack) just pull it off when it frosted over 😉 Also have you look at Maxxair vent covers to put over your fan that you have leak issues ? We have installed this and you can even leave you vent open when driving to keep good ventilation. 👍
My wife and I have a NORTHSTAR ARROW 8.5 on a Chevy 2500HD Duramax. Non slide. 2009. We do the slide too. We both cook. Whoever is cooking also does dishes and total clean up. The other person is just relaxing. Works for us. Truck camper paid for. Wife mentioned recently about a slide. We went to look at some and then we both decided NOT TO GO IN DEBT AGAIN. BOOTY SLIDE WORKS. LOL 😆
Great info on the camper. Unrelated: I just bought a couple flannels, Cody lookin classic,,,, but Kellie's 2 tone flannel is cool, never seen that before 🤓😎😅 . Safe travels guys ✌️
Nice review. I almost got a Lance camper but opted for a travel trailer but I only use it recreationally. I'd love to do it full time. That's my dream. Gotta retire and get kids out if school first.
Honest review. A neighbour of mine had a Airstream Interstate but upgraded to the Atlas model. Spending more didn't always mean better. His new shower drain was proud of the floor so when you used it, it couldn't drain! A little thing, but incredibly annoying.
One suggestion is to get rid of that sliding bathroom door. Get a nautilus door. I have a 8801 and it's made a world of difference in space. That door blocking the kitchen is a terrible install. I also installed a separate shower hot/cold on top of the bathroom cabinet drawer. That sink facet with the shower leaks and is a dumb/cheap factory install. Also use the deck hatches for access to for plumbing and under the bathroom, great for opening up some extra storage too. The seal around the bathroom pan is junk. I upgraded witty some marine sealant and no more issues. Having solar, 2000W and 400 AH battery has helped. Can run AC for 5 hours without a generator! I have had mine for 3 years and if you're handy most of the issues are fixable for sure!
If you will use the insulation that you put under your mattress Put Velcro strips around the insulation and around the window, put that over the window I did my camper. You can’t feel anything it blocks out all of the sun ,light and cold it’s excellent.
If your Max Air doesn’t have the rain sensor on it, you may want to consider it. All auto. If the sensor gets wet, it closes and shuts the fan off. THE BEST! Love you guys! ❤
As with any travel trailer, the pannels will come loose as the staples push out over time. I carry a package of very small screws and a drill bit to replace those staples as they push out
Even living in a house you’re gonna have wear and tear on certain walls floors and all things like that so it’s no different from living in a truck camper…. Have you thought about upgrading and what would it be upgrading to?
For as much as you have used your camper, it’s held up remarkably well. In the end you will have issued with any camper no matter which one you choose.
Thanks for the video. I use a waterproof mattress cover on the bed, it keeps the moisture from your body heat from going through the mattress and causing mold. I find the windows do not keep the cold out especially if you sit at the table with your back to the window. I cut the silver/bubble heating wrap to the frame size of the windows and added rare earth magnets to insulate better. Works great. I really wish my Palomino HS8201 had the two door fridge like yours. I'm not a fan of my single door with the freezer inside but the fridge has been very reliable. I really like your rear bumper. Is it connected to the camper or the truck? Thanks again for all your great videos, luv you two ❤😊
i have the same fridge for 4 years now and i love it. ive had other rvs with the same 3 way fridge and really do not know if i would like the new 2 way fridges they are putting in all the rvs. i love my propane fridge.
You take care of the truck camper and the truck camper will take care of you. Our 2000 S&S Ponderosa 9.5 is still working like a champ. It does need some work though and that will happen next summer after our trip South for the winter. We've had a couple good cabover hits on the roof too. A gut wrenching feeling only a truck camper owner can know. Think you guys will attend the TCA Truck Camper Rally in Quartzsite in February? It's a lot of fun. Take care...
Great little camper and GREAT info. You've figured out what works for you and what you needed to change. I'm sure that would have happened with any brand you purchased. I like my TV in bed too Kellie. :)_
I am in a Promaster…love the space but getting into rough camping spots, I want a 4x4…will you talk about that? The height of the camp, the rocking / top heaviness of it- in wind and on rough roads…that is my only hesitancy …
Thumbs UP! Now that you've camped with this setup and also with a tow-able setup, would you ever go back to towing a small trailer? Any other setups you guys have been thinking about trying? Thanks and may peace and good health always be with you!
We love the truck camper for its ease of driving in the forest but we have been spending more time in small cities or towns. It would be nice to have a space to walk around in especially when the weather is bad. We consistently follow the warmer weather because we spend so much time outside. Our older pull behind was a sleeper so we just used it as a gear trailer. We have never had an actual travel trailer with livable space. One day we hope to have a larger area to live in. An actual brick and mortar is not in the cards for us.
The cord, metal and tassles on your kitchen mini blind is made from nylon, aluminum and plastic and it melts and doesn't flame/burn. If you're replacement shade is made from fiberglass fabric and aluminum/metal roller it will be fire retardant. If it is not you risk noxious fumes emanating from the shade if it catches fire.
I have the S550 Palomino pop up truck camper. I do not use it as you guys do but rather for short weekend getaways to car shows and races. I noticed the rear awning on yours and wondered if you could give me a part number or mfg so I can purchase one to install on my rig. My unit was way more stripped down than yours and only weighs around 1600 lbs
Personally, I'm not a palomino fan. I admire Lance. However, I admire any & all campers, into the tiny living trend. I so would like to one day move out of my apartment & travel. Your camper look's nice though!! 😊
5:00 If you two would abide by the "one customer at a time in the shower" rule, maybe you wouldn't be cracking the tub in your shower. 😋 Seriously, with all the replacements and upgrades you guys have had to do in that camper in just 2 years, that isn't a shining testimony for the camper. You're more tolerant than I would be.
Cody, you added a compartment on the passenger side for storage. My 2011 Palamino just has the empty space there and I want to add a compartment for hose storage. Where did you find an enclosure to put in there?
How do you dispose of your poo waste? I wanted to take out my toilet, but our RV park won’t allow us to throw poo in the trashcan . So I’m at a loss what I would do with it What is your experience? any advice on disposal? Love your channel!
We got a 2022 flagstaff 21dl with all the bells and whistles out the door With the five year extended warranty and Trailer everything you may need bag 💼 we used it 10 short texas trips and my health has gone down so I stopped by The lot where I bought it and asked how much for everything they wet only interested in the RV and pulled a value of 27000 and a 18040 offer ( 48 K ) out the door 24 months earlier, salesmen joked first did we have a gun , we laughing replied no why before he gave me the offer , it’s like the MOB really did go legitimate or at least some fortune tellers should have been there lol the joys of post Covid life God always turns a blessing
Coldest night was felt like -5 degrees but the real temp was 14. We wrapped our tankless hot water heater in a blanket. We had no issues. 0/10 do not recommend 😂
So ..... I have a Lance Camper I bought a 40 dollar cover and I keep it open in the rain , for the max air fan simple install , so I didn't have to change the whole thing out .. Also as far as the camper hitting the cab , I use a 1 inch plywood and a 1 inch rubber matt , and I have a 18 super duty. Happy Motoring and cheers 🍻
We bought a 2020 Palomino 2902 right after watching your videos, because of light weight, and the cost.
☮️out

If your Max Air doesn’t have the rain sensor on it, you may want to consider it. All auto. If the sensor gets wet, it closes and shuts the fan off. THE BEST! Love you guys! ❤
The new fan is gonna be so great!
We like the covered vents or the fans with a built-in cover-we need to have that thing open even if it is raining!
Nice video. Love you two 😊🎉. Happy trails 🎉.
Thank you!! 😁
Thanks again for all your great videos, luv you two ❤😊
Yes the bumper is connected to the camper
you can get corner moulding for those edges and under the table just plain ol quarter round.
i have the same fridge for 4 years now and i love it. ive had other rvs with the same 3 way fridge and really do not know if i would like the new 2 way fridges they are putting in all the rvs. i love my propane fridge.
Not this year
Great little camper and GREAT info. You've figured out what works for you and what you needed to change. I'm sure that would have happened with any brand you purchased.
I like my TV in bed too Kellie. :)_
Makes sense. ❤❤
Thanks for the info!
We don’t have a part number and don’t remember the brand. Sorry we couldn’t be more help.
Personally, I'm not a palomino fan. I admire Lance. However, I admire any & all campers, into the tiny living trend. I so would like to one day move out of my apartment & travel. Your camper look's nice though!! 😊
Well said!
5:00 If you two would abide by the "one customer at a time in the shower" rule, maybe you wouldn't be cracking the tub in your shower. 😋
Seriously, with all the replacements and upgrades you guys have had to do in that camper in just 2 years, that isn't a shining testimony for the camper. You're more tolerant than I would be.
Or frugal 😂
you've made great repairs and upgrades
Thanks 👍
I still miss the tent videos 😔
Cody, you added a compartment on the passenger side for storage. My 2011 Palamino just has the empty space there and I want to add a compartment for hose storage. Where did you find an enclosure to put in there?
I actually built it out of plywood and used a black exterior latex paint.
My gf and I are looking to travel in an rv. After I retire I 14 months who knows we may bump into yall
This is awesome. Thank you. We’re on the hunt for a new mattress. What make/model do you all have?
We got the Lucid brand and love it
@@CodyandKellie thanks! Appreciate the quick response! Be safe and have fun!
Love my 04 lance 1010
Install a regular exhaust over cooking area to exhaust cooking odors vent out on side of camper❤
We have one
Not bad. But the sleep over cab hitting the roof of the truck is concerning. Is there a way to fox that?
How do you dispose of your poo waste?
I wanted to take out my toilet, but our RV park won’t allow us to throw poo in the trashcan .
So I’m at a loss what I would do with it
What is your experience? any advice on disposal?
Love your channel!
Hopefully that loose awning is not allowing water to get into the wall of the camper and causing rot inside your camper walls and floor
You can rest assured that is exactly what is happening.
Can you explain how that toilet works? Thanks
Think litter box with a lid.
Enjoyed the review.👍🏻
What size garage door would someone need to back there truck into a metal building with the camper?
The hight is 11.5
We got a 2022 flagstaff 21dl with all the bells and whistles out the door
With the five year extended warranty and Trailer everything you may need bag 💼 we used it 10 short texas trips and my health has gone down so I stopped by The lot where I bought it and asked how much for everything they wet only interested in the RV and pulled a value of 27000 and a 18040 offer ( 48 K ) out the door 24 months earlier, salesmen joked first did we have a gun , we laughing replied no why before he gave me the offer , it’s like the MOB really did go legitimate or at least some fortune tellers should have been there lol the joys of post Covid life
God always turns a blessing
Smart start ac computer.
What's the coldest weather you've experienced in your Palomino and did you have any issues?
Coldest night was felt like -5 degrees but the real temp was 14. We wrapped our tankless hot water heater in a blanket. We had no issues. 0/10 do not recommend 😂
❤❤
What's the next chapter for the Odins?
Adventure!
Do u miss your first camper and what about the other one ❤
Nope, not for a second
What do you think about the lighter backpack Palominos?
If you look at the specs there is no different except the water tank, I think
@@CodyandKellie I like their weight, roughly 1,000lbs. If you're not living in them full time I think the lighter units are totally doable.
😊
Do you wish you would have got a camper with a slide?
Nope, to heavy
Do you miss the trailer?
No, not even a tiny bit
Have you looked at Lance?
Yes, way too expensive brand new. We wanted to move in and go
So are y’all back in Arkansas?
Not yet
So ..... I have a Lance Camper
I bought a 40 dollar cover and I keep it open in the rain , for the max air fan simple install , so I didn't have to change the whole thing out ..
Also as far as the camper hitting the cab , I use a 1 inch plywood and a 1 inch rubber matt , and I have a 18 super duty. Happy Motoring and cheers 🍻
Same here. Ford cabs sit higher so a platform is necessary
👍🏻
Boot scoot n boogie lol
gas mileage is 12mpg
