I'm not saddened by the closing of Pocket Camp since I could never really get into the game. I'm still kinda salty that New Horizons, being a full-price game, had so few updates in comparison, though.
I didn’t like pocket camp because it felt like a lot of grinding and had less freedom. I like logging into AC and doing the activities I want to do each day and fetch quests being optional. I hope the next mainline game does have pocket camp items because some of them seem super cool. I would like to see more interactive items for villagers beyond chairs and musical instruments
Yeah at the very least! Transfer everything from Pocket Camp into New Horizons + Shutting down the Pocket Camp game = MUCH more players playing New Horizons!!!
Yeah, but new horizons only did good simply because of what was going on during its release, we were all stuck at home. Personally, it lacked way too much compared to its predecessor.
It's a shame. Unfortunately, since Pocket Camp is riddled with microtransactions, they are incentivized to keep releasing new items so players will keep buying leaf tickets. After all, if there's no new items or events for players to spend money on, Nintendo doesn't make their money. Whereas New Horizons costs $60 up front with a $25 DLC. They already made their money when you bought the game, so they don't get anything out of porting all the exciting items from Pocket Camp into the main game. Hopefully the Pocket Camp items are featured in the next mainline Animal Crossing. With how popular ACNH was, I'm sure they'll release a sequel on the Switch's successor.
App gamed are much easier to develop for. The models of items are much less detailed and lower polygon count than new horizons. New horizons items are MUCH more detailed and have a lot more work done on them.
I wish they make a new AC game where you can dive underwater and decorate ponds ,have more freedom when building inclines and bridges, can ride on vehicles and let me decorate atleast 5 inclines😂
It feels like practically my entire day-to-day schedule has been revolving around Pocket Camp since they've started this non-stop monthly events thing with nothing but limited-time additions, and it's going to feel so refreshing to see the online version end with an offline, one-time-paid version picking up from there. That and the app has a frustrating tendency to have connection issues, which is worse on an app that needs to connect to the Internet to save your progress with practically every other action you take.
You never know, they could make both a Switch version and a mobile version. We’ll have to see what they announce but I’ve been thinking one reason they require a Nintendo account to transfer your save file might be that they’re going to switch platforms.
@@grisfigueroaaYeah but a lot of phones can't play Pocket Camp anyway. I had to wait years to get a better phone to be able to play it at all. It just won't even let you download it on the vast majority of phones I've had
Did they say they are unlocking all the items in the paid version? Or did they just say the tickets wont work? There be a difference. They could be just saying "whatever you bring in with your save is what you get to play with" Since there is no online or social aspect the app may just be a fancy way to save your game for posterity.
That what I feel like is going to happen. Basically if you don't get the items you want before November you're out of luck. I can't see them giving the items away for free even in a paid version of the game.
Yeah that was my question. I _might_ give Pocket Camp another try if everything is earnable with in-game currency (though honestly, I'm more likely to revisit Population Growing or New Leaf). But, if the paid version is just a barebones version of the game so players can still access the items they've already earned, that's a bit of a letdown. Seems like it might be the second option, so that the long-time players don't completely lose access to everything they earned over the years.
I feel like allowing in game currency to earn previously purchase only content will literally break the terms of service rules. Everyone who spent money to get stuff advertised as limited would be in the right to sue them for misleading advertising. Other gotchas have had this problem, like recently the wuwu game having to refund players because of a mistranslation making a weapon sound better than it was.
As one who felt New Horizons got shafted for ACPC, I don't care much for ACPC at all. Too many microtransactions made it seem pretty predatory trying to force one to constantly pay money into this so called "game." The whole aspect of Pocket Camp was quite boring despite the amount of really cool things being released on it. I've seen some really lovely items that I truly wish that would have been in ACNH and not this. Smh. -koff- That one rainbow set I would have loved for my Mario's Rainbow Castle set up on my Mario island....-koff-
I stopped playing pocket camp pretty much immediately because fomo made me want to spend money. I only logged in again to claim the free items for acnh
This. I stopped playing because of all the micro transactions. There was so much stuff that i wanted and i wasn't going to pay for it, and grinding for leaf tickets was a nightmare. So as long as the paid version isn't an absurd price i defiantly plan on getting it
i wish this none transaction pocket camp would be on nintendo switch as i don’t like buying apps or pc games as eventually support stops and they become totally unplayable unlike on game consoles.
i got to the point with new horizons and new leaf where I played it every day so much for so long that I had done everything and just could not play it anymore. i just feel empty when I go on when it had been my life previously so I just need a new game. i am seriously ill and am so rarely able to go out and have no friends and cant work so the game was my life and the characters were my real friends so I feel like I'm going to cry when I think about how they don't feel alive anymore. they used to help my severe depression so much but now it just makes me so sad
Have you considered playing older games? Like the GameCube version, City Folk, and Wild World? They’re also really sweet games- a lot less control but that makes it feel more alive. I was also in that situation but my health luckily turned around mostly. I’m so sorry you’ve been goin through this. Another game you might look into if you haven’t is Stardew Valley. Couldn’t recommend it enough 💙
I love Pocket Camp, but I don't understand why I would keep playing if I can't connect with friends or events. What's the point? What are they going to replace those with? If they are going to add anything new, paying a one time fee is fine.
Same. There's a lot of people in an acpc group I'm in, who are going to be sorely disappointed. They keep thinking, even though they specifically said the app will be an OFFLINE version, that it'll still get events and new collections. Which, uh. No. That requires updates. Updates require internet. They're not gonna put out monthly updates (which is what they're technically already doing for the current one being shut down) for an offline app. That kinda defeats the purpose of it being, ya know, *offline.*
I am still wondering why Nintendo has stopped most Animal Crossing content (most because Pocket Camp was still ongoing). Before New Horizons they would tell people it was in progress and we all had New Leaf while waiting. Animal Crossing was such a huge part of my gaming life as i started with the first Atari system. If they do have a new switch game in progress, i wish they would just let the world know.
I wonder if they will put all itens and clothes avaliable to use and decor as please or if you will get stucked with what you collected within the game before its closing...
That's what has me cautious about potentially buying the offline version of the game - I'm good with "unlocking" items with bells, as long as everything is going to be accessible at some point. But if it is going to lock players to only what is already collected in the person's save data, then I'm not sure if it'll be worth it (to me)
I love Nintendo so much tbh, but I refuse to spend a lot on a phone because Im bad for dropping them at work, and they always struggle to play any of their mobile games.. that, and i really don't like mobile games
I’m so impressed that they’ll be releasing a non-networked version of pocket camp so they don’t have to upkeep the servers. so many live service games just shut down when they can’t keep up the servers anymore so I love the idea of releasing an offline version instead
I hope that they give the villagers sleeves in the new microtransactionless version of acpc. And I mean sleeves like if you give them a puffy sleeved shirt to wear it’ll actually be puffy sleeved instead of kinda squishing them into the basic t-shirt sleeves like in acnh. I doubt it will but yk
I am skeptical about Pocket Camp transitioning from Free to Paid. But I do play New Leaf right beside Pocket Camp on my phone, so there's no worries there.
5:52 I would definitely buy it just because of the little Poppy figure but you’re right they never showed any campers in ACHN maybe that’s the foreshadowing that the new Animal Crossing game 👀and we more focused on campers?
I imagine they are continuing events and leaf tickets up to the final day so they have the option to make more money right until "closing." It might be that all these things were planned and produced before the decision to shut down was made, and they didn't want it to go to "waste" by not having any return on it. Which I guess I'm fine with, but only if they're making all items the game has ever had available in some way for the paid app.
Yeah they literally had a major sale on leaf tickets just a couple weeks before they made that announcement. A LOT of people in the group I'm in, are VERY pissed about that. Saying they never would've bought any (many saying they wanted to spend them on toy day items), if they knew the app was gonna get shut down in November anyways.

Wondering if the emphasis on vehicles in the lego sets might hint at the new pocket camp app. Also, since Lego has the molds now, I think it would not be too much "out there" for them to release AC Minifig Blindbags!
the new lego sets look cute but I am heartbroken that we don't get sable with the tailer shop. that seems so wrong. she is one of my favorite characters, I even dressed as her for Halloween a couple years ago. i think they should put out a set of blind bag minifigures for animal crossing. but I'm sure they make money off the sets largely because of the figures so maybe they wont. i also think it was a big missed opportunity that they didn't do an animal crossing lego advent calendar this year (they have already released them so we know they arent doing it) that would have been so popular. I'm sad about pocket camp but the microtransactions were a lot. so I am holding out hope that I will enjoy the new version and that it wont be too expensive.

It had been awhile since I watched an Animal Crossing video, so I'm happy to see that years later you're still coming out with high-quality content! :) Excited about this new version of Pocket Camp. The last time I played Pocket Camp was just to get the free items for New Horizons back when those items were first released. Also releasing the Able Sisters set without both Mabel and Sable feels like a crime, 'sisters' is right there in the name!
Im going to miss the monthly events. I would love if they had a monthly paid version (without the leaf tickets) to help support an online version still with monthly events with the social aspect/friends. But I understand many probably wouldn’t want that.
Can’t wait to preorder the 3 new lego set for continue the collection i goin to need a big set of table for make my lego ac village!! Can’t wait for it and can’t wait to see what they goin to do with pocket camp

Whilst the microtransaction aspect did kinda suck I found that getting free cookies and rewards were a big draw of what kept me coming back to the game. The chasing of a coveted item, the high of a random 5 star. Same with events. You'd have to keep playing just to get everything. I don't think simply removing the transactions will leave enough actual gameplay.
I'm saddened by the Pocket Camp. I guess I'll say my goodbyes. I spent money on the Pals thing. Not so much on tickets. Looking forward to the Lego sets as I've gotten into it a bit more, a good past time. Hoping more updates come out over time for AC:NH! #bobsgang

I would really like to buy The animal crossing Lego sets but I don't have the space to display right now I feel the same about the legend of Zelda Lego sets I don't know where I would display them if I had the room I would create a giant let's play case for these
I ain’t upset about Pocket Camp is ending at all I’m really super happy it’s finally ending I’m so tired of that game still continuing now I can finally start forgiving Isabelle Timmy and Tommy and I can get started building Timmy and Tommy’s shop and a town hall on my island and have Isabelle on my island in a little while when Pocket Camp finally ends
I dont get why people are mad at microtransactions for this game specifically because it has always been possible to fully enjoy it, finish all the goals in events and get a ton of green tickets for free. Ive been playing for years and never spend a dime and ive got almost all the stuff! I dont get why people are excited about a paid app that will have no friends and no events. What will there be to do anymore on there? Ive already invited all the available animals to my camp, made every DIY, crossed all the flowers. Im also frustrated with the lego sets coming on jan 1st and not BEFORE CHRISTMAS! Like, who's the dumbass at Nintendo who decided this?
I'm not saddened by the closing of Pocket Camp since I could never really get into the game. I'm still kinda salty that New Horizons, being a full-price game, had so few updates in comparison, though.

I have to wonder if the next mobile game could have connections with the future Switch 2 game and maybe when it closes we will get Switch 2 news?
AHHHH I LIVE IN BOSTON I WANNA GO SO BAD
Still not very happy about Pocket Camp but I am interested to see what happens
Im curious to see how this game will be , and how you are gonna get the cookies
I love the new Lego sets! Sasha was a little unrecognizable though 😮
I hate the fact they be removing the online stuff from pocket camp, i used to play it with my boyfriend 😭
I just want the Pocke Camp items available in New Horizons. ToT
Please do this to Mario Kart Tour.
ITS CLOSING IN MY BIRTHDAY? worst berfday ever😔
I can’t play Pocket Camp it always crashes 😅
Maybe they are still releasing new stuff for consumers to spend their remaining leaf tickets before they cease to exist.
Bob’s Gang! Thanks for all the updates!
I’d prefer actual updates to ACNH. Definitely things they could improve, like allowing players to have more than one damn island per switch.
Oh man.. I got back into the game a few months back, and now its shutting down.. Tine to spend all those leaf tickets.
I never really got the hype for PC, mainly because it is blocked on my country. Ugh! 🙄
I really hope they go back to updating the game with new items and events etc I need a reason to start the game up again
Theyre taking a free game and shutting it down to make it paid.... HELLO)??????

Sasha toy 😱💛
Hello everyone!!!!
Bob’s Gang!
Nintendo doesn’t decide that, it’s up to LEGO. They just allow them to use the brand.
