I remember feeling so weird during them, but I ignored that gut feeling... especially the final ritual: everything in me said no, but I ignored it. Now as an adult I am completely out of it, DENOUNCED for years now! My life is not pledged to an organization... It's pledged to Jesus Christ! It is that deep!

I applaud all of you for denouncing. I've seen a few of these vids and it does seem that those who have denounced are not currently in school. I'm wondering if there have been any who denounce while still in school? Do you think the pressure is to great?
Our freshman year another honors college student cried because I said I'm not a Christian by denomination but by Faith. This girl crossed DST senior year and everything in her life (her man, her experiences, friends, career) revolves around elephants and red.
@@djnaenae102490 why did she cry? What you said are facts. Christian is how you identify yourself under your religion (Christianity), just like Muslim is a follower of Islam. Religions are further broken down into cultures such as Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox (Christianity). Followers of Islam are either Sunni or Shiite. Her crying speaks to her lack of knowledge of knowledge or her experience. As a Delta, I know elephants are nice to have but they are unofficial. Depending on her "why" she's probably happy to have made it. Her experience with religion may have changed since her Freshman year. Who knows. But that has nothing to do with her crossing Delta, definitely not four years later.

I did my research. I was so obsessed with trying to become a Delta but I felt something in my spirit kept saying "No, that is not my plans for you". I didn't understand why so I searched for the answers and God gave it to me. I always sympathize with former greeks denouncing because I knew how hard it was for me to finally not persue Greek life I can only imagine how they feel joining it, falling in love with it, then denouncing it. Brave warriors. I am rooting for them!

Dwa Lew Yes, I have felt this way and the enemy still tries to get me with RJ’s even now. So many people do not even want to understand respond so negatively (even believers). However, I’m up this morning reading the word in John 1 and God showed that even when Jesus was here physically walking this earth, the very people that believed in his message/law didn’t recognize or believe that he was who he said he was. This gives me perspective and lets me know there is nothing new under the sun. He went through all this x 1000 and I can withstand just a portion of that for his glory and honor. Amen

I grew up in church and I never heard the subject talked about in church ... and I mean Never. "Maybe" a pastor mentioned how you shouldn't really join a sorority very very briefly but nothing in-depth or anything that would even leave you knowing what a sorority really was if church was your only source for that information. Personally, I never wanted to be in a sorority. I didn't get the big deal. But a lot of people could have been at least informed (from a Biblical perspective) about what they were about to be Target for an exposed to, and maybe they would have made a different decision, if they would have had just a little bit of knowledge from responsible and caring people like you. When you have a certain type of relationship with Him, there are things that He will speak to you on if you ask, feelings that will disrupt your peace if you don’t seek him etc. So in short, He spoke to me and basically said no. I was kinda upset but I listened and never questioned why because I trust Him enough to know that if He told me no it was for a reason ♥️

The Akas we're suspended for years until after I graduated. I was so heartbroken that I didn't get a chance to join. Then I start watching videos like this and see that it was only for God's protection. It wasn't meant for me to join.
I denounced AKA too. I pledged in 1991 and rarely speak about it. If I had to do it all over again, I would have never pledged. I was ignorant back then, but not anymore. My niece wanted to pledge AKA last year, I told her not to join and to focus on getting into medical school. Not sure if she pledged or not, but one thing she does know is that it is not of God! I'mSoo Shook as I sought answers from God about this. This is actually what he revealed to me. When i went to him and asked “why did you even let me into the organization” It was laid on my heart “for a time like this”. I don’t believe he took that chance on me- he knew what I would so ultimately but I was never this courageous or brave. That was all him working in me. Yes I asked god the same question when I learned this same thing about delta and I came to the same revelation...... before the womb he knew us and knew when you found out you would tell it and not just expose aka but satan. You have no loyalty to Satan and his devices it’s not about being against the women of the sorority as many have accused most who denounce, it’s the foundation and principality that we are showing disloyalty to. For me i always found it funny that the word denounce was basically publicly declaring something evil! Which is the word that most of Greeks use if you decide to come out of it. I wanted to join this organization in college. I remember going to a meeting my college required prospects to attend, and each of the organizations brought in member representation. I will never forget AKA’s came in singing “My Heart, My Mind, and My Strength belongs to AKA”. Naturally, I’m singing along in my head and I said ”soul” where they said, ”strength” (I believe due to a hymnal I grew up singing). I remember becoming instantly uncomfortable. I told my older sister about it and she said yeah someone at her church told her Greek organizations were not of God. She then told me but ”you decided how far you take it”. I thought to myself true and still pursued the organization. Even after knowing something wasn't right I contemplated for years on attempting to join again. Finally, I just prayed that God would grant me the desires I think this organization would bring me. It is by the grace of God that I came across this video.

Girrrrl. This just blessed me! I denounced Delta a few months ago.. and I was SO confused when God told me denounce. I was so spiritually dead when I crossed.. nothing about Greek life was alarming to me! It wasn’t until after I decided to denounce (out of obedience to God).. He revealed all of the things in our rituals (and pledging process) that were NOT of him. The Delta rituals are similar to the AKAs.. it manipulates scripture, idolizes the organization and even has a bowing moment during the initiation ceremony. 😳 It’s so crazy to see alll of the D9 organizations are participating in this.. and we were so blind to it! But I’m continuously thanking God for his grace and mercy! He removed the veil from my eyes and clearly He’s doing the same for others! 🙌🏽 Thank you for making this vid. The way you broke this down and backed it up with scripture to expose the enemy and reveal truth is what sets you apart; and I believe places HIS seal of approval on this video! when I was in college I remember my friend was going to pledge. I was going to do it with her. I seen my mom every weekend and told my mom and my older sister I was. my mom and my sister was like are you sure you want to. I was like yes. my mom said just pray about it. I was like what in the H... I remember thinking in my head why are you making a big deal out of this. But I did talk to god about it because I always did a little of what my mom said do. So as the next week went by. I went to church and the message was about worshiping false idols and was saying how idols can came in may shapes and sizes. So i didnt pledge. This is the first time am hearing something about this since then.
Worship of the virgin mary. Idle worship? Not God. Not Jesus. Not even the Holy Spirit. Idle worship maybe? How did Mary get her place in religion? Who gave her this position? Another question. I think it says Jesus was a poor man. How? Three kings and some brought gifts,silver and gold to the barn. Where did it go? I am open for discussion. I tend to over think or not think at all.

It’s likely that the founders had good intentions but they devil decided to twist it and use it for evil. But you are absolutely right. We need to be able discern what is of God and what is not. I would have been out the minute they asked me to kneel before a shrine.
I wanted to join in college so badly. That particular organization ( DST) was just coming off suspension and i wanted to be on the first line. My GPA was great, i had great recommendations and i was really active in different organizations so i was bound to get in. Made it past the first interview, i was invited to the second round and my car broke down. The exact amount of joining the organization (which ive saved for so long) is the amount the fix my car. I had to fix my car and years later, I realized God orchestrated it b/c he didn’t want me in there.
Matthew 10:33-40 New International Version (NIV) "But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven." God is watching and I am sure he is proud of you. Keep close to God and give your life to Christ and he will not lead you astray. When walking with Christ you will lose people and many may not agree but you will not lose Him. Stand firm and pray to God because it only gets harder from here.

I too denounced my letters from AKA almost 10 years ago and while the decision was tough at first I am glad I listened to God and obeyed him. I was fortunate enough to have a great support system in my friends that helped me grow closer to Christ and gain my identity in Him as I let my identity in AKA go. Let’s be real the only organization that God approves of is the church and it doesn’t require any secret rituals or oaths or pledging processing to get in just belief in Jesus Christ, repentance, and obedience. This is the only organization that I care to be a part of. Kudos to you sis for your obedience. I’ll keep you lifted in prayer that God continues to give you courage to speak your truth and spread His word that says if He’s lifted up, He’ll draw all man unto Him. You’re definitely lifting Him up. John 12:32

I denounced my membership in Delta Sigma Theta in Dec. 2018, after God's leading, which included searching the scriptures, re-reading the ritual (in it's entirety), and learning the origins of Greek letter organizations and secret societies as a whole. Im 16 and my some of my family members are apart of delta sigma theta. I never understood the whole "not of god concept" until now. A dark room, candles, and a ritual book sounds like a new religion all just to stroll and shout aloud and hold a pyramid. I appreciate an actual member speaking on this and making a broader understanding.
I wanted to join a sorority in college. I didn't like the fact that I was told I had to speak to the members in a manner of submission--head bowed and not looking them in the eye. I only now to God. Then I was told that I had to be broken down to be lifted up. Again, that's God's job. When I entered seminary and I learned about Greek organizations and their purpose in the time of Paul, I knew I had made the right decision.
@@KingLeno Black Greek Organizations may have started in the 1900's but that's not the start of Greek organizations as a whole. Within the Greco Roman World slaves, mainly, were pressured to join organizations and secret societies that focused on the pagan worship at the time; many of which also promoted sexual immoral acts. Black Greeks have taken their model from predominantly White Greek organizations... I don't think we have to think to hard to imagine where their rituals were adopted.
Denouncing an organization, but showing ads to get paid. Spend your time teaching other things. Your message is very good. The platform and being paid is not.

Something had always gotten in the way, and now that I'm 'available' something still didnt seem right. Her rebuttals to my inquiries about their super secret pledge process and their founding principles is always 'we pray over everything' . But this video has helped me see what Holy spirit was tryna tell me. "Just because God is in it, doesnt mean he's Of it". This popped up in my recommendation, as someone who has relatives in positions in these organisations and to currently be in college, choosing not to be in them was literally like going against my family. As a former member of DST, I took this position several years ago after going through a similar experience. As you move closer to God, He will indeed reveal things to you that are not of Him. I have, over time, discarded all paraphernalia, and burned my certificate. I have asked God for forgiveness. I applaud you, my sister in Christ, and pray for your continued strength. It’s not always easy picking God over something you care deeply about, but it’s going to well worth it. He’s Alpha and Omega, and everything else is secondary anyway. Thank you for sharing this. I'm praying that God uses this to help bring a lot of people out of darkness. I almost pledged in college. I was away at a school where I didn't know anyone and had a family member that had already gone Greek at a different school. So I thought it was a way into sisterhood and community. But God had saved me the year before and I got plugged into a church. So when I got the "Are you alone? Meet us here," phone call, I told them I had changed my mind. And I've always been grateful to God for steering me away.

I did the same thing with DST I began to be so convicted. I actually knew before pledging that God was convicting me but I did it anywa. Finally I began to detach myself from it, and the final thing was taking the plate off my car I went to put on my DST ball cap to run out and the Holy spirit said I told you to get rid of everything. And honestly I am still holding on to my line sweatshirt but Glory to God After this video I am lettingbit go. The soul ties are strong in these organizations

I always wondered about this in college and i am 48 now. I realized my cousin stop hanging out with me in college because of a sorority. I couldnt figure out why she did this. Now I know why. Interpetation would need to be based on supporting scriptures, and looking at those scriptures in the original language including individual word study inclusive of the number of occurances. The scriptures used were taken from the Tanakh directly, and the New Testament scriptures used were quotations based on Tanakh. If a person want to leave an organization, I can respect them using the door and leaving. But to make claims about the organization based of their personal interpretation of the Bible is taking it to another level. I've been asking for the specific verse wherein God tells the believers to not join college-based organizations. So far, no one's even attempted to provide said verse(s). I went through a ritual as part of invitation for a Masonic Order...I was blindfolded and it was supernaturally hot in there. I can't even explain it because it was not a thermostat issue. It's actually what made me decline the invitation. I don't know anything about the Bible but I am learning more about the Word and I am so glad that God covers us.

I am so moved by your bravery. I went to the founding university and attended a Greek rush. Never turned in the application because after pre-pledging for almost 2 years, my spirit couldn’t stomach the hypocrisy anymore. That was over 15 years ago. Since then, I’ve grown in my walk with God and become aware of the demonic roots of all these types of organizations. So often we only hear about masonry, but indeed all of these organizations leave generational curses that are nothing to play with. After watching your video, I wept. Maybe because of what God spared me from but also in intercession for the mass exodus that must take place for our brothers and sisters. Your defense of this is very well stated. Feels like nobody understands the point of applying scripture within its proper CONTEXT nowadays. I'm an alum of an IFC frat at Memphis and I'll say that I had plenty of moments where I questioned certain things I noticed going on around me when considering my faith. I decided to stay in part due to a conviction I felt to be a positive influence as an ambassador of Christ to my brothers, but I always say that if I had the chance to go through college again, I wouldn't have joined a frat again because it's just not worth all the struggle that comes with Greek life as a Christian. Now that I work as a campus missionary, it's crazy how much my perspective on stuff like this has shifted. There are many solid Christians in Greek life that I respect so all the more power to the ones that stay and are able to handle it with strong faiths but also respect to people like you who have the courage to walk away and stand true to pleasing God instead of the people around you. Stay blessed and bold with your faith. It'll always take you further than anything or anyone of this world can.
This is the BEST revelation I’ve seen yet. Each instance of conflict was backed by the word of God rather than personal experience alone. It reminds me of the film “The Book of Eli” you should watch it if you haven’t seen it yet. the devil tried his hardest to get his hands on the Bible so that he could use it to manipulate the people left after the second coming. What a powerful video. I always wanted to pledge AKA in undergrad but God kept saying no. I was never presented the opportunity. I was upset and wish I had the opportunity to do it and even considered it for graduate chapter, but God hasn’t opened that door for me. I always wondered why? I’m currently in the process of transforming and my relationship with God is getting stronger and stronger! I’m learning to trust him with my life and when he says no, it’s for a reason! I randomly saw this video on my TL and I had to watch it. This touches me because 3-4 years ago I didn’t understand why I never had the opportunity to join the sorority but it just didn’t feel right or 100% genuine for me. The “sisters” didn’t feel like people I wanted relationships with either. It just didn’t sit 100% well with me but I wanted to do it anyway. I also had family members that are Greek. Fast forward to today, I’m finally realizing that it wasn’t for me! God has other plans for me and he knows that this was not in his plans for me.

I had the opportunity to do so in undergrad but I knew who would be my potential line sisters and I didn’t like the sister hood of the line that was going to pledge the next. I dissociated myself from my sorority my senior year. I tried again later in life through a graduate chapter. I was only really interested in community service and I had hoped that at 40 years old (the general age of the chapter) that people would be more mature. I was wrong. It was still very catty and strife filled spirit. That attitude permeates through the organizations. It’s a major turn off. Kind of cult like. I watched good people become very nasty. All just trying to find validation. ...Even as very grown women.
I sit among many people with bad vibes in church every Sunday because people are dealing with so much. I still go to church because no one is holy. Pray for the organizations to cut the oaths and what is called pagan rituals. I do believe when God says go, go. I also believe people who are having problems with orgs can bring it to the org about getting rid of it. So many are feeling this. They would have to listen and begin to make changes. My relative wanted to be an AKA but she said she was in no way going to hold her hands out at the side, tilt her head back and shake her hair. For her she felt that was vain. So people feel things before joining and don’t do it. Some still join wanting to be a part of a group. I wonder how much better these orgs can be without all the rituals and oaths Christians don’t like? These organizations were started 100 years ago and changes can be made without judging all members to be sinners because they still in the organization. Change it!

I have to say that in 2018 I had considered rejoining and I came upon a video from a DST member who denounced after I attended a "founder's day" event. that was God's sign to me that you need not rejoin. I got rid of whatever shirts & para I had and God had me denounce on Facebook the following year in 2019. Though it was tough, I knew that obeying God was better than sacrifice. I knew there was a reason why sororities and fraternities never sat well with me. This is a good reminder because sometimes dangerous things like this aren’t 100% clear.
I totally forgot. Years ago I was in a couch with my supposed to be future line sisters, and I clearly heard God said No! God had been leading me for days to say no and that day we were supposed to finalize that we would pledge and i told them I couldn't do it (even though I didn't understand it). Thank God there was no opposition and I was able to walk out. At that time, peer pressure is so strong to go with the flow but I'm glad they didn't shame me for saying no. This is eye opening, thanks for sharing.
Of course people have different experiences while pledging but I always felt like many people denounced their letters from putting too much of themselves into the organization(which is a serious problem). You reading and giving examples of the ritual gives a very different perspective.....its actually sick and disturbing. Great video!

Although I am not apart of Greek, I always struggled in college with the battle of the conviction and knowledge from the Holy Spirit, which led me to always turn away when presented with the opportunity. I denounced and repented from my vows to DST. Once I understood what I was going through the initiation process, it was trauma bonding done to confuse and weaken the spirit to manipulate you. TMH doesn’t require us to belong to anything for salvation. Great video...

I got the letter notarized at my bank and the manager was an Omega and he tried to give me a hard time. In the end, I was able to plant a seed and minister to him. I give God all the glory!!
What’s the point of writing corporate with a notarized letter, the only thing you had to do was stop paying dues and you not a active member in their eyes anyway because all they want is your money.

I have been going back and forth between being an AKA for years. I keep meeting AKA’s and at times people would assume I was one. One night, I had a dream that I was about to cross and I was sent in this dark room. There were people standing around like they were in a trance or something. I remember having to do sexual favors for a leader and I remember being confused when I awoke. It was like I received my confirmation that night. My dad was always against Greek life because he said that the only God we should worship is our Father in Heaven. Years later, THIS video has confirmed what I’ve always known. The spirit world is REAL, and she’s right, not all spirits are good.

All of this time, the scribes or whomever first noted the creeds and oaths of each organization did take Biblical scriptures out of context to fit the purposes of itself. Just imagine how many initiates just saw the word "O God" in their oaths and thought "maybe this is my destiny to follow through with this, because 'God' is mentioned in this chant that I am reciting...". But then, if the (initiate) is a young lady and man and have never actually read the scriptures for themselves then they wouldn't realize that a real text out of the Bible is being twisted and reformatted, just to manipulate them into this organizational soul-tie. I have watched several Greek-organization denouncing videos of wonderful awakened Christians for the past two weeks. By far, this comparison of the AKA oath vs a scripture from the Book of Psalms has TRULY showed "us" the trickery and deceit that is in the very foundations of what has been so popular in the last 8 decades of the American Black culture. The weird thing is that the document that you are quoting from is quite old and was established back before 1930, for each of the divine nines. Its not even like the recent generations produced it, which means that those oaths and deceitful creeds has been traditionally and ritually passed down uninterruptedly! So, when we always hear that our grandparent, great-grands, and further back were very religious and spiritual within the Christianity and the church, there were obviously a population of them that went to the colleges, learned worldly systems, religions, and mythologies. Then, set up organizations in the name of white "Greece", adopted their deity legends and rituals, brought those philosophies back home to the black churches and communities, and them tried to mix & mingle them up with Christianity! That is crazy; I am glad you beautiful people who are denouncing, are revealing these things to us who've even considered "unwarily" joining! The weirdest thing of all is that there are thousands of Black Churches all across America who has pastors, ministers, deacons, ushers, apostles, evangelists that went through these baffled rituals and chanted these sinister oaths and yet claim righteousness in Christianity at the same time while fully representing these Greek organizations, knowing what all is secretly consisted within it. smh
About 4-5 years ago God instructed me not to join this organization. I saw the oath for AKAs before attending the rush meeting & automatically felt conflicted. After get all the paperwork I needed to turn in completed.. I decided obedience was better than sacrifice. I was angry and heartbroken with God for a very long time. I am an AkA. My experience was wonderful. As years progressed, I grew out of the sorority. I am a Christian now and I was a Christian when I pledged. Life takes you on a journey you either grow or you don’t. There was nothing evil about pledging for me. Just my opinion.
I am also Greek and my experience was wonderful as well. All BGLOs are founded on Christian principles. She really shouldn't be sharing specific details about the process. GOD was my lord and savior when i crossed and he is now ! that will never change.

But afterwards, she was different and she explained it as saying she wasnt sure who she was after she endured what she did while she pledged. She did tell me some if the things they had to do loke not perming their hair and waking up in the middle of the night and going to a house and running silly errands. You're right i don't understand and it i made it a point not to try to understand it. We all wanted to pledge growing up but i decided it wasnt for me before i even tried. I hold strong to my now bowong down or kissing no ones butt (and i meam that in the most respectful way). I dont kiss up to anyone to get something. Ive been that way since i had a voice as a child so i knew I couldn't be in a sorority because I could never make myself do the things needed to get in. I experienced it a little when i was in band amd we shut it down entering as the freshman class because I didn't see the necessity. We all knew about the hazing, we all jnew they break you down to rebuild you back up in the sisterhood, we knew people who crossed before we got to college, some of tje common things sororities do are wide known knowledge in the black community so I'm not completely in the dark and most african americans are not in the complete dark about what you need to do to cross. Its the stuff done in the dark that people dont know about. And its done that way bu design i guess idk. Ive seen videos of people denouncing many frats and sororities and went down a rabbit hole clocking on videos. It started with an aka denouncement video, then two delta denouncement videos, and an omega denouncement (not on Facebook but in the comments there were so many people who said they denounced) . I llve what sororities and fraternities do for the community no one os taking that away from any of them, i think it's just not for everybody. Some will struggle with the changing if bible versus and bowing and kneeling and some wont. To each his own. I also saw in a lot of the people who felt uncomfortable about what they did, it was the part that is "secret." The pledging and kneeling and bowing which they say conflicts with words in the bible. This is their journey. You asked why talk about something you took an oath on, i cant answer that because I'm not Greek. I dont even say the pledge of allegiance because i dont like the way the words are. I DONT plesge allegiance to anything, period. If my country is wrong, I'm going to speak on it and not "back them up no matter what" whatis also interesting to me is that the poloce take a fraternal order and a light bulb went iff for me one day. People say, why when a cop sees another cops doing wrong or overstepping what's right, they don't say anything...? Well its for the same reason you think no one speak of the process for pledging greek. It's a shut up mentality. But people want to get uoset at police for not speaking up whwn they kill black people and are racist but they understand the same oath mentaility when it comes to greeks??? Like i said have no judgement on greek societies but it's not for me. If it's for you (in general) then it's for you. But there are many people who are still under greek oaths who tell what happens. Our freshman year another honors college student cried because I said I'm not a Christian by denomination but by Faith. This girl crossed DST senior year and everything in her life (her man, her experiences, friends, career) revolves around elephants and red.

Religions are further broken down into cultures such as Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox (Christianity). Followers of Islam are either Sunni or Shiite. Her crying speaks to her lack of knowledge of knowledge or her experience.

I did my research. I was so obsessed with trying to become a Delta but I felt something in my spirit kept saying "No, that is not my plans for you". I didn't understand why so I searched for the answers and God gave it to me. Dwa Lew Yes, I have felt this way and the enemy still tries to get me with RJ’s even now. So many people do not even want to understand respond so negatively (even believers). However, I’m up this morning reading the word in John 1 and God showed that even when Jesus was here physically walking this earth, the very people that believed in his message/law didn’t recognize or believe that he was who he said he was. This gives me perspective and lets me know there is nothing new under the sun. He went through all this x 1000 and I can withstand just a portion of that for his glory and honor. Amen

I grew up in church and I never heard the subject talked about in church ... and I mean Never. "Maybe" a pastor mentioned how you shouldn't really join a sorority very very briefly but nothing in-depth or anything that would even leave you knowing what a sorority really was if church was your only source for that information. Personally, I never wanted to be in a sorority. I didn't get the big deal. But a lot of people could have been at least informed (from a Biblical perspective) about what they were about to be Target for an exposed to, and maybe they would have made a different decision, if they would have had just a little bit of knowledge from responsible and caring people like you. When you have a certain type of relationship with Him, there are things that He will speak to you on if you ask, feelings that will disrupt your peace if you don’t seek him etc. So in short, He spoke to me and basically said no. I was kinda upset but I listened and never questioned why because I trust Him enough to know that if He told me no it was for a reason ♥️

The Akas we're suspended for years until after I graduated. I was so heartbroken that I didn't get a chance to join. Then I start watching videos like this and see that it was only for God's protection. It wasn't meant for me to join.

I denounced AKA too. I pledged in 1991 and rarely speak about it. If I had to do it all over again, I would have never pledged. I was ignorant back then, but not anymore.
My niece wanted to pledge AKA last year, I told her not to join and to focus on getting into medical school.
Not sure if she pledged or not, but one thing she does know is that it is not of God! I did my part.

When i went to him and asked “why did you even let me into the organization” It was laid on my heart “for a time like this”. I don’t believe he took that chance on me- he knew what I would so ultimately but I was never this courageous or brave. That was all him working in me. Yes I asked god the same question when I learned this same thing about delta and I came to the same revelation...... before the womb he knew us and knew when you found out you would tell it and not just expose aka but satan. You have no loyalty to Satan and his devices it’s not about being against the women of the sorority as many have accused most who denounce, it’s the foundation and principality that we are showing disloyalty to. For me i always found it funny that the word denounce was basically publicly declaring something evil! Which is the word that most of Greeks use if you decide to come out of it. I wanted to join this organization in college. I remember going to a meeting my college required prospects to attend, and each of the organizations brought in member representation. I will never forget AKA’s came in singing “My Heart, My Mind, and My Strength belongs to AKA”. Naturally, I’m singing along in my head and I said ”soul” where they said, ”strength” (I believe due to a hymnal I grew up singing). I remember becoming instantly uncomfortable. I told my older sister about it and she said yeah someone at her church told her Greek organizations were not of God. She then told me but ”you decided how far you take it”. I thought to myself true and still pursued the organization. Even after knowing something wasn't right I contemplated for years on attempting to join again. Finally, I just prayed that God would grant me the desires I think this organization would bring me. It is by the grace of God that I came across this video.

Girrrrl. This just blessed me! I denounced Delta a few months ago.. and I was SO confused when God told me denounce. I was so spiritually dead when I crossed.. nothing about Greek life was alarming to me! It wasn’t until after I decided to denounce (out of obedience to God).. He revealed all of the things in our rituals (and pledging process) that were NOT of him. The Delta rituals are similar to the AKAs.. it manipulates scripture, idolizes the organization and even has a bowing moment during the initiation ceremony. 😳
It’s so crazy to see alll of the D9 organizations are participating in this.. and we were so blind to it! But I’m continuously thanking God for his grace and mercy! He removed the veil from my eyes and clearly He’s doing the same for others! 🙌🏽

when I was in college I remember my friend was going to pledge. I was going to do it with her. I seen my mom every weekend and told my mom and my older sister I was. my mom and my sister was like are you sure you want to. I was like yes. my mom said just pray about it. I was like what in the H... I remember thinking in my head why are you making a big deal out of this. But I did talk to god about it because I always did a little of what my mom said do. So as the next week went by. I went to church and the message was about worshiping false idols and was saying how idols can came in may shapes and sizes. So i didnt pledge. This is the first time am hearing something about this since then.
I love how we receive appropriate and timely signs when we genuinely seek God's will in our lives.

I wanted to join in college so badly. That particular organization ( DST) was just coming off suspension and i wanted to be on the first line. My GPA was great, i had great recommendations and i was really active in different organizations so i was bound to get in. Made it past the first interview, i was invited to the second round and my car broke down. The exact amount of joining the organization (which ive saved for so long) is the amount the fix my car. I had to fix my car and years later, I realized God orchestrated it b/c he didn’t want me in there.

I too denounced my letters from AKA almost 10 years ago and while the decision was tough at first I am glad I listened to God and obeyed him. I was fortunate enough to have a great support system in my friends that helped me grow closer to Christ and gain my identity in Him as I let my identity in AKA go. Let’s be real the only organization that God approves of is the church and it doesn’t require any secret rituals or oaths or pledging processing to get in just belief in Jesus Christ, repentance, and obedience. This is the only organization that I care to be a part of. Kudos to you sis for your obedience. I’ll keep you lifted in prayer that God continues to give you courage to speak your truth and spread His word that says if He’s lifted up, He’ll draw all man unto Him. I denounced my membership in Delta Sigma Theta in Dec. 2018, after God's leading, which included searching the scriptures, re-reading the ritual (in it's entirety), and learning the origins of Greek letter organizations and secret societies as a whole. Im 16 and my some of my family members are apart of delta sigma theta. I never understood the whole "not of god concept" until now. I wanted to join a sorority in college. I didn't like the fact that I was told I had to speak to the members in a manner of submission--head bowed and not looking them in the eye. I only now to God. Then I was told that I had to be broken down to be lifted up. Again, that's God's job.
When I entered seminary and I learned about Greek organizations and their purpose in the time of Paul, I knew I had made the right decision.

Within the Greco Roman World slaves, mainly, were pressured to join organizations and secret societies that focused on the pagan worship at the time; many of which also promoted sexual immoral acts.
Black Greeks have taken their model from predominantly White Greek organizations... I don't think we have to think to hard to imagine where their rituals were adopted.

As a former member of DST, I took this position several years ago after going through a similar experience. As you move closer to God, He will indeed reveal things to you that are not of Him. I have, over time, discarded all paraphernalia, and burned my certificate. I have asked God for forgiveness. I applaud you, my sister in Christ, and pray for your continued strength. It’s not always easy picking God over something you care deeply about, but it’s going to well worth it. He’s Alpha and Omega, and everything else is secondary anyway. Thank you for sharing this. I'm praying that God uses this to help bring a lot of people out of darkness. I almost pledged in college. I was away at a school where I didn't know anyone and had a family member that had already gone Greek at a different school. So I thought it was a way into sisterhood and community. But God had saved me the year before and I got plugged into a church. So when I got the "Are you alone? Meet us here," phone call, I told them I had changed my mind. And I've always been grateful to God for steering me away.

I did the same thing with DST I began to be so convicted. I actually knew before pledging that God was convicting me but I did it anywa. Finally I began to detach myself from it, and the final thing was taking the plate off my car I went to put on my DST ball cap to run out and the Holy spirit said I told you to get rid of everything. If a person want to leave an organization, I can respect them using the door and leaving. But to make claims about the organization based of their personal interpretation of the Bible is taking it to another level.

I went through a ritual as part of invitation for a Masonic Order...I was blindfolded and it was supernaturally hot in there. I can't even explain it because it was not a thermostat issue. It's actually what made me decline the invitation. I don't know anything about the Bible but I am learning more about the Word and I am so glad that God covers us.

I am so moved by your bravery. I went to the founding university and attended a Greek rush. Never turned in the application because after pre-pledging for almost 2 years, my spirit couldn’t stomach the hypocrisy anymore. That was over 15 years ago. Since then, I’ve grown in my walk with God and become aware of the demonic roots of all these types of organizations. So often we only hear about masonry, but indeed all of these organizations leave generational curses that are nothing to play with. After watching your video, I wept. Maybe because of what God spared me from but also in intercession for the mass exodus that must take place for our brothers and sisters. Your defense of this is very well stated. Feels like nobody understands the point of applying scripture within its proper CONTEXT nowadays. I'm an alum of an IFC frat at Memphis and I'll say that I had plenty of moments where I questioned certain things I noticed going on around me when considering my faith. I decided to stay in part due to a conviction I felt to be a positive influence as an ambassador of Christ to my brothers, but I always say that if I had the chance to go through college again, I wouldn't have joined a frat again because it's just not worth all the struggle that comes with Greek life as a Christian. Now that I work as a campus missionary, it's crazy how much my perspective on stuff like this has shifted.
There are many solid Christians in Greek life that I respect so all the more power to the ones that stay and are able to handle it with strong faiths but also respect to people like you who have the courage to walk away and stand true to pleasing God instead of the people around you. Stay blessed and bold with your faith. It'll always take you further than anything or anyone of this world can.
This is the BEST revelation I’ve seen yet. Each instance of conflict was backed by the word of God rather than personal experience alone. It reminds me of the film “The Book of Eli” you should watch it if you haven’t seen it yet. the devil tried his hardest to get his hands on the Bible so that he could use it to manipulate the people left after the second coming. What a powerful video. I always wanted to pledge AKA in undergrad but God kept saying no. I was never presented the opportunity. I was upset and wish I had the opportunity to do it and even considered it for graduate chapter, but God hasn’t opened that door for me. I always wondered why? I’m currently in the process of transforming and my relationship with God is getting stronger and stronger! I’m learning to trust him with my life and when he says no, it’s for a reason! I randomly saw this video on my TL and I had to watch it. This touches me because 3-4 years ago I didn’t understand why I never had the opportunity to join the sorority but it just didn’t feel right or 100% genuine for me. The “sisters” didn’t feel like people I wanted relationships with either. It just didn’t sit 100% well with me but I wanted to do it anyway. I also had family members that are Greek. Fast forward to today, I’m finally realizing that it wasn’t for me! God has other plans for me and he knows that this was not in his plans for me.

I had the opportunity to do so in undergrad but I knew who would be my potential line sisters and I didn’t like the sister hood of the line that was going to pledge the next. Like you said it just didn’t sit right we me. I way always around Greek life even after undergrad because I dated one. I dissociated myself from my sorority my senior year. I tried again later in life through a graduate chapter. I was only really interested in community service and I had hoped that at 40 years old (the general age of the chapter) that people would be more mature. I was wrong. It was still very catty and strife filled spirit. That attitude permeates through the organizations. It’s a major turn off. Kind of cult like. I watched good people become very nasty. All just trying to find validation. ...Even as very grown women.
People who never left college
I sit among many people with bad vibes in church every Sunday because people are dealing with so much. I still go to church because no one is holy. Pray for the organizations to cut the oaths and what is called pagan rituals. I do believe when God says go, go. I also believe people who are having problems with orgs can bring it to the org about getting rid of it. So many are feeling this. They would have to listen and begin to make changes.
My relative wanted to be an AKA but she said she was in no way going to hold her hands out at the side, tilt her head back and shake her hair. For her she felt that was vain. So people feel things before joining and don’t do it. Some still join wanting to be a part of a group. I wonder how much better these orgs can be without all the rituals and oaths Christians don’t like? These organizations were started 100 years ago and changes can be made without judging all members to be sinners because they still in the organization. Change it!

I have to say that in 2018 I had considered rejoining and I came upon a video from a DST member who denounced after I attended a "founder's day" event. that was God's sign to me that you need not rejoin. I got rid of whatever shirts & para I had and God had me denounce on Facebook the following year in 2019. Though it was tough, I knew that obeying God was better than sacrifice. Out From Among Them is a group that travels around and talks about all of this.

I knew there was a reason why sororities and fraternities never sat well with me. This is a good reminder because sometimes dangerous things like this aren’t 100% clear.
I totally forgot. Years ago I was in a couch with my supposed to be future line sisters, and I clearly heard God said No! God had been leading me for days to say no and that day we were supposed to finalize that we would pledge and i told them I couldn't do it (even though I didn't understand it). Thank God there was no opposition and I was able to walk out. At that time, peer pressure is so strong to go with the flow but I'm glad they didn't shame me for saying no. This is eye opening, thanks for sharing.
Of course people have different experiences while pledging but I always felt like many people denounced their letters from putting too much of themselves into the organization(which is a serious problem). You reading and giving examples of the ritual gives a very different perspective.....its actually sick and disturbing. Great video!

Although I am not apart of Greek, I always struggled in college with the battle of the conviction and knowledge from the Holy Spirit, which led me to always turn away when presented with the opportunity. I denounced and repented from my vows to DST. Once I understood what I was going through the initiation process, it was trauma bonding done to confuse and weaken the spirit to manipulate you. TMH doesn’t require us to belong to anything for salvation.

I always wanted to be a aka in college but I was really curious and found the pdf file of the aka ritual book back when I was in college in 2010 as I was reading my spiritual beliefs wouldn’t let me agree with was I was reading. I also had male and females in the divine 9 who wished they hadn’t joined. I took it as a sign from God that it wasn’t meant for me

Thank God for your obedience! I recently denounced AKA 3 weeks ago. I told my former chapter members, family, and a few friends, and purged all things AKA from my social media and home. Kenda Lewis Gusme I denounced a year ago and sent a letter to the corporate office as well. I’m so happy that I did it! I got the letter notarized at my bank and the manager was an Omega and he tried to give me a hard time. In the end, I was able to plant a seed and minister to him. I give God all the glory!!
What’s the point of writing corporate with a notarized letter, the only thing you had to do was stop paying dues and you not a active member in their eyes anyway because all they want is your money.

Thank you for putting this information out there for others to take and do what they will. Knowledge and wisdom comes from above but we choose what to do with it. I have been going back and forth between being an AKA for years. I keep meeting AKA’s and at times people would assume I was one. One night, I had a dream that I was about to cross and I was sent in this dark room. There were people standing around like they were in a trance or something. I remember having to do sexual favors for a leader and I remember being confused when I awoke. It was like I received my confirmation that night. My dad was always against Greek life because he said that the only God we should worship is our Father in Heaven. Years later, THIS video has confirmed what I’ve always known. The spirit world is REAL, and she’s right, not all spirits are good.

All of this time, the scribes or whomever first noted the creeds and oaths of each organization did take Biblical scriptures out of context to fit the purposes of itself. Just imagine how many initiates just saw the word "O God" in their oaths and thought "maybe this is my destiny to follow through with this, because 'God' is mentioned in this chant that I am reciting...". But then, if the (initiate) is a young lady and man and have never actually read the scriptures for themselves then they wouldn't realize that a real text out of the Bible is being twisted and reformatted, just to manipulate them into this organizational soul-tie.
I have watched several Greek-organization denouncing videos of wonderful awakened Christians for the past two weeks. By far, this comparison of the AKA oath vs a scripture from the Book of Psalms has TRULY showed "us" the trickery and deceit that is in the very foundations of what has been so popular in the last 8 decades of the American Black culture.
The weird thing is that the document that you are quoting from is quite old and was established back before 1930, for each of the divine nines. Its not even like the recent generations produced it, which means that those oaths and deceitful creeds has been traditionally and ritually passed down uninterruptedly! So, when we always hear that our grandparent, great-grands, and further back were very religious and spiritual within the Christianity and the church, there were obviously a population of them that went to the colleges, learned worldly systems, religions, and mythologies. Then, set up organizations in the name of white "Greece", adopted their deity legends and rituals, brought those philosophies back home to the black churches and communities, and them tried to mix & mingle them up with Christianity! That is crazy; I am glad you beautiful people who are denouncing, are revealing these things to us who've even considered "unwarily" joining!
The weirdest thing of all is that there are thousands of Black Churches all across America who has pastors, ministers, deacons, ushers, apostles, evangelists that went through these baffled rituals and chanted these sinister oaths and yet claim righteousness in Christianity at the same time while fully representing these Greek organizations, knowing what all is secretly consisted within it. smh

About 4-5 years ago God instructed me not to join this organization. I saw the oath for AKAs before attending the rush meeting & automatically felt conflicted. After get all the paperwork I needed to turn in completed.. I decided obedience was better than sacrifice. I was angry and heartbroken with God for a very long time. I think today this video gave me the last piece of assurance that I made a good decision. Thank you Jesus & Thank you for your obedience
I am an AkA. My experience was wonderful. As years progressed, I grew out of the sorority. I am a Christian now and I was a Christian when I pledged. Life takes you on a journey you either grow or you don’t. There was nothing evil about pledging for me. Just my opinion.
I am also Greek and my experience was wonderful as well. All BGLOs are founded on Christian principles. She really shouldn't be sharing specific details about the process. GOD was my lord and savior when i crossed and he is now ! that will never change.

But afterwards, she was different and she explained it as saying she wasnt sure who she was after she endured what she did while she pledged. She did tell me some if the things they had to do loke not perming their hair and waking up in the middle of the night and going to a house and running silly errands. You're right i don't understand and it i made it a point not to try to understand it. We all wanted to pledge growing up but i decided it wasnt for me before i even tried. I hold strong to my now bowong down or kissing no ones butt (and i meam that in the most respectful way). I dont kiss up to anyone to get something. Ive been that way since i had a voice as a child so i knew I couldn't be in a sorority because I could never make myself do the things needed to get in. I experienced it a little when i was in band amd we shut it down entering as the freshman class because I didn't see the necessity. We all knew about the hazing, we all jnew they break you down to rebuild you back up in the sisterhood, we knew people who crossed before we got to college, some of tje common things sororities do are wide known knowledge in the black community so I'm not completely in the dark and most african americans are not in the complete dark about what you need to do to cross. Its the stuff done in the dark that people dont know about. And its done that way bu design i guess idk. Ive seen videos of people denouncing many frats and sororities and went down a rabbit hole clocking on videos. It started with an aka denouncement video, then two delta denouncement videos, and an omega denouncement (not on Facebook but in the comments there were so many people who said they denounced) . I llve what sororities and fraternities do for the community no one os taking that away from any of them, i think it's just not for everybody. Some will struggle with the changing if bible versus and bowing and kneeling and some wont. To each his own. I also saw in a lot of the people who felt uncomfortable about what they did, it was the part that is "secret." The pledging and kneeling and bowing which they say conflicts with words in the bible. This is their journey. You asked why talk about something you took an oath on, i cant answer that because I'm not Greek. I dont even say the pledge of allegiance because i dont like the way the words are. I DONT plesge allegiance to anything, period. If my country is wrong, I'm going to speak on it and not "back them up no matter what" whatis also interesting to me is that the poloce take a fraternal order and a light bulb went iff for me one day. People say, why when a cop sees another cops doing wrong or overstepping what's right, they don't say anything...? Well its for the same reason you think no one speak of the process for pledging greek. It's a shut up mentality. But people want to get uoset at police for not speaking up whwn they kill black people and are racist but they understand the same oath mentaility when it comes to greeks???
