@@memyselfandi7782 Most of the complaints are about the fact that the dress looks more like a prom dress than a Rococo gown (like the ones in the first scene during the ball). It seemed like the designer was more focused on making a dress that could be marketed for children's costumes instead of using historical silhouettes. They did use some historic elements (like the golden designs on the yellow chiffon), but the dress seemed pretty out of place among the more historic clothing used throughout the rest of the film. I still like the movie a lot and loved the production design of the characters/sets, but I think her ballgown could have been a grander statement since it's such an iconic part of the original animated film.
I personally loved the changes to the story because I felt it expanded upon how the beast and Belle connected. There's a theory that when the enchantress cursed the Beast, she also made the townspeople forget about his home and everyone who lived there. But she didn’t just erase memories of the prince and his castle; she also ‘locked the village in a time loop’. But because Belle and her father arrive after it was cast they were not affected. Just look at the lyrics for 'Belle'. "Little town, It's a quiet village. Every day Like the one before" - "Every morning just the same, Since the morning that we came, to this poor provincial town." It would also explain why after the curse is lifted they are all the same age.
Oh! I didn't know this and it make such sense, I wonder how one night the town wanted to kill the beast and the next day everyone is okay with them being in the castle haha

If you havent watched the live Action dumbo you should def do. I didnt like dumbo, always thought it was so boring and went into the cinema for live Action dumbo bc well its still disney. And i was so pleasantly suprised by it. Like i did love it! (:
When i watched this version i actually cried when beast died and yes i know he's revived but it's still really sad and i don't really know why but when i watched the cartoon i didn't cry at that scene
I have seen the OG Disney SO often, I had the book, I had the cassette, I swear my parents were THAT close to abandoning me in a parting lot when I was a kid bc I was so.into.this.shit! So I was MORE than nervous about this film, especially bc I'm also the HP generation and have already heard some real slander HOWEVER I took a friend who has never seen it (she loved it) and I started crying as soon as the ballroom scene started, possibly sooner, and did not stop well until we were out of the theatre. You could see, feel , hear...whatever... that MOST of the people who were involved in the OG were also involved in this one, and the added music numbers and scenes (well okay, the paris time turner one meh) were in the original spirit. There was so much love in that film and as a 90's Disney film I don't get the hate - this is probably THE best live action movie ever done - because, par two or three scenes, they did EXACTLY what they did in the OG version. Take fucking note, Disney! Don't try to alter perfection Well done dude, well done... ...still sobbing silently because honestly...the song???
I’m not a huge fan of the Disney remakes (besides this the only one I’ve liked was Cinderella) but I saw this one in theaters with my nieces and really enjoyed it. Making the dumb sidekick whose name literally means The Fool a gay character? Maybe not the smartest choice lol. But I love what Josh Gad did with it and I like how they changed the character around.
Would love to see you react to seven brides for seven brothers it’s an old musical also if you haven’t seen the greatest showman that would be an amazing movie to react to
I actually did like this movie a lot despite being very against Disney live action remakes. This and the 101 dalmatians live action movie are the ones I actually like
Same with me. I also enjoy Cinderella Christopher Robin and Lady and the Tramp to an extent. I super agree with you. Aladdin is okay to me. The rest are not so good. The remakes I truly hated the most are Maleficent, the Jungle Book, Lion King, and Mulan (Dumbo to an extent). Out of the two, I would prefer 101 Dalmatians remake over this one even though I still enjoyed it with a heart beat!
@@matthewhedrichjr.5445 I watched Christopher Robin with my older sister who loves Winnie the Pooh so I really loved that movie too (mostly because of how much my sister loved it)
The beast’s song is not the same as in the stage play. The music in the live action film can’t even compare to the original. The animation in the ballroom scene was hand drawn and the reason why that film was the first animated film to be nominated for Best Picture in the Oscars.
With this live action version and Aladdin live action, I love the storyline and the new additions and songs, however my biggest pet peeve is the the overuse of autotune! None of the songs sound natural or as clear and beautiful as the original because the autotune is so overdone! With Emma Watson I understand she isnt a natural singer but the autotune did not enhance or improve it As young Adam (beast) voice sound smore robotic then as actual human Again storylines are great but I expected more from the music and songs
Neither Dan Stevens or Emma Watson had much vocal experience. Both trained hard for the role. I think Emma sounds sweet and did well, not great but decent. I felt Dan Stevens really did incredible for someone without a vocal background
I'm in a definite minority here, but I did not love this movie. Didn't hate it, but it just didn't do it for me. And honestly I'm putting it down to the director. I'm not going to rant about why, but I think the director made some bad choices with things and it hurt the movie. It messed up the pacing multiple times, diverted the plot, etc. The sets, costumes, lighting, the VFX... all top notch. The casting is damn near perfect as well. I think Emma should have been allowed to breath a little more with the character. She's kind of a dead paperweight with little to no emotion beyond depression for the first half of the film. When she shows up she shines. One thing I love about the original is that Belle, despite having a cooky father and no mother and being the village oddball... never loses the joy in her life. She's always optimistic, smiling, joking. This film seems to have lost that. I get why... I just don't think it was necessary. Either way, it's a freaking beautiful movie. I honestly can't think of a person who looks the part of Belle more than Emma Watson, who, let's be honest here, absolutely OWNED that ball gown... like Lily James owned hers in Cinderella.

If you havent watched the live Action dumbo you should def do.
I didnt like dumbo, always thought it was so boring and went into the cinema for live Action dumbo bc well its still disney. And i was so pleasantly suprised by it. Like i did love it! (:
please do the live action Aladdin
Would love to see you react to the original too at some point!
Fun video welldone. 👍🏻
So I was MORE than nervous about this film, especially bc I'm also the HP generation and have already heard some real slander
HOWEVER
I took a friend who has never seen it (she loved it) and I started crying as soon as the ballroom scene started, possibly sooner, and did not stop well until we were out of the theatre.
Don't try to alter perfection
Well done dude, well done...
...still sobbing silently because honestly...the song???
"This was my favorite song from the stage play."
Me: *still mad they replaced If I Can't Love Her with this* :'( :'( :'(
I’m not a huge fan of the Disney remakes (besides this the only one I’ve liked was Cinderella) but I saw this one in theaters with my nieces and really enjoyed it. Making the dumb sidekick whose name literally means The Fool a gay character? Maybe not the smartest choice lol. But I love what Josh Gad did with it and I like how they changed the character around.
Would love to see you react to seven brides for seven brothers it’s an old musical also if you haven’t seen the greatest showman that would be an amazing movie to react to
Oh yeah anyone here a High School Musical and High School Musical The Musical The Series fan because in season 2 they're doing Beauty and the Beast
When are you doing the animated version?
@@matthewhedrichjr.5445 I watched Christopher Robin with my older sister who loves Winnie the Pooh so I really loved that movie too (mostly because of how much my sister loved it)
@@Game_Erica I’ll give that film a gold medal, BATB a silver medal and 101 Dalmatians a gold medal.
He talks about loving Evermore in the stage play (musical) when that song isn’t even in the musical 😂 he’s thinking of If I Can’t Love Her.
That 'me' was so good
I love Emma Watson to death 🥰🥰😍😍❤❤❤❤😭😭😭😭😭. I really want to meet her one day.
11:18-11:23 same 😂😂
16:11-16:16 i saw it in hs after reading the book
This is my favorite live-action Disney movie i just love it so much idk why people give live-actions so much hate. but still this one is my favorite.
Agree with you on what you said
Aladdin was a good live action too
In the animated version, there is no story behind what happened to Belle's mom.
I thought this version was better than the animation, but the ballgown was a let down
The letdown for me is Lumiere’s medieval costume in the original animated Beauty and the Beast. It did not age well. Ugh I kinda agree
0:42-0:47 omg how!?
omg i loved this movie 💖💖🥰🥰
The beast’s song is not the same as in the stage play. The music in the live action film can’t even compare to the original. The animation in the ballroom scene was hand drawn and the reason why that film was the first animated film to be nominated for Best Picture in the Oscars.
The Notebook 2004 1080p what movie name
The Notebook 2004 1080p what movie name
You should watch jumanji 2 since you watched the first one
Emma Watson is my queen too!
With this live action version and Aladdin live action, I love the storyline and the new additions and songs, however my biggest pet peeve is the the overuse of autotune! None of the songs sound natural or as clear and beautiful as the original because the autotune is so overdone!
With Emma Watson I understand she isnt a natural singer but the autotune did not enhance or improve it
As young Adam (beast) voice sound smore robotic then as actual human
Again storylines are great but I expected more from the music and songs
First watcher
The Notebook 2004 1080p what movie name
13.03. Well watch the cartoon version.....then you'll know 😊
You should react to beauty and the beast by Christophe Gans.
Little Town in the live action version with Emma absolutely flops compared to the animated one so im sad you didnt see it first.
Neither Dan Stevens or Emma Watson had much vocal experience. Both trained hard for the role. I think Emma sounds sweet and did well, not great but decent. I felt Dan Stevens really did incredible for someone without a vocal background
I thought the live action was good!
Please, please, please, please if you decide to watch the 1991 animated ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ please upload it!! ❤️❤️
Do me a Hamilton
I don't know what language that is but I'll love to see your reaction to Hamilton
