Watching this now I realize back then Salah was a master in terms of stage presence and showcasing. His level of creativity was pretty much unmatched but looking at this battle imo Marvel did a better job a popping overall I edged the first two rounds to marvel and the tie breaker to Salah. In understand the years have changed and both have improved since but this is a new opinion on an old battle
bruh the 2nd round salah showed that what marvel can do salah can do it with ease. he destroyed him at the 2nd round.

Well the more effective popper was Marvel but the more effective showman was Salah.popping is showmanship but poppinb is all about hitting on beat at different angles too.so i guess it depends what the judges look for from event to event.i personally thought Marvel had this but Salsh is dope too.respect to both dancers..
It's a battle so just think of it like a rap battle, the more hits the better but you also want to look good while popping and not look bad because of how disrespectful you are getting.

marvel dance was well in the category of dance with proper finished moves, salah didnt dance with proper finishing was jus trying to bully the marvel with his moves, but how he could be decided as winner, injust for marvel, i would vote for marvel in this battle

They are both so amazing. Salah was way more versatile an had a lot more musicality not to mention the NoN Stop FUNK he was bringing to the floor.
Salah actually had to dance in this battle. He could not sit back and waste 30 seconds cradling his pretend baby, pushing it in a stroller, and sucking his thumb. He is an OG but starts and stops a lot. Good battle Marvel is a beast do no under estimate him. Salah definitely did not.
I like Salah and have been watching him for a lot of years ... but I think Marvel held his own on this one.

I feel you but he is a specialist. Boppin Andre's waves are not that great imo, nor are Flattop's but they are masters. Flattop is a goddamn god of minimal movement and strobing, so he doesn't need to tut, boog, wave etc...
I can see why he lost the battle, but his style is top notch.

Agree with others that Marvel is a marvel and won the first round. But like usual Salah is the whole package of talent, he can produce moves that others do not even try, such as the horizontal floor moves on his tummy. Salah is a winner in some many ways. Awesome show!

for christ sake... im tired of these boring lame old poppers hating on Salah for doing something right. He clearly understands something u dont get. Entertainment is part of dancing. If you dont get it then you lost alot of points u could have gotten. Dont you guys every watch the old school 1980 hip hop lock and pop dancers? Just watch em.. they are very entertaining to watch they hold a key as to why and what makes them interesting they pop and lock while throwing in some hilarious and funny things to watch. That is the spirit of dancing right there. Salah can do the flowing liquid snake/pop and lock/popping/break dance. But he always carry what is most important to every dance that he does and thats entertainment. Its the spirit of dancing. Just because he didnt do any popping for 30 seconds before he actually did is him having fun and making sure the spectators have fun. That is how he wins the crowd and judges over. How about stop crying over Salah's signature moves and get some of your own then the both of you will be on a even level.

People act like Popping should be treated like fucking gymnastics lol. Dancing does include antics, attitude, personality, expression... these are all important parts of dancing. Salah is a master in those areas. Also a master of technique.
